Now in fairness Del Toro is only producing, and not even sure if it's a Wendigo they're dealing with but that's my impression of what seems like a really promising supernatural creature feature thriller that reminds me of The Ritual.

It's based on the short story 'The Quiet Boy' by Nick Antosca that can read for free below, though I hope it won't end on the same downer.

I looked up the director, and all of his movies were either bad or mediocre, so I won't get my hopes up that much.

Getting really sick of wendigos with antlers.

EDIT: having read the short story, I'm not so sure this is a wendigo story after all. There are elements that suggest that a bit, but overall it comes across as more Satanic. The story's very simple and leaves most of what happens unexplained, so I suspect the movie will expand on that, maybe add in some worldbuilding, which could include more blatant wendigo aspects. We'll see.
