I find it strange that the MC hasn't bumped into a realization about Cauldron with this. That really ought to have happened alreadyThe cultural insight I gained from Touched by the Protoculture
OK this is going to be awesome. I know Roust loves power mechanics (frankly I'm kind of a nerd about them too sometimes) but I really think his character work is much better and actually characterizing Lily is excellent."Weld, Flechette." He said in greeting, his casualness at odds with the significance of his sudden appearance. "I was hoping we could have a chance to talk."
I think that Cauldron's shadow will be discovered after the S9 are defeated and when Survey is free to set up a continent-wide surveillance net. But all it would take is a stray power vial or a detectable Doormaker portal to catch his attention.I find it strange that the MC hasn't bumped into a realization about Cauldron with this. That really ought to have happened already
Should probably be 'Now she is gone', unless you mean to imply that she somehow erased the concept of the present from the timeline. Now is gone, but I keep expecting her to be waiting for me with another team of teenage vandals when I get back to New York."
The entire point of them though is to slow down the Forge. Even with all those repeated upgrades, Roust still had to nerf Joe's point gain just to actually be able to make plot progress.Realitu upgrades worry me,because they are repeteable and have no cap
Past a certain point it feels redudant
For example take the upsize ones
Waiting 2 months for a roll just to get "and now the systems sized plane filled with nothing,is now bigger but still unused as always" is just padding the wordcount that is not relevant to the story nor will ever be so
With 5 to 10 of the things,it will reach the point where we will have to wait a year or so to get a narrative relevant roll
I would reccomend having a "after buying repeteable home upgrade perks a X amount of times, further repeats become free and instead you re-roll" to avoid getting stuck
not all of them. And if I'm not wrong, the way the rolls work is that the constellation is rolled first and then the perk, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue in the long runRealitu upgrades worry me,because they are repeteable and have no cap
Basic Accommodations (Personal Reality) 50:
This provides minimalist accommodations for you and each companion. Essentially the same thing you'd get in Basic Training in the military. A barracks with a bunk and a locker and a camp toilet. If you bought Plumbing, this improves to include a communal shower and toilets. In fact, someone need not be a companion for this to work. Anyone you allow into your Personal Reality will be allotted a similar level of basic living quarters, thus allowing you to turn your Personal Reality into a refugee center if you like. If you have Basic Nutrition, this will provide any such guests as you may invite into your Personal Reality with very basic food equal to 1200 Kcal a day, totally vegetarian. This can support up to a maximum of 1 person for every 4 cubic meters of space in your warehouse per day.
So, in chapter 96 Breakthrough, Joe got the Basic Accommodations perk, and in this one he got Basic Nutrition (and its upgrades). Combined, he can now house, water and feed 1 person for every 4 cubic meters of his warehouse, which is the size of a continent now, I think? Regardless, even if he and the rest of the crew did nothing to make that better, the Celestial Forge could likely house, feed and water everyone in the city.Basic Nutrition (Personal Reality) 100:
This option provides a basic (if minimalist) food delivery for you and all companions (metered for a normal human dietary requirement). This delivery comes once a week and is the kind of thing you'd buy on a very strict budget; Ramen, Peanut Butter, Generic Cereal, Dry Beans, Eggs, Tofu, Fresh Common Fruits & Veggies, Canned Fruits & Veggies, Dry Pasta, Salt, Pepper, Milk, Bottled Water, Rice, Flour, Butter, Barley, etc. (Note, you cannot sell the Salt or Pepper for money.) Essentially the purchasing power of 50 dollars US a week per person.
Lol, lmao evenTybalt had to once again be talked from seeing how much Jet it was possible to take before you started to warp the fabric of space time around you.
"Weld, Flechette." He said in greeting, his casualness at odds with the significance of his sudden appearance. "I was hoping we could have a chance to talk."
Same interludes and addendum are the best. sometimes i just reread only those and it gives a better perspective than Joe's unreliable takesMy favorite part of this story are the interactions between the main character and other characters.Especially from other characters' perspective. I am so excited to see you in this next chapter!
Lord has said that hes only getting blessed by the greek gods. Its too complicated otherwise.@LordRoustabout if Joe gets Blessed by Big G (God himself) in his rolls what would his reaction to that be and how involved the angels will be if they come into factors
Sometimes, yeah. But sometimes you get Armstrong's yapping for three chapters straightNon-Joe perspectives are like poking back out of the event horizon for a gasp of air - they force a small amount of in-universe time to move forward normally instead of continuing to approach zero. Looking forward to more of it.
