Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

From Brian's interlude has Lisa known or suspected that something is afoul with March's 'death.'

So this is just another thing that Lisa is hiding from Joe. From where Joe would discover March's continued presence in the city could be from either a Lisa mistake or Survey finding someone that talks about March in present sense. Perhaps Survey catches someone talking about March's plans or getting the timing right, something that would be not possible without March support.
Lisa is terminally stupid, but this is a typical example of the Transparency Paradox, where we assume that characters know the information that we're privy to.

Instead Joe should assuage Lisa by cloning himself using the potion in front of her, I'm sure nothing can possibly go wrong!

Was just rereading the S9 interlude when they decide to go back to BB and thought of something; what if Apeiron just outright announced (by which I mean, called Weld, messaged Uppercrust, and left a note at Somer's Rock, maybe also a page on his site only the villains can load?) that the slaughterhouse had been detected in the bay and his team was moving to engage, as they represented a clear and present danger to the ongoing recovery efforts? This is 100% in line with his declared intent and nominally "reactive" stance.

Just make sure that the announcement is delayed a few minutes so as not to tip Jack off.

Because part of the reason Lisa thinks he's completely ruled by his power and steadily going madder is because she really thinks the attack on the ABB financial office was completely random and not a rescue operation that uncovered a target of opportunity.

Jack's powers can detect any message relayed to a parahuman instantaneously through the Shard, Broadcast.

Therefore, Joe's waiting for the S9 to cross the State lines, tomorrow for him, 2024 IRL for us.

How optimistic of you.
Indeed, assuming the average of a hour per chapter, the reduced rate of the CF and the new biweekly schedule.

But, given the increasing quality and quantity as well as consistency, I'm willing to bet a string of 5 50k chapters for S9 and Leviathan. Following the current trend of course.

There are too many balls hanging in the air to get to the S9 in any reasonable time. Frankly I want the ABB plot over and done with more than anything else. What will be really annoying is if the Parian revelation occurs and delays everything again.

Judging by the Aisha reveal, probably an endgame reveal for Parian as she stitches the flayed skins of parahumans into a Gundam. ABB meaning March and Bakuda? Could use some more building up on the Leet side, although Uber needs to be taken down a peg.

Not really they are around 6 hours by car from the bay in modern conditions even allowing extra time for them going slow for stealth and stuff like doing prep they should still get close enough for Joe to justify stomping on the next in story day or the one after that.

The in story events won't take too long as the charity event has already started and other than it and the empire atk there's only really follow up stuff like meetings about those things and Crystal going to finish briefing Amy left for this in story day. Other than the possible nine stomp the next in story day is so far only known to have Lisa's daily check in and Crystal's friends meeting at 10 though there will also probably be updates on things like Emma. Regardless that's not a lot especially compared to the known amounts by this point for basically everyday after the ungodly hour which were all in the double digits by now.

Oh, hey, another thing; Joe has Star Trek robotics and Engineering, right? Do you think Dragon is nerd-girl enough to want to be a real Soong-Type Gynoid?
"Wait, you mean after all the trouble I've given you, you're still OK with giving me a real positronic brain?"
"Yes, of course. I mean it's not your fault your daddy was paranoid to a fault and completely wrong-headed about you…"
**elecronic feedback screech** "Oh, I'm so sorry! I never tried to squee before…"
"That's alright, I completely understand. Lethe felt the same way when she first met Orudios. Anyway! Enough of that; did you have any preferences, appearance-wise? Y'know, facial structure, default hair colour etc.?"

You know thinking about it that disseminating that information might actually make both the Slaughterhouse and the local factions more predictable; the locals would be too busy making preparations while Jacob would be busy preparing to flaunt that those preparations don't work on him.

She can make a telepresence bot herself easily enough without him.

I thought it made sense at first but then I realized that if Joe hasn't gotten Truth first these people will be capable of clap alchemy and he won't. While it probably wouldn't be immediately obvious I think that they would notice eventually that these people are capable of something he isn't. Granted with the existence of unnatural skill alchemy and transmutation he'll probably get get the step beyond that where you don't even need to clap. Anyway, if these people are capable of clap alchemy and he isn't then how could he have made the trap?
In order to figure out he doesn't have it, they'd need to see him using alchemy without it in a situation where it would be beneficial to use it if possible. Problem is, Apeiron doesn't use alchemy in combat; indeed he barely uses it at all.

Being a scary ghost girl. Wondering why there are almost no psychics. Not bothering Joe because she can't hurt him. Checking out the other psychic ghost girl? Noticing the massive but simple minds of the shards? Being very confused and very angry.
She got into Cauldron's base and is now having a Good Poltergeist/Bad Poltergeist competition with the Custodian.

Worst of all, Taylor is free and getting ideas. :mob:
She still hasn't had a chance to demonstrate how she managed to turn the 'purely defensive forcefield' Joe gave her into a Variable Sword, has she?

Broken link.

If the duplicates' behavior in the spars is to be believed, he would use alchemy to rearrange the landscape mid-combat if he were cutting loose even to a moderate degree. That's aside from his and his duplicates' extensive use of transmutation as a quick way to get Workaholic to duplicate material.

Besides, Apeiron can fake clap alchemy pretty well by projecting an alchemy circle concealed between his hands when he claps.

Dining Room Table (Spidey_phd)
Omake: Dining Room Table

Rolled a dice for a Halloween theme. Got "Puppet". Went light and fluffy instead of horror.

"I don't understand-" Armsmaster began to say carefully.

Dragon cut him off, fidgeting in place anxiously. "A humanoid body was one of the first things I designed after Leviathan sunk Newfoundland. I didn't want to be limited to just a binary code. I wanted to be a real girl. I wanted to go into the real world and experience a real life."

She bit her lip as she attempted to convey her feelings. "Everyone has hobbies and goals. Andy Dufresne spent 19 years digging his tunnel to freedom. I've spent the last five years trying to design my own way to freedom. I updated the design for my future body every time I cracked an applicable piece of Tinkertech. I revised and modified my design thousands of times."

"Then Apeiron and the Celestial Forge took down the Dragon Slayers, upgraded my servers, and destroyed Iron Maiden and all of my other restrictions. I immediately started reviewing and making final revisions to my plans for a gynoid body." Dragon rubbed the fingers of her gynoid together, grounding herself by stimulating her own senses.

"Before I could start the manufacturing process, the Matrix messaged me to notify me of several deficiencies in my design. I don't know how the Matrix was even aware of my plans or was able to access my designs but I wasn't surprised at all by that point. He suggested dozens of valuable improvements and provided me with some amazing materials that are usually restricted to members of the Celestial Forge. Then the Matrix asked Fleet and Survey to collaborate on the project."

"Fleet provided an incredible program for improved kinesthetics and procedural memory." Dragon flexed and extended her fingers reverently, still awestruck by her new form.

"Survey provided fifty-two separate programs and an entire database for social interactions. Everything from proxemics to paralanguage to prosodic features to haptics to chronemics to oculesics. All of the aspects of human interactions that I had been struggling to mimic she had broken down into elegant systems of mathematics."

Dragon sighed, prepared for the grimace that flashed across Armsmaster's face at her next words. "Then Apeiron got involved in the actual creation process. The world is still underestimating what he is capable of. He surpassed my greatest hopes a thousandfold. He allowed me to become human."

Dragon smiled. "The next day I was able to be with you physically like this for the first time. I wasn't an A.I. puppeting a mechanical suit. I was, I am, here with you. Apeiron showed me my soul then placed it within this body. I can feel how my soul connects to this body, how it fills my fingers and toes, how it utilizes this body's senses."

"That first day was wonderful. You were wonderful. The picnic, the walk along the beach, the ice cream, playing with the puppies. It was all perfect, everything I've even dreamed of."

"Every day with you has been wonderful. Despite the issues and distractions, the misunderstandings and the arguments, being with you is exactly what I want."

Dragon motioned to the object on the table between them. "This is unexpected but something I am excited about." She braced herself. "How do you feel about it?"

Armsmaster stoically did NOT lean away from the object. "I reciprocate your feelings of love and affection. I am grateful for the efforts of the various members of the Celestial Forge which have removed the threat of the Dragon Slayers and freed you from your previous restrictions. I cannot express in words how satisfying it is to have you here with me. Our relationship is something that I wish to not only maintain but to deepen and make permanent."

Colin glanced from Dragon's smiling face back down to the object again. "But I fail to understand why you would place an object covered in urine upon our dining room table."

Is Aisha still a little troll?

"It's temporary, I swear!"

___

Edit: In response to the PMs. Yes, Dragon not remembering (or at least not mentioning) Aisha's participation was intentional.

That's what Joe can do, not what Dragon can do.
That's what I was trying to say.

That's why Dragon would prefer an Apeiron-built body.
If the duplicates' behavior in the spars is to be believed, he would use alchemy to rearrange the landscape mid-combat if he were cutting loose even to a moderate degree. That's aside from his and his duplicates' extensive use of transmutation as a quick way to get Workaholic to duplicate material.

Alchemy is primarily used for non-lethal civilian containment, as seen during the ABB arc.

IIRC, that has been his only public usage of alchemy so far. So on the one hand, 'primarily' is understating it, on the other, really tiny sample size.
See later posts about anti fire, wouldn't be funny if his enhancements actually gave Dauntless extiguishing authority over minor fires, would serve to be another power confirmed after the fact.
But you said it in a context where the subject was what Dragon could build, not what Joe could build.
Didn't clarify, I meant Joe's compared with hers.
It was also used for fire-suppression, and this is known to some observers. I think it might have been Aisha who used it there, not Joe?
Aisha could probably do it in her sleep by now, but was done by Joe immediately after Dragon's attack,

That's not really a bad thing given how much shards have been able to squeeze out of scraps of footage of it in action putting out the fire and the knowledge of how to activate a circle.

It really wouldn't happen. The literally singular boost Dauntless got was Infusionist on his Arclance to give it an elemental affinity of Dauntless's boosts which made it jump in power but that's all no other perks or forge effects are on it. The Arclance itself is also themed towards electricity and from Wildbow's what if Dauntless wasn't time bubbled wog it isn't going to pick up any extra powers that aren't enhancements of what it already has.
