Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Wonderful interlude, Tetra is really selling the sisters act well and seems to be having fun. Nice to have explicit confirmation that everyone knows about Parian/Sabah except Joe (by choice, of course). The mild dunking on Emma and the dressing room talk was endearing.

She sent as she nodded along with Parian's slightly inaccurate explanation of the design elements of her gown.
She could recognize limitations in the design of the dress. She had worked with Garment enough for them to be obvious. It was clear what the design had been going for, what elements were the focus of the dress. And it was also clear how it had turned out.

It was the fit. That wouldn't work. And not just because it had been altered for her. Aspects of the way the fabric was cut and sewn meant it wouldn't hang or move the way Parian had clearly intended for it to. It was a dress that looked good on a hanger and could handle simple movement on the catwalk, but it just wasn't designed for the kind of show that Parian was putting together. Those kinds of movements would bring out unflattering angles and cause the fabric to bunch up in an unfortunate manner when interacting with puppets.
Ouch.

I wonder what Garment think of Tetra's "betrayal/mutiny." If Tetra's the only one of Parian's models with clothes that fit properly or have no issues, will she suspect that they asked Garment to "fix" her outfit?

Thanks for the chapter!

please don't quote the ENTIRE chapter.

Thanks for the help, cmd Z'd the wrong thing.

It's even sadder watching the friend-zone happening from outside Sabah's perspective. Love Triangle should progress further soon, maybe a Love Polygon after you account for Survey in cape form.
Yeah, eleventeen thousand sounds like a "short" chapter, but I was thinking tonight would be about 6k. Still long when other stories are 2k a month.

I am curious about what tetra is up to, when she is everywhere at once it must make a very unique perspective. Probably challenging to write an omniscient or omnipresent character.
Off by under 2k, great guess, although you can't really tell between short by his standards or by normal human status.

More important than the length, is the consistency. Back when I, Jaune was more active, they were two of the bright spots on my Thursdays.

That shouldn't be an issue, like was said in the chapter no alterations were made to the dress, and the replica that Tetra made had all the same details down to the thread, so there should be nothing that would standout as an outside alteration to Parian. It would just look like Tetra was wearing it well.

A few typo corrections for you! Really enjoyed getting a view of things from Tetra's perspective. It's felt like her view has been a bit underrepresented in the story (but that made sense, given her limitations). Hoping for more stuff from her, The Matrix, and Aisha. I will say that Tetra's human personality is my absolute favorite so far. She just comes across as so genuinely full of life, it's great (nice touch with her griping about Survey never letting go of an argument. Their chemistry is great!). :)

She hadn't understood what it would mean to be able to connect to someone through links of spiritual energy as a Tengu.
Think this should be Teigu.
Life Fiber, Kamui, Tengu, machinery, and even human when she wanted.
Teigu again.
Plus you don't have a way of packing out without admitting what you know.
a way of backing out
even if it's that part from Joe's no-even-an-ex.
not-even-an-ex
"I've done armature shows, and some plays at my boarding school.

Im so used to BCF Update Day being part of my life since 2020, so I forget just how young Tetra is in story-time. Dialoque was great, the model scene was very immersive, with a unique blend of honest earnestness and infiltration from Tetra as she ran Human.exe.

I wonder if Survey will direct Tetra to introduce herself to Theo for survellence reasons on Max Anders. Double trouble for Theo if Aisha comes with Tetra to mess with him/ introduce herself from the gym. It should be fun for a fat awkward anxious teen with social anxiety.

Heres to hoping we finally get a "Joe meets Brian, Aisha, and Mr. Laborn at the gym" scene soon too! Add Alec for extra funny!

Looking forward to poor Gully's interlude. I hope she gets a free outfit or five from Garment. With the fashion show kicking off, the Case53 storyline will probably be my next 2024 heartwarming event. The partial heal for Weld was damn impactful, need moar!

The method of control also shouldn't be absolute fiat like Garment's.

Why stop there, have Natalia, Alena and his Mother show up as well?

It would be a great test of his progress with Mental Fortress.

So Tetra is apparently a higher dimensional being now who can observe the space-time axis in 4-11 dimensional space and partially traverse it. That's pretty cool. Based on this interlude I kind of want to throw her in KH: Chain of Memories, so she can just talk about past connections with everyone.

I was very interested to see how her connections worked across disparate time streams. Tetra was jumping in-and-out of the Workshop while it was temporally accelerated. Does that mean she could also do the same with Grey Boy bubbles? Joe could arrange a contract with Dennis, a little temporal experimentation in exchange for healing his dad.

There are several universes (ex. Star Wars, Assassin's Creed, Quantum Leap) where people are able to see through time. Could Tetra look back? Move to them? Is she effectively a Schrodinger's Cat paradox once a connection has been established ?

Joe is continually progressing his Doormaker abilities. Tetra is now the Clairvoyant.

"Yeah." Tetra said. "Parian explained everything. I'm in the front spot, with the elephant and the giraffe."

"Wait, you're actually dealing with those things?" Connie asked.

"The puppets? Yeah. Parian asked me about it. It sounds like fun."

"It sounds like fun, the first time." Connie said. "Those things, they look all squishy, but they have no give unless Parian remembers to flex them, and she usually doesn't." She glanced towards the stylist, but Max was apparently willfully oblivious to the conversation. Still, Connie dropped her voice. "The first time I tried riding one of them I ended up with bruises on a very uncomfortable place. It's like being bounced on a steel trampoline."

I love these kind of unexpected details in Lord's writing, unexpected details that just make sense. Very satisfying and really help to add texture and depth to the world.

I had to laugh at myself. I actually googled "armature shows" and "armature meaning". Ended up assuming that Tetra was claiming to have been a model at car shows or tech expos. I figured it was a European thing.

Aisha already got to claim to be in a horse movie.

Theo needs that surreal moment when he is surrounded by an attractive trio of girls his age who fulfill the chromatic set of a Blond, a Brunette (Aisha), and a Redhead (Tetra). Followed by extreme embarrassment as both Aisha and Tetra immediately tease him.

The last set of tools allows you to etch Caryll Runes into the mind to attain their wondrous strength, or remove them just as easily.

Runesmith Caryll, student of Byrgenwerth, transcribed the inhuman utterings of the Great Ones into what are now called Caryll Runes. Etching these runes into your mind can provide a number of benefits. Benefits can range from resisting certain types of damage, increasing resistance to various poisons or increasing stamina and vitality, among other effects. You may etch up to three runes into your mind at a time.

Could he use (or create) a rune of mental health that would work on parahumans? I've never played Bloodborne but a quick google search reveals some interesting runes. Would Arcane Damage Reduction or Frenzy Resistance have any effect?

Tetra was adorable. It's great seeing how positive she is about things, and how well she has managed to be a person without sacrificing her unique alien perspective.

On another note, I think that I could enjoy a story about the Mertens sisters even without the Celestial Forge.

I really don't think Garment would care. Consodering how enthusiastic she was looking forward to working with Parian.

Some models can honestly make some of the worse dresses look good. So chances are it Tertra pulling it off would be ascribed to the model compensating.

Also makes Emma's replacement look better sonshe would cope anx seeth even more.

So the truth scene did happen (Joe thought this was a hallucination) but he gave them a pass, or at bare minimum he had already met them from when Joe rolled Truth and so allowed this event to happen for stable time loop purposes.

They burned a soul (well, part of a soul), so Truth might have considered it an equivalent exchange.

That's likely what will happen. According to WOG, this is the event that will launch Tetra's modelling career.

Well … at least Joe got a very proto prep for the scion fight , probably not that "different" fighting a great one then a space worm actually.

Wonder if the great ones (maybe Rom the hungry caterpillar, the super mage) will bother Joe for Kids to adopt

If the runes are out in the world, how long before a thinker stumbles onto one and starts getting eyes on the inside? We already have parahumans trying to figure out alchemy with Truth waiting in the wings. Bloodborne will be so much worse to anyone messing around.
Apparently it takes proper tools to place them inside of/upon a persons mind but it might be possible to write them since that seems to be a acquirable ability; the Milkweed Rune wasn't actually written by Caryll after all.

What was the wording for the Totally Spies spy suit, regarding it ending up with a Neathbow colour?

The goggles are 'a colour of your choice' so I'm not sure if they could also end up being a Neathbow shade, should Joe decide it? Or is it another case where LordRoustabout might prefer the idea of fucking with Joe some more? If it is a Neathbow colour then it could become part of Aisha's standard kit.

Nice birthday present, thank you Lord!
❤️❤️❤️

Oh, harby barby!

Catsuit (Totally Spies/Martin Mystery) Free:
A nearly skintight catsuit in a color of your choice.

Curious Goggles (Bloodborne) Free:
A curious pair of goggles with a leather strap, thick lenses and strange frames made of thin tubing and metal, all coming in your choice of colors. These goggles, strange as they may look, are an incredible invention allows for those who wear them to see that which evades the notice of others. To put it in simpler terms, it allows you to see things that would normally require "Insight", though does nothing to help perceive these things in other ways such as hearing or smell. Can be freely worn by anyone, allowing allies to see things they may wish they hadn't as well.

Oh fuck, y'all, we might actually get more Neathbow blends for the Bloodborne goggles, lmao.

Aisha with Ren and the goggles as the perfect anti-Stranger effect.

Not that big of a risk surprisingly. The Runes apparently needs tools to be "etched" into the mind.
There is also a lack of actual Lovecraftian Creatures all around so there is not that much of a risk.

The Interaction between Fallen London & FMA metaphysics is surprising.
