Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

It's important to note that the power mentioned was something more like threat assessment rather than precognition. Still predictive modeling, anticipating levels of conflict, but not future sight. In that case, it probably ran into Item Construction A++ rather than Blank.
It would not have been Blank anyway. Blank isn't in BCF's perk list. And Joe's anti-precog (made with Item Construction A++) specifically functions by messing with attempts to scry by always replacing the outcome with a passive version of whoever they are observing, so it's not really anti-precog as much as anti-scrying in general. Precog just happens to be the most common form of scrying in Worm, followed by postcog.
Anyone else immediately think she lost on purpose to manipulate him into joining the danger squad?
Unlikely. Ben points as much - in all honesty, in the danger squad the most he offers is some background grunt work. No frontline capability, nor any powerful supportive capability. Just what you might expect from someone just as strong as he is slow.

Unlike memetic Cauldron, there is no real impetus for Alexandria (or Cauldron) to manipulate this outcome since it is not that big in the grand scheme of things. They're not assholes for the sake being an asshole. The only way this could've happened is as Ben remembered it to be - he had successfully impeded Alexandria in a minor challenge, and she thought that it was promising enough to follow up on.

Sigh... I really wanted to see what they had on Apeiron, unfortunately I think the next chapter is gonna go back to Apeiron's point of view, so we won't know. :(

(Due to time constraints I had to cut this chapter short, so we have another interlude at half its intended length. The rest of the interlude will be coming next week, after which we'll finally get back to Joe.)
It's coming. Lord explicitly said that the next update is the rest of this chapter, and then(Which is to say, the one after the next one) it'll be back to Joe.

Mind you, since it goes by seniority that basically means she survived, but still good!
Age seniority and cape seniority are two different things, I feel the need to note.

Nah, next is going to be 62.3 Interlude Chubster (my guess on the title, would fit what happened with Victoria, Glory Girl, Vicky; also switching from his civilian name to his cape name is a Symbolism™️)

Yep, pretty much the cause for Vista's canonical chip on the shoulder. Because despite being the most senior Ward in her team, she is being publicized as the cute and harmless member by sheer truth that she's a little girl. Not that she is correct in any sense - though strong, it only makes sense that people just don't want to put Vista in danger. The fact is, Vista's pretty much a self-made child soldier. Flechette's reaction in Weld's interlude shows just as much.

Chubsyer does Tai Chi? I like this loveable adipose mountain already!

Anyone else have a mental image of Ben that looks like Sig Curtis from FMA?

My dysfunctional brain is now suggesting that if Neil Pelham (Manpower) were to get most of his hair buzzed/burnt off so that he only has one odd long curling lock in the front then he could do a fantastic job cosplaying as Alexander Louis Armstrong.

Then these two masculine mountains of manhood could meet in a manner that stuns, confuses and potentially traumatizes bystanders.

My poor brain! It enjoyed this chapter but I need to allow it to get more sleep.

Edit: Vista should be included. Throw her in a red coat and allow her to loudly complain that she isn't short.

I'm leaning towards master po from Kung Fu panda

"Tecton." Charley said. "He's a tinker with thinker support. If they want someone to clear the rubble he's one of the best options, especially with his team."
Also, Tecton and co. is heading in the hell cauldron that is Brockton Bay. More capes = more chaos, and the Bay seems to go for the record in amount of capes in one city. That's getting better by the minute.

Does anybody remember anything about Tecton's team? BEYOND leader's relationship with Gully, that is.

IIRC, Tecton had some issue with racism or sexism, can't remember which. Beyond that, I don't know anything.

It is. Outside Context Problem (Free) was acquired with Armsmaster's power.

Anyway! Last chapter was even better than I hoped :)
Blank is an entirely different Perk compared to OCP, coming from a different document and would be located in the Body Mods constellation if said constellation was in BCF.

The important difference between Blank and OCP is that OCP specifically nullifies shard-based precog and not much else. With OCP, the result is straightforward - if a shard tries to precog you (except for Coil), they get a 404 error. Blank is a much stronger perk that comes in tiers, with higher tiers letting the user detect any attempts in observation/scrying/recording/analysis with the option to spoof it in whatever way they desire. This includes tampering with records, providing false results, etc.

I'm kinda happy that Roust keep up with his schedule instead of skipping a week. Primary happy that he kept it up, I'm just having BCF withdrawal syndrome. Sure it's like you almost got your fix then got it dragged away from you at the last moment but at least you can lick your drug a little.

"People already knew Bakuda got away." He said. The status of her hostages confirmed she was still alive, though the question of her prognosis was anyone's guess. "Her reaching out like that isn't going to change the broader situation."

That was true for the most part, but it would be hell for the local offices and the PRT as a whole. Bakuda has sent out a message that morning to both the PRT and various news agencies, officially opening negotiations. She even had a goodwill offer, ten hostages that could be released without retribution from her.
I think this will give Apeiron some much needed goodwill as the less the local offices can do the more he have done for the situation. When he cracks it I mean and this isn't something the local offices can twist into negative PR.

Base pay, critical roster pay, danger bonuses, and then the highly inconsistent promotions and merchandising revenue, both of which were tied to popularity factors and marketing pushes.
It really comes down to this in the end that 'Hero' occupation is a mix from actors and police blended together.

These names... I don't know what it is, but I feel like there's more to them than meets the eye.

I thought it was a coincidence myself … until the name Burnout was dropped. Then I thought it was a LA PR thing for their tinkers to have Autobot names (like the Seattle capes in Ironwood all having coffee themed names), until Sideswipe turned out to be an Alexandria package from the Midwest.

Lastly, I just threw my hands up and concluded LordRoustabout either subtly trolled everyone, we have a rare true coincidence, or we've discovered the source of his naming power!

I feel you both overestimate the intelligence of the Protectorate, and underestimate their PR team (Glenn Chambers too OP, plz nerf)
Piggot is no longer the only one who is looking into the situation. She has the entirety of Protectorate and PRT looking over her shoulder regarding Apeiron. He has reached a level of power that it isn't possible to twist it in the same manner. In addition to this he has a line of contact to them and with that they can no longer just say whatever since he's also 'in the discussion' so to speak.

Apeiron has already said on tape with director Armstrong that she has made things more difficult for him.
I clenched and unclenched my fist. "Director, every action towards me has, intentionally or not, made it more difficult for me to function in the cape community, resolve misunderstandings, or just offer, much less provide, support. If I was completely cynical I would say it was intended to strengthen Director Piggot's bargaining position in the event I needed to approach the PRT for concessions, leniency, or clemency. I'm not going to bargain from a position of weakness with the person who put me there."
