My interpretation of the Chain from SoraMoto's
King of the Wild. It's unlikely to be canon, but I found it amusing when I wrote it. Written with permission from SoraMoto.
I wrote this in about three hours with minimal editing, I hope you all enjoy!
-The Chain-
Four ambushes. Four. The Chain hadn't been in this era long, only three days now, and they have been hit by no less than four groups of monsters. The first of which they had been dropped into the middle of by the latest portal, and had been a
mess to deal with, requiring no less than
seven of Wilds strongest hearty elixirs, not to mention a trio of fairies, after the battle to heal everyone up enough to move on in case any monstrous reinforcements were on their way.
They ran into said reinforcements less than two hours later, which were, thankfully, dealt with with much greater ease than the first group. The next two days held to a pattern, wake up, walk for a few hours, be ambushed, walk for a few more hours after killing off the monsters
in said ambush, make camp, and sleep.
The entire time, there was an aura of darkness blanketing the forest The Chain was marching through. It made shadows deeper, monsters harder to spot. The entire group was feeling paranoid, jumpy and irritable because of it. The only upside anyone could find is that Legend recognized the forest they were in being not only in his era, but also not far off from his home.
So here they were, trudging through the forest towards Legend's house. Somewhere they could actually rest for a few days and figure out what they need to find/kill/otherwise-deal-with before moving on through the next portal.
Hopefully they can get some actual
rest when they get to Legend's abode to recover and get their bearings.

-Ravio-
The Darks have been living in his home for about 2 weeks now and Ravio was getting rather tired of their presence in his abode. (Granted, he
did share it with Link, when the hero was around... But the Hero was generally pleasant company and a wonderful, if prickly, roommate and landlord to be around, the Darks… much too chaotic for his tastes,
thank you very much.) And so, he was
very pleased to learn that the Dark nicknamed Doppel could sense the arrival of his Light self. Inquiring to the others about sensing
their light halves earned him the pleasant news that they, too, could sense their light halves approaching.
After the five shadowy versions of Mr. Hero and his various alternates had unceremoniously been dropped into his shops storeroom, he had been… less than pleased… to learn that they couldn't track where the Chain would be heading, and thus, had no idea where or when they would end up next, let alone when they would be dropping in
here to retrieve them so that the Darks could provide aid to the Heroes on their journey. Needless to say, after two weeks, Ravio was
done with their shit and wanted to be rid of the Darks. He had been wondering when Link and his counterparts would arrive to take them off his hands… Now he knew.
After learning of the Heroes soon-to-be arrival Ravio had prepared things in the house to not only receive them and welcome them to rest for a time, (For they would surely need it after long months traversing Hyrule past and future,) But also to introduce and explain the circumstances behind the Darks appearance and how they want to help out.
Nothing could go wrong with this, right? Right? Oh Goddesses, how Ravio hoped nothing would go wrong…

-The Chain-
It was approaching noon when they came to the door of Legend's home. Upon approach, it was noticed by most of the Chain that their newest member seemed to be growing more and more tense as Legend's home drew near. It is also needful to note that Hyrule, Four, Time, Warriors, and Legend himself were feeling similarly uneasy. To them, it was a crawling feeling running up their spines that made them tense and uneasy. Wild, however, noted that it felt like a shadow made physical that happened to be running it's fingers up his spine.
Twilight, Wind and Sky were confused when this statement made the other five heroes
more alert and wary, except in Four's case. He actually seemed to
relax a little at the news before looking both confused and alarmed at the other five increasingly wary heroes and hissed, "Wait! You have a Dark too?!"
"I don't know what that is… but I think they do…" Wild responded, looking at Wars, Hyrule, Time and Legend.
"I do…" "Yes… Unfortunately" "Correct." and "Yup, and He's an ass." came from each Hero respectively.
When they refused to elaborate beyond, "You'll likely see in a moment, just be ready for a harder battle than usual." there was much uncomfortable shifting, but each Hero readied themselves nevertheless.
So it was with much surprise that Legend opened up his door and invited them in to a calm, and mostly uninhabited entryway and living room. The sole occupant was a dark haired male wearing, to Wild, a
very familiar piece of headwear. The others relaxed somewhat at seeing him and asked if he was Ravio. After gaining confirmation on this, Wild's brothers informed him that Ravio is Legend's roommate. Said roommate promptly started teasing Legend about talking about him behind his back… This caused a minor and not-very-heated (not to mention rather entertaining) argument about the nature of their
strictly platonic and stop making it weird, Ravio relationship.
This minor spat seemed to get most of the chain to relax almost completely as they saw that nothing was amiss in the house…
Most. Wild, on the other hand, was incredibly familiar with having to deal with stab-happy Yiga that weren't afraid to break into someone's house to murder them in their sleep. Wild didn't suspect the hooded merchant of having such motives due to the entirely natural and relaxed interactions that he was having with Legend. Small things that are incredibly hard to fake and went mostly unnoticed by the parties in question, and lead to Legend asking Ravio thus; "So, who are they?"
Freezing, Ravio stumbled slightly over his words, "Wh-what do you mean, Mr. Hero?"
"Don't play that game with me, Ravio, I mean the people in the closet over there." Legend blithely responded as he gestured down a side hall wide enough for any three of the heroes to comfortably walk down shoulder to shoulder.
Wild, who was nearest to said hall, heard incomprehensible mutters and hushed whispers emerge from behind the first door to the right as he looked down it. The rest of the Chain seemed to hear it too, seeing as they tensed and the room lost it's previously comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
Ravio was quick to try and diffuse the growing tension by jumping up and mentioning something about "Guests that most of you know who are here to try and give aid to your Time-spanning Quest," but wild wasn't really listening, however. For, in the middle of Ravio's flowery speech, the door that Wild had heard the whispers from opened, revealing an arm that seemed to be made of living shadow for but a moment before being unceremoniously
yanked back in by an unseen force. The whispers emerging from the room were now
quite audible and comprehensible, due to the fact that the door was now open.
Wild approached the door without fear even as the whole room heard the harsh whisper, "
Not you Echo, they think you're an enemy, Shadow is a known-friendly by Four!" "Ravio is taking too long, and I, for one, don't feel like becoming a skew-eep!"
The reason for the 'eep'? Wild had arrived at the door and had yanked it open, revealing five shadowy echoes of several of his brothers. Staring into the room with an emotionless gaze, Wild noted that the five seemed to be the source of the shadowy aura filling the forest the last few days. He
also noted that they had mentioned one of them being a 'known friendly' and, he assumed, not wanting to become a skewer. So, he wouldn't kill them. Yet.
That did
not, however remove the option of roughing them up a little for all the headaches they had caused due to the shadowy aura they were projecting. A small grin formed across his face at that thought and it only grew at the small "Oh,
fuck" that one of the Darks uttered. He stepped into the room.
The Chain and Ravio froze as Wild stepped into the side room, out of sight. The sudden sound of crashing caused them all to jump back slightly. Time and Wars jumped forward to help Wild as the thumps and crashes grew in intensity. They were stopped when, out of the door flew what was unmistakably a Dark Link that looked quite a bit like Legend, to slam into the opposite wall, upside down, and slump down, dazed. A moment later, a Dark Link that looked like he was Hyrule's shadowy other tumbled out at speed and slammed into the first's stomach, slumping down equally disoriented.
The entirety of the Chain, minus Wild, and Ravio stared
dumbfounded as three more Dark links were systematically
beaten and bodily thrown into the growing pile of groaning shadows. The last one, looking like Warriors, slammed headfirst into the wall as the other Darks managed to scramble out of the way, if barely.
Then, out of the room stepped Wild, completely unruffled and looking like he had just done something as mundane as chopping wood, dusting his hands. Glancing at his slack jawed audience and looking
quite refreshed, he opened his arms in what seems to be a universal
'what?' gesture. Stepping over to the rather frightened looking Dark Links, who shied away from the Hero of the Wilds, the man crossed his arms, looked down his nose at the quintet and raised his eyebrow, "Ready to explain yourselves?"
A meek nod from all five was the only response he received.

Approximately ten minutes later the five Dark links were seated on the couch Ravio had been sitting on when the Chain arrived, each with a cup of tea in hand and looking
very contrite and uncomfortable, gazing up at the nine standing, heavily-armed and less-than-pleased-looking heroes facing them.
Four's doppelganger gulped slightly in terror and sipped at his tea while Time's looked like he wanted the couch to swallow him up. The other three weren't much different. All five were shooting Wild looks of utmost terror, even as said hero sipped daintily at his own cup of tea and relaxed.
'Welp,' thought Ravio,
'That certainly could have gone better.'
