What does it mean, really, to be 'unforgivable?' Unpardonable, or indefensible, inexcusable. Does it mean doing a single thing that's so bad, it can't ever be forgotten? Or is it something slower, a pattern of behavior so steeped in malice and willful ignorance that there can be no justification for its continued sufferance? Or is it only when both these collide, when there's a final tipping point, a cliff along a lifetime of unrepentant hurts?

Or is it me?

Standing in the freezing rain, staring at the lovingly gift-wrapped ruin of my mother's flute, delivered right to my doorstep, I feel everything that is contradictory. A swelling emotion in my chest like I'm about to burst, a numbness spreading from the wet ice and flakes on my head and shoulders and dripping through my bones, a hateful raging fire in my throat. I feel like I'm falling and standing still and spinning. Merry Christmas, Taylor Hebert. Love, Emma. Love, Sophia. Love, this whole miserable cesspit of a city.

I find myself on my knees, gripping the flute and baring my teeth like I'm going to snap it in half, and I don't recall any point between now and opening the present. The moon is out behind the snow-swollen clouds, and there is something new inside me. Something restless and hungry, something angry. Something strong. It wants out, and I let it, because I am unforgivable: I am incapable of forgiveness.

Character Sheet

Taylor is a Changer, a type of parahuman who changes their physical form. She has a pre-determined selection of forms to choose from, each one based on an antagonist from a fairy tale, a classic book, or film. Each of these forms has its own role to play, and its own powers to aid it. Though she starts with only two, victory over her enemies will allow her to unlock more forms, and more powerful forms. They are ranked in tiers, from 1-5, and through use can be upgraded to become more powerful.

As a parahuman, Taylor is now living a double life. During the day, she needs to go to school, take care of her own needs, and avoid trouble. At night, her power activates, and she can hunt down and punish a target of her choosing.

Readers will be prompted to choose targets for Taylor to pursue. These votes can be vague (such as unpowered criminals from X gang, or to patrol a certain area) or specific (named villains or heroes, specific civilians, specific acts). At the same time, readers will be asked to choose a form for that particular hunt; these votes are linked, so (Quarry: Kaiser/Form: Red Bull) is distinct from (Quarry:Kaiser/Form:Horned King). Making a careful plan of attack is invaluable, as different forms have different strengths and vulnerabilities. It is recommended that the thread corroborate to choose Taylor's actions. Not every Tier will be visible from the start, and forms that are visible but greyed out have not been unlocked.

There are many targets available, and just as many reasons to go over them; it doesn't have to be over a grudge. Taylor is an antagonist by nature, and some monsters exist to provide worthy opponents.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hunt Points: 30

Successful hunts will earn Hunt Points, that can be used to unlock new Antagonists or upgrade existing ones. There are a few ways to earn bonus points, including thread participation (omakes, clever plans) and acting in accordance with an antagonist's nature; for example, Shere Khan is best suited to acquiring or patrolling a territory, while The Red Bull is most effective when targeting a specific person.

Buying upgrades is not sequential; you can choose which upgrade to buy first at the cheapest price, then second at the middle price, and third at the most expensive. Unlocking a new antagonist is similar: pay the cheapest listed price for whichever you unlock first, and the higher price for whichever is second. You do not have to buy all antagonists in a tier, but you do need to have one of them to unlock the next tier.

Neat quest. I'm partial to hunting down Sophia as the Big Bad Wolf, but that relies on the meta knowledge of knowing that she's Shadow Stalker.
And it's not unlocked yet, anyway.

Oh now this is very interesting.
Taylor is an antagonist by nature, and some monsters exist to provide worthy opponents.
Does this mean that we can go after a hero mainly not to defeat them but act as a strong enemy for them and they can get stronger if they defeat us?

On another note who should be our first target and as which monster?

The Red Bull against Hookwolf sounds good since he will be unable to harm us and he cannot run away at all.

[X] Quarry: Sophia / Form: Red Bull
-[X] It was her who changed Emma so. She is the cause for all your troubles and woe.

Name: The Red Bull

Because you cannot possibly go wrong with the heavy from The Last Unicorn because he is utterly fucking terrifying.

[X] Target: E88/Hookwolf

Because we are in the mood to break something into tiny tiny pieces; what better target than a human blender. Let them learn to fear the dread tread of our hooves. DRIVE HIM INTO THE SEA.

So just to clarify we only get forms of Villains from media right? Also can we suggest a form?

There's a pre-selected list of 12 forms, though you only have the first level unlocked (which makes the level after at least visible). You can PM me a form to consider adding if you really want, but I'll want a justification and basic power set for it.

Basically yes.

Question:
Does the fiction our forms come from exist in universe?
For example if we turn into shere Khan will people eventually go 'Oh wait, she's turned into that guy from the Jungle Book'

Edit: Also the red bulls invulnerability. I guess you mean that punching or stabbing us will do nothing, but lungs fire and puritys blasts will hurt us.
Just making sure

I stole this purely cause I am lazy and typing on mobile

People going for Hookwolf - we might have to deal with the other members of the E88. Does physical attack immunity help against all of them, or no? There's a couple I'm not sure on, like Fog, Stormtiger, Purity, maybe some others. We also don't know if there're any OC capes to deal with that might cause issues on top of that.

Also, I think we're expected to provide a plan of action. :p

This seems like a good choice, you have my vote for it.

[X] (Quarry:Hookwolf/Form: Red Bull)

@UnwelcomeStorm Can we use Quarry Sense to periodically switch targets to other known E88 capes so we can make sure he is alone when we attack? (use quarry sense as a kind of makeshift radar.)

How about we try a less challenging target first? Like the Merchants? Drugs are literal poison and they don't have any exotic powers that I can remember.

Remember, we get more power for winning a fight. Let's start from a lower tier first, then escalate.

[X] Quarry: Merchants/Form: Red Bull

Merchants seem like a safer choice than the other gangs or even Sophia; not sure how our semi-invulnerability to physical attacks will hold up against phasing bolts and more esoteric cape attacks. Though I suppose Squealer could possibly give us some trouble depending on what Tinker bullshit happens.

...inb4 Taylor stops the Endbringers by taking on their role.

People don't forget to also vote for plan of action. It's one thing to vote for target and form but we also need to choose how to go about it.

[X] (Quarry:Hookwolf/Form: Red Bull)
-[X] Wait until he is alone and rush down upon him at full speed.

[X] (Action: Patrol Merchant Territory/Form: Shere Khan)
- [X] It shouldn't be hard to figure out what territory the Merchants 'control', and they're the least likely to kill us outright. Lets do some good before we seek out greater challenges.
- [X] Any amount of disruption we cause could lead us to higher value targets. Whether it's destroying a drug den or disrupting deals.
- [X] All organizations that deal in supply must have places to store materials at and transport materials from. If we find them, destroy them. See if we can use one den to lead us to another.

Voting for this. Merchants are just disgusting and while drugs aren't the start of a society's problems they appear to expedite its decay. Plus, they lack power so this is a good training wheel for us.

Out of curiosity, could Shere Khan stalk Coil and take him out before he knows he is in danger?
