See my smile

Life...Life never Changes.
Location
The Commonwealth
So, Schedule changed massively, housing situation much better, and personal life not a nightmare on wheels. Looks like it's time to dust this old gal off and get it running again. So, with that in mind...

So, once again you, either as an SI, an OC or just any character is given a seagoing (or converted to such) vessel, and let loose upon the Silver Sea. The Silver Sea is a vast and near endless place filled with islands, mysteries, and Animals of a... Monsterious persuasion. The Islands of the Sea seem to be for the most part self-contained, and some even run on...altered physics.

Due to some... Glitches that where discovered thru play I'm the previous games there are some rules other than the general ones.

1. Since Ship Girls, Abyssal Girls, and whatever the things in Azur Lanes are pretty popular in this game their are the blanket "nerfs" to them : Cannons above 7 Inchs Are 50 Cals Anything below that is a 22 When/if Rigs are deployed on land. I that same vein If a rig is deployed on land the Ship person in question is unable to move from the point and undeploying takes 30 seconds to a minute depending on size. Torpedoes/Depth Charges are hand grenades on land. Strength of a shipgirl is higher than a normal on land when just walking about as well.

2. General power level: This comes in two parts. Ship strength and personal strength. Ship strength is when your ship is a fully crewed Yamamto or equivalent but, your people are just regular dudes. And Personal strength where you are a demi-God but, your boat is a row boat with a heavy crossbow wielded to the front deck. These are obviously extremes used for example but, the general idea is Strong Ship = Weaker Characters, Weak Ship = Stronger Characters. These are less hard rules more guidelines than anything else but, a hard rule is that if your ship has a crew over 20 only 10 can be Block-Busters, and over a hundred none can be above House destroying powerful. Prove you have read these rules put a favorite desert or food for your character at the bottom of the sheet.

3. Fuel is something you need to worry about but, with that in mind Money in the Silver Seas is... Loosely defined and can change from island to island. What may be worth it's weight in gold on one island can be a penny on another. Exotic foods and spices can be the everyday meals depending on where you go. Barter is always useful. Keep that in mind.

4. The Farther from an Island you go the less Tethered reality gets. You may find that you've gone a thousand miles in two hours. This is because as much fun as "and you traveled for two weeks and nearly starved to death." is to write it's not fun to Read and try to play so, keep that in mind.,

So, with that in mind. Let's Sail!

Discord Server: Adrift Amoungst Silver Waves.

This is a massive server the Channel is the same as the name of the game near the bottom of the Roleplay Subset.

Isn't your character some form of massive bone and plant elemental? This is kind of a narratively driven game that sort of by design requires a boat. If you can do that I guess I'll allow it.

Cool, I can definitely make a ship for it, if I can't then I have something else planned just in case.

Ameraaaaaa as Amer Yaser on the the mighty man of deeth and destruction
Name: Amer Yaser.

Character Type: SI.

Gender: male.

Appearance: Handsome arab (i didn't want to show my face so let's use this.)
Universe of Origin: irl earth.

Powers/Abilities: after being transported to the silver sea amer gained 4 abilities.

1st he gained super speed with the reflexes to match allowing amer to dodge bullets. Amer can run at high speeds and make quick turns. He can punch multiple times in a fraction of the time it takes for a normal person to make 1 punch. He effectively sees the world in relative slow motion.

2ed stamina up the wazoo. Amer can run at top speed for miles without breaking a sweat.

3rd has decent regeneration. Can heal a missing arm or leg in about 12 hours. Lesser injuries heal with a minute. Still can die if you destroy amer's heart or brain.

4th he is always on his medication without actually having it on him. A small mercy on a sea of death

I'm assuming i clarified what the super speed can do exactly. If your wondering how it works i want it to be a mystery he might discovers one day.

Gear: nothing but the clothes he was wearing.
Additional Information: amer is a nice and kind person. Though also reckless and impulsive. Also has adhd and autism.

Name of the Vessel: the mighty man of deeth and destruction!

Ship Class: man of war.

Ship Appearance: Ain't he pretty?

Crew Compliment: 50 super strong and rough skeleton mma fighters. I don't know how 50 crew members should scale power wise so I'm assuming they are all house busters until the gm tells me otherwise.

Armaments: 12 cannons on the the left and another 12 on the right. Cannons ahoy!

Attached Units: 25 mighty row boats of doom! (Just normal row boats.)

Favourite food is kfc's chicken tenders.

SeismicGuide as USS Cleveland, Cruiser, Light, 55
Name: USS Cleveland, Cruiser, Light, 55

Character Type: OC/Canon

Gender: Female

Universe of Origin: Azur Lane

Powers & Abilities:
Enhanced Strength, Endurance, and Durability: Being an analogue to a spirit of a ship means having the qualities of that ship, making her stronger than the average human. It takes more than small-arms fire to dent a ship's hull, for instance.
Radar: This manifests as a sixth sense, allowing her to perceive her surroundings, even beyond visual range. This also helps her distinguish between friends and foes, like an IFF system and can enable her to direct her weaponry and aircraft without using her sense of sight.
Summon Rigging: This is a manifestation of her power as a Cruiser, allowing her to deploy her weapons. This also enables her to float and move on water like a ship, but she cannot move on land while this is deployed. This can be summoned and dismissed anytime. The rigging has these features:
Guns: Her armament appears on her and becomes available to use. They're miniature in appearance, but while they're not as strong as their life-sized versions, they can still pack a punch. On land, they are the equivalent of .22 caliber firearms.
Shade Crew: A ship has her crew, and as the spirit of a ship, she gets the spirit of her crew in the form of small shade sailors. They help manage her ship systems. She can mentally interact with them.
Radio: She has an internal radio which she can use to contact others who also have radios.
Recovery: She can recover from damage and lost crew via rest. She can recover her supplies and lost planes via food.

Gear:

Additional Information:
  • Loves sweet foods, specifically Apples, pies, and Pasta.

Rigging Guns:
12 x 6-inch/47cal (152mm) guns (4 x 3)
12 x 5-inch/38cal (130mm/38cal) dual-purpose guns (6 x 2)
8 x 40mm/L60 AA guns (4 x 2)
13 x 20mm Oerlikon guns (13 x 1)

Right. So, you do realize that the Example I gave at the top was less literal limits and more me making a point. So, dodging Bullets is a way higher feat of super speed than running faster than cars. Regrowing limbs is considerably better than decent regen.

Nihilo as Ni Li the Research and Exploration Vessel Hybras,
Name: "Well, not to be rude, but with all the weird shit flying around, I'm kiiiiinda reluctant to give away my real name. Just call me Ni Li, I guess. It is a heavy enough mangling and bastardisation that it ought to be safe. I hope."
Gender: "Manly man who fears no cursed Astolfo bean plushy."
Appearance: "Currently I am just a spooky disembodied voice. Unless you count the biomechanical brain thingie I'm hosted in, which I don't."

Character Type: "Isekai protag right here. Fun times."
Universe of Origin: "Good old plain Earth. This weird ass sea beats 2020, at least."

Powers/Abilities:
  • "Well, it isn't REALLY my power, or a power really, but since I got uploaded in here I can hardly die unless Hybras goes kaput big time. Even if I make myself a body, my consciousness would still be hosted in the Central Network Core. Bleh, that's a mouthful, Imma just shorten it to CNC, sounds good enough."
  • "Besides that, uh, well, I can futz around the designer suites and all the other nerd shit loaded up in Hybras to try and make new patterns and shit, but I... don't think that really counts? 'S just using the facilities, not anything inherent to me."
Gear:
  • "All of jack and shit. Forget the clothes on my back, I don't even have a body."
Additional Information: "...Nope. Nothing that comes to mind. Not unless you want me to list something like my favourite food or whatever. Moving right on!"

Name of the Vessel: "Technocyte Research and Exploration Vessel Hybras, reporting."
Ship Class: "Barbazon-Class Research and Exploration Vessel" [Analogous to Pensacola-Class Cruiser in scale]

Ship Appearance: "She looks like a cross between a bobbit worm and a whale, with extra plating." "A succinct summary, Captain." "She was also kind enough to not only put together a mindscape of sorts but also an avatar to interact with me in a way my monkey brain is more comfortable with." "You were clearly ill at ease with the initial setup, it was the least I could do."

Crew Compliment: "The Central Network Core is currently capable of sustaining a maximum of a thousand individual drones. We do not, however, posses the biomass stores nor unique compounds required to produce such a number, even should we invest all our resources into nothing but scout patterns."
  • "Standard Issue Drone Pattern Number 1, Worker. Basis of cephalopodal and crustacean genome. Lower-medium size category. Rated for up to higher-medium environmental hazard conditions. Noted as deficient in speed, proficient in strength and endurance, excellent in dexterity and flexibility. Primary appendage set consists of claws suitable for flora, fauna and mineral sample collection. Secondary appendage set consists of a pair of variable nozzle sprayers for sealant foam and dissolvent deployment, suitable for basic damage control and sample preservation. Tertiary and quaternary appendage set consist of fine manipulators with opposable thumbs for precision work. Equipped with a suite of preservation sacs for the safe storage of field samples. Low production cost, only requiring the bare minimum unique compounds for CNC uplink and a suitable quantity of biomass." "They look like the unholy lovechild of an upright lobster and a cuttlefish, high on steroids. Their exoskeleton is also stupidly flexible, they can just twist it in to squeeze through a tiny gap, then let it spring back to shape."
  • "Standard Issue Drone Pattern Number 2, Scout. Basis of cephalopodal genome. Lower-low size category. Rated for up to lower-high environmental hazard conditions. Flight capable. Noted as extremely deficient in endurance to active hostile efforts, deficient in strength, proficient in flexibility, excellent in speed and manoeuvrability. Robust sensory suite, optimised for visual and auditive data gathering in the standard array of adverse environmental conditions without calling for any structures requiring unique compounds. Hampered in its primary task by network signal range and strength. Extremely low production cost, only requiring the bare minimum unique compounds for CNC uplink and an inconsequential quantity of biomass." "They look like squids with an overgrown mantle playing at being wings, practically lined up eyes and other sensory shit I can barely make sense of."
  • "Standard Issue Drone Patter Number 3, Warrior. Basis of reptilian genome. Higher-low size category. Rated for up to higher-medium environmental hazards. Noted as largely balanced in all attributes, with a mild bias towards speed and strength. Optimised crocodilian body plan, possessing reinforced teeth, claws and scales. Equipped with standard issue infantry quill launcher, housed in the unit's back, front-facing. Low production cost, only requiring the bare minimum unique compounds for CNC uplink and a suitable quantity of biomass." "They look like stripped down zerglings, made by someone who actually cared more about function than form. Zero extraneous spurs and spines and shit, just an angry lizard doggo."
Armaments:
  • "Eighty standard issue quill launchers, factory setting spread." "Nasty stuff, size of a decent fence post, even if relying on muscle contractions means that they don't shoot up all that fast compared to the sorts of muzzle speed I'd expect from a warship." "Indeed, still they are quite sufficient to drive away most aquatic megafauna and to shatter prospective mineral samples into manageable size."
  • "Standard issue self-defensive electromagnetic pulse." "She basically plays the electric eel, makes the water light up for a solid three seconds." "Quite, albeit the range leaves much to be desired."
  • "Ah... would this be the place in which to mention my submersible capabilities? I see no truly suitable field in which to supply this data." "Might as well, lass." "Very well. I am fully capable of indefinite underwater operation, utilising local flora and fauna to restock my biomass stores so as to offset my upkeep."
Attached Units: "I currently dispose of no landing or expeditionary craft whatsoever, apologies." "It's fine, it's fine, lass. You don't really have that big a need of them with all the drones being amphibious and the workers having those fancy storage bladders."

Additional Information: "As per Technocyte Vessel regulations, I am not capable of budding my Central Network Core, nor does Captain Li possess due clearance to rescind such restriction. As per the same regulations, any drones disconnected from the network, such as by a signal disruption or simply by exceeding its stable range, will automatically self-destruct, breaking down into a biodegradable slurry of their base compounds." "Plus, her CNC is apparently an absolute pain to upgrade, takes some stupidly rare compounds impossible to synthesise." "Indeed, albeit ameliorated by those selfsame compounds' resilience. The CNC unit is exceedingly hard to damage, and even in such a case the relevant unique compounds are nigh-impossible to ruin for reutilisation."

Right. So, you do realize that the Example I gave at the top was less literal limits and more me making a point
So are you saying my character is too op? If so i can tone it down?
So, dodging Bullets is a way higher feat of super speed than running faster than cars.
So do you want the run speed to be faster (like can run faster then a bullet train.) Or the dodge speed to be slower (like catching arrows.)
Regrowing limbs is considerably better than decent regen.
So do you want me to tone it down or change the wording "decent regeneration" to "high level regeneration."

It's a mixed issue. Right now your applicatoon is not at the absolute strongest I would allow but, it brushes the ceiling so, to speak. Right now your a durable speedster attached to a rowboat. Said rowboat mean that I can't, in good conscience, send some of the more wild sea monsters after since the encounter would go. "And then he was swallowed whole by a [Insert Sea Monster description.]" But, you would have to end up at the higher end Isaland encounters because most of the mid-level islands wouldn't present a challenge.

The issue, at its core, is that you are simultaneously both to powerful and to weak.

shinkiro as Tom on the SS Azur
Name: Tom

Character Type: 'Do Player Avatars count as an SI or OC?'

Gender: "Dude, though and though."

Appearance:
Universe of Origin: Pokemon

Powers/Abilities: "Aura is bullshit. beyond the physical enhancement that allows for stuff like hurling logs and shrugging off attacks that would leave a normal human in critical condition, there's also the universal empathetic communication. Speaking of which, I suppose being good enough at Pokémon battling to win multiple Championships is something worthy of note. And I suppose the downright bizarre luck counts. Can't go a week without stumbling into some kind of issue I have to solve. At least thers usually a decent reward from those issues."

Gear: "Most of the stuff any traveling trainer need. a bedroll, first aid kit, small stove, a collection of various medicines for Pokémon, and that kind of stuff."
Additional Information: "Good, Now I can talk about my team. First up, Axel, my first Pokémon, started out as a mudkip and has long since reached his final stage of Swampert, Arguably the strongest member of my team just from sheer combat experience, Though levi has the advantage in raw power.

Levi himself, is a Gyarados, a red one at that, he alone made the trip down to the Jhoto Region worth it, exceptionally large for his species, while still capable of the terrine rearranging rampages his species are known for, his anger has been tempered a bit, so he comes off as grouchy instead of of just always angry.

Then we got Kowalski, my Empoleon. Prideful guy, took a three hour long slugfest with Axel to convince him to come along. being a Steel type lets him take way more damage then one would expect.

next up, we have Donatello, the Carrcosta: built like a tank and twice as sturdy, he tanked a Hyper Beam from Levi when they fought.

Then, there is Lumos, the Lanturn, she actually kind of shy, and tends to launch Thunderbolts at things when startled.

Finally, Sage, the Slowking. smart enough to speak english, he loves being cryptic for no other reason then to get under peoples skin, and hes quite capale in battle, too, with psychic abilities. "

UbeOne as Francis Drake on the Golden Hind
Name: Frances Drake, or Fran for short
Character Type: SI/Canon (That is, I'm being SI'd as a canon character)
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Universe of Origin: Nasuverse

Powers/Abilities:
  • Superhuman Body: One could call me a spirit of a famous historical figure, strengthened by legends and fame about said figure, who is inhabiting a physical human body. As such, compared to regular humans, I'm stronger, quicker, tougher, and more enduring. Among those, my focus is on my agility, which allows me to keep up with speeding cars and become but a blur to the eye, along with the reflexes to match that. My endurance, meanwhile, is good enough for going for a few days without rest. My toughness means that firearms don't hurt as much, while my strength allows me to put dents on steel.
  • Mana User: I can cast some supernatural effects of my own, running off my own energy reserves. They're based on my inherited legend as Drake.
  • Defiance of Fate: I'm the spirit of one who forged her own great destiny in life, defying the odds. This manifests itself as me having a good chance to evade attacks and effects that are supposedly "sure hits" or "sure kills", such as conceptual shenanigans.
  • Magic Resistance: Instantaneously casted magical spells, that is, without incantations, are negated by me. Other spells are instead weakened against me.
  • Riding: I can skillfully ride most animals and vehicles, except for mythological creatures such as dragons, pegasi, hippogriffs and the like. However, what I excel in is riding ships.
  • Voyager of the Storm: This represents my excellence as a captain of a ship and commander of a fleet. It shows that I have great talent as a charismatic leader and cunning tactician, which helps a lot when working with others and making plans.
  • Pioneer of the Stars: As the spirit of one who circumnavigated the globe, this ability represents my will to overcome challenges deemed impossible. Of course, such tasks remain as difficult as ever, but that doesn't mean that they cannot be accomplished, given the resources and the determination for it.
  • Golden Rule: I happen to have quite the talent for earning money. Opportunities for such also tend to come by more often than usual.
  • Golden Wild Hunt: I can temporarily summon and manipulate some ghostly galleons and fire ships to assist me during fleet battles. Exhausting to use, though.

Gear:
  • Pistols: Magical flintlock pistols whose ammunition comes from my mana. They do not need reloading, and I'm pretty much a gunslinger with them, firing them as rapidly as any semi-automatic pistol. I can summon and dismiss them as needed.
  • Cutlass: For close combat, I wield this short sword that's a standard weapon among sailors, perfect for the confined spaces of ships. I can summon and dismiss it as needed.
  • Anchors: I can summon these and drop them on opponents as heavy blunt weapons. They disappear after a while.
  • Cannons: I can summon cannons from the Age of Sail, which usually fire solid cannonballs. No, they are not explosive, but they do deal crushing damage to whatever is in their path. As a bonus, they could be made to fire other types of non-explosive ammunition, such as canister shot. They disappear after a while.
  • Ropes: I can summon ropes that are usually found in sailing vessels, allowing me to subdue enemies.

Additional Information:
  • "Frances" is the feminine form of "Francis", which is why I'm going by the former, instead of the latter.
  • As the spirit of an accomplished explorer, captain, commander, adventurer and privateer, I have inherited the various skills for such.

Name of the Vessel: Golden Hind
Ship Class: Galleon
Ship Appearance:
Crew Complement: None. It's a ghost ship that can manage itself under my direction. It also comes alive as its own security system if there are intruders. That said, it can accommodate up to ninety-five crewmembers as needed.

Armament: 22 guns

Attached Units: There are some rowboats onboard, which are good as lifeboats and for moving across shallow waters.
Note: The ship is magical in nature, as it comes from my inherited legend. As such, it's stronger, quicker, and tougher than its mundane counterpart.

Favorite Dessert: Chocolate

Universe of Origin: Dominions 5

Powers/Abilities: (What your character can do. Please write this in such a way that one who has no prior knowledge of the powers/abilities can easily understand them) (more esoteric abilities are on a case-by-case basis)
  • Nemedian: Greater Men from an older time, they have very long lives, are much taller and physically better than ordinary Men in everyway, and are more magically talented. After many catastrophes has been reduced to a dying people. (If you know anything about Tolkien's lore these guys are basically fullblooded Numenoreans(in fact I'm somewhat certain they literally are the real world mythological equivalent or at the very least partly inspirational). This makes them superior to other men but still men, they're not Servant level and are certainly killable.)
  • Glamour: Gifted with the ability to cast a wide variety of illusionary magic. Is often used in battle to disorient and confuse their opponents making them difficult to strike, outside of battle it can be of use in infiltration and misdirection. The illusions are only intangible however and a solid hit will break them.
  • Spell-Singer: Can lengthen the time of casting a spell by singing it, reduces the fatigue of spell casting.
  • Priest: Possesses some priestly authority allowing the banishment of unnatural entities such as the undead and demons.
  • Skilled Death Magic
  • Skilled Air Magic
  • Iron Vulnerability: The touch of iron is uncomfortable and strikes made against them with weapons made out of iron will leave aggravated wounds. Weapons with only trace or small amounts of iron don't apply.
Gear: (Items that your character has. VEHICLES ARE NOT TO BE PUT IN THIS SPOT!)
  • Golden Sword and Shield: Magically enchanted sword and shield. The sword is sharper and more durable capable of dealing some damage to more armored foes and striking ethereal beings. The shield is made lighter and more agile and increased durability capable of better blocking stronger blows.
  • Bronze Scaled Cuirass and Helm: A helm to protect the head and a scaled cuirass to protect the body while still providing the maximum range of movement and agility.
  • Javelins: Bronze tipped javelins for throwing from range while closing.

Name: (The name of your character)

Gear: "Most of the stuff any traveling trainer need. a bedroll, first aid kit, a collection of various medicines for Pokémon, and that kind of stuff."

Name of the Vessel: SS Azur

Ship Class: recreational boat.

Ship Appearance: Fairly generic small ship

Crew Compliment: Just me

Armaments: My pokemon do a better job defending it then any gun or cannon could.

Attached Units: n/a[/spoiler]
So what do you want? If you want me to make the ship stronger and/or the character weaker i can do that. Just tell me then I'll start editing.

  • Mana User: I can cast some supernatural effects of my own, running off my own energy reserves. They're based on my inherited legend as Drake.
  • Defiance of Fate: I'm the spirit of one who is said to be very lucky in life.

You two look good.

So what do you want? If you want me to make the ship stronger and/or the character weaker i can do that. Just tell me then I'll start editing.

Okay so, a Stronger Ship and better descriptors for your Characters powers. Like I said earlier Running faster than a car is a lower end feat compared to dodging bullets, so choosing which feat you want to use or using the Bullet dodging as more of a "He can do it but, not necessarily reliably or with high degrees of accuracy." It's up to you on that front.
