Interesting. I didn't see that bit about our bear being based on a Mega Man boss... probably because I didn't read anything but the threadmarks. Does give me ideas for some stage bosses, though:

For an underwater stage, I'd suggest this guy:

What can I say, I'm a fan of the classics.

Or, for a more immediate design for our lumber yard:

Not sure if we should go for him, though; multiple bear bosses could indicate us falling into a rut. As an alternative:

Not quite as thematic since he probably can't cut down trees himself, but still fits a forest stage.

Those are some good designs my plan for a limb yard boss was an owl based off of monster hunters Malfestio.
 
Was searching google images some and ended up being reminded about one of the Sonic X E-series.

What if we did something involving E-91?

...kinda want to do a ninja team now. Or maybe alternatively a Espionage in general theamed team. With the ninja, a spy possibly, I'm not sure.
 
So many useful badniks to make so little time after all a stealth team would be useful, our first team is all about taking on the heros so having a black ops group to commit sabotage would be incredibly nice.

On that note: What would Metal Rouge entail?

Metal Espio, obviously, would be stuffed full of every stealth technology we've got, including smokescreens, camo, maybe flat-out invisibility, teleportation if we can figure it out...

Honestly I don't know what Metal Rouge would have she's more of an infiltrator so maybe a way to hide in plain sight like a disguise kit?
