Blood, Sweat, and Tears (WH40k Design Bureau)

That's seven slots total, which I think moves it into full-size Cruiser territory. @DaLintyGuy, is that correct?
Forgot to respond to this earlier, but it's only one additional slot over the Civilian Bulk Freighter, which manages to have all Omni slots apart from the Engine module. I figure it's more than reasonable to be able to fit one more when none of the slots are Omni's and two of them are hardlocked.

[X] Plan: Hulls and more Hulls
-[X](Light Cruiser Hull) Martinet-class Hull: The first Calavan foray into the design of Light Cruisers, the Martinet takes much of its design elements from the purified bulk hauler captured in the initial reclamation of Bailafax. But where the heretics had simply battered the civilian hull into serviceable form, the Martinet has been streamlined and built from a foundation for warships. (2W total, 1 Broadside & 1 Prow, 3D (1 locked to Armor, 1 to Shields), 1U, 1E)
-[X](Defense) Corona-pattern PD Array: While our strike craft have thus far proven adequate defense against the enemy's, it has been considered prudent by the Admiralty to have additional countermeasures on ships that the Crusade could scarcely afford to have struck by torpedoes. The cogitator framework that directs the fire of the Lascannon turrets has been adapted from conventional flak arrays and spliced into the ship Sensorium's datafeeds for enhanced target acquisition and tracking.
-[X](Hull) Bulk Hauler Reverse Engineering: We have the Bulk Hauler, but we only have one of them, and it would be really useful if we could have more then one of them. So time to look at it in detail and figure out how we can build our own Bulk Haulers. Which we can then convert into cargo ships and carriers and troops transports and all the other stuff we need a good big merchant hull for.
-[X] Examine the Strange Ship.
-[X](Yttreum + Dark Star Ship Purchases) Offer to sell Spatha-class hulls to Yttreum and the Dark Star Alignment in return for a fair price.

Well, here's my plan. I still don't get why everyone won't sell the Dark Star Alignment anything, even if they're doing it wrong, they're still imperial loyalists and we can use basically anything to help put the fires out, and they're probably more likely to put said fires out then start more. If nothing else, they can distract the orks for us which we can 100% use.

mostly due worries about us ending up fighting with them as we still not have visited them to find out if we can reconcile with them.

[X] Plan: Hulls and more Hulls
I'm not a hundred percent sure that we're ready to build light crusiers, but it would still be handy to have these vessels on hand.
Do we need to use a design action to make Bulk Haulers? I thought we were good on that?

I think we should list it as a prototype cruiser not just coming up with a design for a light cruiser off the back of a bulk freighter I think that has a lot of problems in designing witb our limited experience. Structural insights like what do you do differently for a ship of this size that you don't do with escorts sure the bulk freighter provides that but the bulk freighter is a freighter not a warship .we have the theory but not that of practical experience and if we are gonna make a light cruiser it has to be a prototype, this is effectively a new field like with warp tech we have no experience with it.in the real world we didn't go from the v2 to the Saturn 5 in one big leap we had thing like the redstone and the prototype has to be what bridges the gap between our v2(escorts) and our Saturn 5(cruiser)

In this analogy, the Sabre was our V2. We've gone through every single step on the path towards Light Cruisers except for the last one, which we are about to embark on if the current vote stays in the lead.

Besides, if the design does not turn out favorably now, we can just improve on it next turn. Light Cruisers are such an investment that it would be worthwhile.

i still think a PD module that goes in a defense slot is not a good idea when all of our escorts have one or two defense slots but two or three weapon slots.

PD is just so confusing on where it should be put. It attacks so it should be Weapon but it attacks enemy attacks to prevent damage so it should be defense. Both of these is correct but it is so ambiguous on what type of module PD should be. @DaLintyGuy is PD W or D or U?

It can be both on based on the fact if the system used is also capable of hitting starships if it does its a W system if it can not it is a D system.
For example a battery of fast firing laser cannons that can be aimed at a single point might be a W as the combined fire can hurt a ship but might struggle against a large mass of small missiles.
but a system with far more weaker guns might be able to hit more targets but lack the punch needed to hurt a ship making it a D system.

Alright, calling the vote as there is a 7-1-1 spread and discussion has trailed off. Hulls and more Hulls wins, update in progress.

Some bits of information to chum the water:
You don't get tech off of the Strange Ship because you get the ship (otherwise you might break it for nothing and that is considered Bad by the Mechanicus). Needs some fixing though. And you can try mimicking it's systems in the future to a degree.
Bulk Hauler rolled a two and then got pushed up by the difficulty mod and the larger Cruiser bonus.
PD rolled average and the CL rolled well.
