So, closer to being on topic, could Anna be the turtle for a philosopher (Type Zero Antagonist) ? Who is the vulture? Coke Zero? Why is Coke Zero throwing turtles?

Other reasons Anna is a turtle: others are trying to get her to come out of her shell.

These are all questions that need answers.

I admit, with the long pause at page 999, and Avalanche previously saying they'd shoot for a Halloween update (which does of course mean 3-5 months later), that the first four digit page would also have a new chapter. Alas, this looks less and less likely.

Well, if the stars are working for the Antagonists, you are lucky that I happen to have a spare Sun Crusher ready and waiting. Not like Anna could use the spare any less properly than the original was used. In other news, cheers for one thousand pages of BAHHSCQ.
 
It's also an anime, but I think that it's marketed towards people already invested in the characters from the VN.
I found the characters melodramatic and overblown, the backstories unsympathetic, and the mecha fights make A/Z look good.

Visual novel. Major source of inspiration for this quest.

Started out as a rom-com. Sequels progressed into a sci-fi post-apocalyptic alien invasion tale with time travel shenanigans, incompetent human leaders, and rampant human misery.

The latter iterations got spinoffs, two of which were turned into anime adaptations with mixed success.

Made it just in time for 1000 pages, whew.

So as part of this little project I'm working on, I ended up running the numbers for (almost) every country in the world to figure out who the big dogs are after Impact.
I tried to get the world population under 1 billion in accordance with various calculations done in this thread, but the best I could manage without compromising too much was 1.5 billion. Close enough right?
I also somehow managed to misplace 300 million people somewhere, but who cares.

BAHHSCQ Nations Post-Impact
Don't mind the references to "CPs" or "scenario". Everything is proceeding according to it.

Methodology used:
  1. Use the nation's 2012 population and GDP(PPP) numbers as a base.
  2. Subtract the population of any identifiable cities or regions lost to floods or nukes.
  3. Apply an arbitrary multiplier based on local circumstances, e.g. nukes, flooding, existing food insecurity, recent history of civil unrest, etc.
  4. Reduce GDP in proportion to the lost population.
This mostly assumes that the nation keeps doing what it did previously, with no change in the standard of living (hardly likely, considering the post-Impact environment), and doesn't account for lost industry or anything like that. However, I'm quite happy with the current numbers, so I probably won't make too many major changes.
Oh well, GDP is a spook anyway, the absolute numbers don't really matter that much here. They only matter relative to other nations.

This is all very rough numbers, if anyone has a better idea or thinks their homeland was unfairly maligned, feel free to fiddle around with it.

Also, I completely forgot to post this when I brought up the subject before, so here, something else to celebrate 1000 pages:
 
Huh, would have thought Anna would be higher on Cyber-optimization then Coke-zero considering what she did to her own body. Or is that the extreme regard for the sanctity of other humans pulling down her willingness to APPLY UPGRADES?
