Attempting to Fulfill the Plan MNKh Edition

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Just to do another round of advocacy for my plan I would like to point out even if we have moved on from the 60's we are still a deeply sexist country especially in the top ranks. This means that if Bala keep promoting women it will reflect badly on him as it makes him look insecure in his position and his ministry weak as it is "filled" with women who are inferior in their mind.
On a more fun note not Is that a Metal Gear reference is a funny plan name and i think that should convince everybody to vote for that plan.

Honestly, given that we only get one turn per year and only make promotion decisions every few turns, I don't think this is a problem. Balakirev's prestige can't suffer that much from it, and he'll be gone before it comes up that many more times.

Plus, of course, the part where the trend is institutional sexism probably/hopefully getting significantly weaker over time. In 1967 appointing a woman would have been seen as really unusual. In 1977 it's raising eyebrows. By 1987, fewer eyebrows.

I agree it has gotten better and it is probably going to be better int 10 years the problem is just that we aren't there yet. I do not think this is in any way game ending i just think it is going to give Bala some more resistance especially from the voro wing of the party. This can still be overcome but Bala right now has inherited a women as a service minister and then proceeded to give deputy to one and now when he gets to pick for infra if he picks another it will set a precedence in other politicans minds.

As long as she's a deputy to a sufficiently higher up minister, it shouldn't matter too much, and her being paired up with a Ryzhkovite minister should mean that conservative wing of the party shouldn't undermine her too much.

I'm not very in touch with our political situation. What's the basis for being so needy to show Ryzhkov favor that it's worth it to promote a new infra head primarily for their political leanings despite their unfavorable specialization? Have we been overly favoring Vorotnikov lately to the point Ryzz is worried?

If I considered politics at all I tried getting the Vorotnikov man in, I figured more of the pro-cybernetics faction in the top levels would be good.
There's not a specific desperate need, just generally trying to consolidate our position in the Supreme Soviet and to a lesser extent within the Ministry as preparation for further maneuvering. Whether that's trying to break into a Party-side position of power ourself, or going rogue and trying to unilaterally address securing oil supplies without the help of the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs, or whatever else we want to go out on a limb for in the next year or two.

Considering the girlboss we can bring in now is in the Voro wing, if only vaguely, I don't think they'll take issue with it. Though I don't think they'd take issue with it anyway tbh

The girl bosses are going to be in hell there is going to be a a lot of mansplaining at them and if they don't shoot up the ministry because of that I will be surprised.

An argument for girlboss to girlboss communication: Chistoplysov is actually a very fun figure, in that he was one of Bala's competitors for the position of deputy minister back in the day (he would have given agri dice back then). He's also a ball of degrees with majors in agronomy and mechanical engineering and a minor in economics, who in OTL did mining engineering instead of mechanical engineering. He pioneered cold climate agricultural techniques back in the 60s, and now he's a rural and arctic infrastructure expert.

He's just a very funny man in general and I want to see him succeed alongside Dementieva.

Edit: also here's imagines of all the candidates
Khristorodnov

Zaikov

Chistoplysov

Zubov

Dementieva

Sokolov

Litvinsev

Soviet Tom Hanks, Very Lost Man Photobombing a More Major Figure, Thousand Mile Stare Lad, Generic Politics Man, Girlboss, Soviet Science Dilf, and Bored Guy About To Yawn.

Truly a list of people. Incidentally we've got Sokolov's pictures from like, his childhood to his early 20s to his 80s on the internet.

When he was younger than in the shared photo Chistoplysov looked a bit like Tom Scott, as someone pointed out on the discord. Meanwhile, Sokolov eventually just becomes a more photogenically aged version of Stephen King.

Anyways, whether we go for metal gear reference or see a massive upswell of support for girlboss to girlboss communication, we can count on having one of the most handsome soviet politicians in office, both being extremely highly educated, whereas if we go for Yet Another Girlboss we end up with some guy who looks kind of like a used car salesman.
