The "Whahoo" that punctuated the letters and reports, it was going to end as it always does. But like always it was not going to be taken from you without a fight.
"Well then... Let's not keep each other in suspense, hmmm? TASTE DEFEAT PLUMBER BOY!" You roared, preparing to fight. You were feeling real confident this time!
Throwing dozens of axes and fireballs you took care to make sure the DAMNED lever for the bridge was properly guarded.
Too many times its made you fall into the Lava...the ingredients for Ressurection Spells are EXPENSIVE!
Mario jumped and you caught him with your fist but the little punk punched your eye. "AGHH YOU LITTLE-
!" You yelled as you let him go stumbling back until you- SNAP.
You looked down. You stepped on the axe and the bridge was collapsing with Mario and you on it. You jumped to get off it but Mario was not so lucky he fell and CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ground shook as reality itself CRACKED. Mario still falling into the lava tried to jump up but that only got him right into one of the cracks.
"This is somehow your fault Mario, some kind of new power up or item!" You shouted.
"Mama Mia!" Mario shouted as he tried to regain his footing and hold onto something. "Bowser this isn't me this time...Do you know whats going on?!"
"Why are you asking me!?" You said. "Just because the world is shaking and cracking it's always in some ways my fault...I have standards Mario!"
"Well, this seems like something you'd do! Given the Circumstances." Mario shouted.
"I actually like my castles not collapsing you dolt!"
He grabbed your tail. He has some nerve!
"HEY! LET GO OF ME!" I yelled as I started to swing it around.
"BOWSER STOP! OR I WILL FALL!" That only made me thrash harder.
"Well you should have made better hand holds then my tail!" You said shouted throwing Mario to the other side of the room.
*CRACK BOOM!*
The Castle was coming down!
You could see the sky thanks to the new hole in your roof courtesy of the shattering. It looked like the sky was cracking like a Yoshi Egg. Oou of the cracks exited a pure white light that started to engulf everything.
"Ah shit..." You said trying to rationalize the massive problem you were seeing and could only come to one thing that was truly bothering you.
"Did I remember to pack Jr's Lunch and Turn off the STOVE!" You said.
Those are your last words...well, can't say you weren't inconsistent.
When you next open your eyes, you can't help but groan. Thankfully, Kamek was around. You wouldn't admit it, but you were always happy to see him, especially after crazy situations like that.
"I am relieved you're ok, my liege." The elder Magikoopa nodded.
"Uhh, my head...what happened?" You said taking a moment to just sit yourself into a comfortable sitting position to hear a lecture, an old habit from your youth, but that sense of familiarity was an old glove as it were.
"A Temporal, Magical cataclysm of intense universal power," Kamek said. "It means that the universe has changed drastically. Though it's only a guess at this point."
"What....?"
Kamek sighed. "Remember the times when you conquered the universe?"
"Yeah?" You muttered with a raised eyebrow.
"Well somebody failed to do that and dragged our universe into it." Kamek explained.
"Oh...how long have I been out of it?"
"One month!"
"ONE MONTH!" You shouted. "Has Jr been getting enough to eat, is the Koopa Korps in good shape, have the castles been repaired, is Peach still in her cell!"
"Yes, Yes...Working on that and..." Kemak said stopping at the last point. "Sir...maybe we should take a moment to consider the new reality."
"Kamek. WHAT. HAPPENED. TO. PEACH?!" You growled out.
"Do you want the long version, the short version or the complicated version."
You groaned "Before you get to it is Mario at least dead this time!"
"We have not found a body." He said. "And Luigi is missing too."
"Damn it! Alright tell your story…"
What he told you was insane. But it boiled down to few things. Most important is that Mushroom Kingdom was conquered while you were knocked out and that several kingdoms are now ruled by other warlords.
Other Warlords...that was something you've never had to deal with in a long time.
No matter. You would beat them as you did in the past. Your armies didn't stay idle while you were indisposed of and have taken over Mushroom Kingdom and Yoshis Island as well as some of the neighboring kingdoms.
The Problem now was you getting up to speed and getting actual progress done with your ill-gotten gains.
Because you knew deep in your bones you were gonna need to get the work in.
Two weeks later!
The Tax Policy was finally...DONE! "Kemek why did I have to form a Tax Policy, before doing anything else!"
"Because with a guaranteed income you can actually do things." he said,
"Ugh. Good point. Anything else?"
"Your son still wants his paint brush fixed."
Uhhh...not again.
"Can't he fix it himself?" You said. "Come on he's big enough."
"I think he is afraid of making it worse," Kemak said.
"Well, he's going to have to do it himself eventually. He's getting older," You said sitting back on your throne.
"King Boo is requesting a much larger garrison in his frontier," Kemak said going down a rather long list.
"Ughh is he still afraid that Luigi is coming after him?"
"No sir...its the new Neighbors." Kemak said, "I've been trying to ease you into this gently but, things have changed FAR more then normal."
"I can guess that I'm not an idiot." You said.
"The search for Peach is going well though! We found her latest hideout and she hasn't been in there for only ten days!"
"Finally some good news." You said. "I know its a lot to ask, but finding peach will cement our hold on our conquered territories."
"Suuure.." Kamek nodded his voice filled with sarcasm but he didn't make any different comment so you allowed him to continue. "Anyways that should be all for today."
"No...we need to do roll call for our helping hands." You said. "It's tradition at this point."
Most of them were lost during the merging as most of your minions started to call it and then the rest of them were assigned as governors of the newly conquered territories but Kamek managed to get some new ones. Though he never introduced you...
Though Peach escaped the chaos and led a resistance, It was pitiful being comprised of Toads but still.
A resistance, however small would be a headache.
If there was one thing that Bowser was good at; It was managing and fighting his was though a storm.
Okay now to meet the...New Hires.
