Character Creation Part 1

Perhaps it was because you were only one person. One legend that managed to create the reputation that many before you desperately chased, especially at such a young age. You had seen the four corners of the entire world, fought countless monsters, demons, and gods.

The Great academies across the sea, in Summerwood, in Cheon and Gwan, all produced heroes, scholars, great men, and women who would forever be linked to legend and History. Their greatness came from the Empire of Yangho, whose armies and roads linked the entire world to it.

It was about to enter the second century of its golden age.

But in Iaban, the continent of your birth, it was far from the peaceful empire that dominated the continent's politics. The land too fragmented by the many cultures, many languages… it's many peoples.

But things were changing that made land rife with war. The Schwarzen empire of the March and Schland were mobilizing its forces north to Apria, and the rebellious, Romian lands of Vahlbury.

Emperess Elizebeth of the Folklands seeks to unify her father's kingdoms, after seven years of bloody civil war, showing no mercy to the brothers that betrayed her.

His Imperial Minister Zho Cao seeks to put an end to the Lilin Republic, after more than a century of coexistence, between the republic, and the Successor Empire of the West.

The Great city-states of the Talion people are holding an election to become a federation of Talia, to fight off the Schwarzen menace to the south.

And in Horopylia, a young king comes of age. His destiny written in the stars, and the sages, that he would conquer the entire world, with the Goddess Meria by his side.

But you are not one of the great kings, Councillors, Ministers, Republics or Emperors that will shape the continent in your own image.

You are just a humble hero, mastered are the ways of travel, of hunting, of scholarly pursuits, magic… of war and adventure.

Yet, your story and that of your students will be the ones who define the destiny of the world.

Where is your Academy?:
[]The Free City of Mergadia: One of the few independent regions within the Schwarzen client state of Kaplodia and the wealthiest city on the continent. Its wealth comes from its position at the connection of the three major rivers of the southern continent, and the taxation of the river traffic, the exchange of goods, and for being money lenders in the various wars the empire has partaken in. The Empires influence is very... noticeable here. Your academy was founded on getting even more money, and not producing great heroes that could protect the people. (Double Starting Wealth, Under the Authority of the City Council and thus, the empire. Double the Expenditure on Land taxation.)

[]The Lakeside City of Elkhoft: On the Banks of Lake Ashada, in Permia, there lies a city of peace, prosperity, and love. This is not that city. A town of drunks, debauchery, and sin, they just gave you the academy lands for free, thinking it would bring in more tourists. Unfortunately, you have to deal with drunks, and their reputation, from destroying both your academy and your reputation. (Disaster Roll increased by 10 until certain actions completed, You are not taxed and only have to pay for supplies to feed your students and staff. Getting well-paying missions will be… difficult)

[]The Fangshire Stronghold Igland: Deep within the Fangshire forest, there are the woodsmen who work the land, raise the trees, and chop them down when they are ready to be used. The Foresters of Igland see the academy as a welcome addition to their city, but they warn that the spirits of the forest might be angry if you build any more than they offer you. (Spirits of the Forest will prevent you from building until defeated or negotiated with. Highest quality building material now 100% off if you work with the Foresters.)

[]The Rotten Port of Nukvale: The Largest city on the Continents western coast, it is abundant in fish, trade, and problems. It is corrupt, its people living under iron handed ministers and magistrates, who leech the life from the city. But underneath it, all is a thriving underbelly that seeks to make those powerful, smart, or mad enough, immeasurable wealth. (Criminal element here, Students may be kidnapped and held for ransom. Access to Rare and magical artifacts, if you know where to look. Taxation... what taxation? Don't you mean bribes?)

[]The Center of the World: Milthwaite: A city closest to the Geographic center of the Continent of Iaban, it has been a central part of the great legends of the past, from Gregor the Good, The Speaker of the Dead Lunius Cassius, and the sight of the great Temple of Meria. With such a place steeped in magic and in legend, it is the perfect place to train heroes. (In a holy site, Magic gets... wierd here. Temple Tax. The King of this nation might take an intrest in you.)

AN: Hey look, another Magoose CK2 Quest... Well, guess what SV, this time, you get MAPS!

Also, maybe I'm being dumb since despite reading several CK2 quests, I don't really know CK2 in itself, is it possible for you to give a bit of info on what making a character, or selecting a premade character entails?

... yeah, I'm probably being stupid, but at least the first part of this post should be useful, at least.

I'm not sure what to do either for the character creation process so I just kind of went with what I thought would look good. I've left some spots for the QM to fill as they please like the nature of our power, what is the gift and so on. I greatly enjoyed writing this character up for some reason.

Crusader kings 2 is a 4x grand stratagy game developed by Paradox Interactive. The basic premise is leading a dynasty through the medieval ages and all the terror that it brings.

In this context, your leading a school through this age.

[X] You are William Shawn Wessex, also known as The White Eagle in your youth years but now you're mostly called the Old Eagle or Old Bird by your closest friends. You are a well-known Hero that operated internationally in solo or in the team depending on the situation. Back in your day, things were much darker and individuals with powers defying reality itself were still new to the world. You were one of the first to rise up against Villains. At first, it was mostly to protect your own family at the time but then from your family, it extended to your neighbors, to the city, to the country to the world without you even realizing it as your fame sore higher than ever. Even as you age, due to the nature of your power, you are still at the peak of your power always. The only comfort in that is your power would probably maintain your body for another century before it reaches its limit and so rather than dedicate your entire life to fights and hero-ing. You decide to take a change of pace and build an official school for super-powered humans, you have seen many generations of super-powered humans both Heroes, Villains and Rogues rising and fall. You want to change that and guide the youth of these days toward a brighter day like you had so long dreamed when you were still young and naive. Perhaps, someone would rise up and prove themselves worthy of your gift.

The Heroes of Iaban
The Heroes of Iaban

There are a Great many heroes in the land of Iaban. Heroes who have shaped the land before.

Who would you like to be?

[]Lucent the Lightbringer: The Bringer of Hope and Peace in the waring lands of Breathtila, the Duelist of The North, and the Knight of the Sun. Born to a Minor Noble family, the Morningstars of Newbury, he excelled at combat and war, neglecting the studies of statecraft, court, and magic, except for his natural affinity for light and healing magic. He requested to be skipped over as successor to his family's estate, to adventure the continent. His parents granted his request, and he traveled South to seek his fortune fighting in the Schland's. Over the years, his combat experience and magical ability grew, as he cleaned the roads of bandits, destroyed the great monster Sigral of Hyporia, before it could destroy Cadscyr, and healing millions of people with his healing magic during the grey plague of Milthwaite as part of ending the war between itself and Breathtila. Wielding the Legendary Blade Lucens Ligabis, his swordsmanship is second only to the god of war Petrious himself. His attitude of seeing the best in people may make him seem naive, and his lack of formal training may make him seem dull and unprepared to teach students, but his power, skill and practical knowledge make him a formidable foe to anyone who dares cross him. Unfortunately, despite his great power and skill, he is despised by the Roamians and the Schwarzen's, for his actions in Mithwaite healed the Army of Hyporia, allowing it to ravage the lands to the south, and for being a speaker of animal's like the remainder of his family, which is considered heretical in the lands of the south.

[]Maximillian Septimus: The Lion of the Romain Confederation, The Builder, The Fortmaster. Many names describe this architect, but his heroics are legendary South of the Schland. Growing up as an architects apprentice, he learned that his mind was the greatest weapon that he had, and could make up for his frail and ill body. And his clever strategies allowed him to destroy many enemies, from the Bandit king Ceaser the Mad, where he entrapped his forces in the Fangshire forest, where the spirits tore them to pieces, to destroying the Kraken Regis by trapping it on the Statue of Julius the Magnificent than ramming his ship into its body, killing it instantly, or by making peace with Emperor of the Schwarzen's by telling him that his armies were standing on explosives, and one wrong spark would kill them all. His clever mind makes him a great teacher, but his lack of direct combat skills always put him at a disadvantage, and his reputation as a trickster made him more enemies than friends.

[]Amber of the Seasons: Hailing from Hyporia and the plains city of Markithe, she is one of the most powerful witches alive, and the authority on nature magic, this witch has seen a lot in her many years alive and has done great things to earn her title. From restoring Lake Ashada's fish and natural wildlife after pestilence wiped it out, to brokering a peace treaty between the Fangshire Spirits and the City of Ingland, to saving the entire nation of Permia by giving it life-saving rains for its crops to grow again. She is the most powerful sorceress' alive and with it, her reputation carries respect throughout all the nations of the land, however, her skills at diplomacy and money handling are… lacking, to say the least.

[]Hoster the Slayer: The Monster of Schland, the sacker of Dragon's tooth, the Slayer of the Dragon Galdron. He is a Schwarzen hailing from Bhymholme, one of the great cites along the Merga River, and the greatest leader of heroes who have ever lived. With his guild "The Stormcrawlers" He led them on expeditions and adventures that saw the defeat of the Last Giant Jurmagon before it could shatter the continent in two, lead the Armies of Emperor Schwarze to victory against Apria, at the battle of Summerborough. But it was alone where he slew Galdron the Dragon for threatening his city, did he rise above his guild and become a legend on his own. His skill at command and leading an organization before becoming headmaster, along with his reputation as a Dragon Slayer, will cause dozens to flock to his school. However, his brutality and cruelty to anyone not a Schwarzen will make things difficult… Both for him, his staff, and all the students who may come to his academy.

[]I don't like these charecters, let us make our own!

AN: Enjoy.
