Hello there, everyone! Thought I'd try my hand at running this thing one more time. And this time, thanks to @Kensai, I actually have a co-GM (among other things) to help me out, so there's that. As for the story itself...

[---]

The year is 2049 AD, and the world has changed greatly. Owing to several crises over the past decades, tensions and skirmishes have broken out between the various power blocs, even as solutions are implemented and more and more people expand into space.

Owing to developments in the 1900s, combat commonly takes place between mechanical combatants-- or mechs. The sky and sea are still dominated by standard craft, and land vehicles still have their place, but most fights are now decided by giant robots. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with different weapons, power sources, and operating systems.

One of these blocs-- headed by Germany, the United Kingdom, and France-- has spawned a specialised organisation; "GEIST", whose base is located at Mt. Erebus in Antarctica, protected by a structure known as a Geofront. It is here that they are testing their newest experiment; the Synthetic Humanoid Battle Weapon "Evangelion".

Complications arise when a massive, anomalous entity appears nearby, destroys the security forces, and damages the base, leaving GEIST with the unfinished Evangelions as their only remaining defense. To make things
worse, the damages have killed almost all of the original Eva test pilots. The only people with adequate piloting abilities to use the Evas? The younger relatives of those same dead test pilots.

[---]

...That's where you guys come in. Should you choose to apply, you'd be playing as one of those relatives-- someone never intended to pilot, but the only option. With that said, I'd greatly appreciate any comments or ideas you have here, and will gladly take character concepts.

As you can guess, we're using AdEva 3.4, which can be found [HERE]. You'll need Google Drive.

Also tagging @Artifecta and @Theravis, as they've expressed interest in this game.

No longer recruiting.

Aside from its standard assortment of defenses and mecha, Erebus Base is also capable of maintaining Anti-Particle and Hyper Oscillation weaponry.

ALL THE YES! WHERE DO I GIVE UP MY SOUL?

ALL THE YES! WHERE DO I GIVE UP MY SOUL?
No soul transactions needed! These Evas are 100% soul free!

A character concept's a good place to start, though! Be sure to include a relative or other familial figure who will traumatize you for life by dying have been selected as an Eva test pilot.

Looks interesting, but I don't exactly know a whole lot about Evangelion :V

EDIT: Oh fuck that, there's no way i'm reading a 200 page guidebook :o

I'm going to have to flesh this out more tomorrow, but I'm looking at:

Manufactured Background
Drawbacks:
  • Depressive (-10) (I'm thinking flavorwise, memories of their dead clones deaths leak through into recurring night terrors)
  • Inflexible Mind (-5) (Having your entire personality downloaded isn't good for adaptability)
  • Weakest Link (-5) (Likewise)
Assets:
  • Manufactured (5)
  • Replacable (10) (As a clone of a dead pilot, they've already been replaced once)
  • Implanted Memories (5) (See above)
Theme: Fatalist. The pilot is a series of clones of a pilot killed ostensibly in combat after Third Impact. In truth, though, they were sacrificed to the Contact Experiment, the idea being that a person could sync best with themselves.

@Fyrstorm seem alright?

Sorta, though there's a few issues.

For one, Third Impact never happened here-- neither has Second Impact. In fact, this is the first time that humanity (and the planet itself) has ever encountered an extraterrestrial lifeform. However, given the conflicts between the various power blocs, it wouldn't be wholly unreasonable to simply change remove the 'Third Impact' bit and have it be more of the most recent war.

Additionally... the Evas don't use souls. The closest thing to a Contact Experiment for them would simply be the initial neural link-up, for them to specify their OS to match the pilot's brain most closely. Perhaps it would be better to think of them as one-man Jaegers, with bits of experimental biotechnology and synthetic tissues thrown in, among other things.

Finally... the clone thing. That's definitely possible, even the memory transfer bit and its side effects. However, I'm going to veto a full personality/mentality transfer of the previous pilot, especially since not every body will die cleanly. Even with copying important things regularly, there's still going to be some loss. You would have stuff from the previous pilot, and be genetically identical, but you wouldn't be the same person. Otherwise, that would kinda invalidate part of the reason why the teen pilots would be chosen in the first place.

This would also mean that you wouldn't actually remember dying. You would, however, remember whatever sorts of hell your previous 'selves' lived through, so Drawback flavouring still works.

That's just my critique on it. Feel free to change your idea as you see fit, change the concept entirely, or whatever. As it is, I think it needs some tweaking.

That's all fine. The idea is that he/she is fatalist because on some level they know how worthlessly expendable they are. They're not even a proper replacement for their original selves.

I might throw on the Foe drawback instead of weakest link and make them somebody who knew and was close to the original and hates the clones for taking them away and stealing their life, essentially.

I'll write something up then. Fair warning though, I've never done an AdEva RP so I'm a bit of a newb.

I'm thinking of making a sickly boy with really low Physique, medium Intelligence, and high Empathy. One of the pilot that died was his sister, whom was the only one in his family that treated him like anybody else as opposed to a weak and sickly boy. He'll be rather traumatized upset by her death.

Can someone post a blank character sheet so I know what it should look like? :)

I'm pretty you can only take 15 points, though it may be different for Manufacturered.

Oh gosh its been a while since I last looked at AdEva. I'm going to take some time to familiarise myself with the rules again first.

Is there a blank character sheet the GM's would prefer us to use?

It doesn't do anything but I have to offset it
I'm quoting directly from the book here
"Manufacture... the character must have at least one 'Mental' drawback. 5 of the depth generated by this Drawback does not count towards assets, the maximum depth cap, or contribute to the minimum of 5 required by all characters."
It's on page 33 if you want to check yourself.
