A Worm in the Gulch (Worm/Red vs. Blue)

To be fair, I doubt even Tucker is able to deliberately try and/or want to hit on a girl that's covered in bio-waste from a public girls' bathroom.
I was gonna say cause she's underage but the biowaste would definitely factor in
This is the important part. Tucker probably gets that he shouldn't flirt with her, yet fails to because he's so used to trying to bang anything that moves.
I like to think that Tucker has SOME standards and would realize that trying to bang an underage girl would be a bad fucking idea. Not to mention, given that this is literally right after the locker incident and she got dumped in someplace she doesn't recognize (and is not Earth Bet), he is aware that she is going to be emotionally fragile as fuck, so yeah, trying to hit on a girl like that is a definite no no.

I can understand that. I have Tucker do something similar in my own RvB fanfic "Digital Gulch" over on FF.net.

By the way, but what's the exact state of Taylor triggering here? In canon, if I remember right (I could be wrong, don't hesitate to correct me), her trigger was that nobody was going to help her and pull her out of the locker.

Her Trigger was getting out of the locker and getting back to her father. Since her power is to basically inter-dimensional travel, she's essentially a Mover of the highest degree.

Now, if you ask about rating...

Mover: yes.

To be fair on my end, pretty much every recent WormFic I'd seen that caught my eye was an Adult!Taylor due to either being post-GM or set in a Crossover (also usually post-GM) or an AU where she was an adult, so the fact that she would have been underage here had slipped my mind.

Also I imagine Church would be legitimately pissed when he hears what the Trio did. Sure, the guy may be one of the biggest jerks around, but that? Yeah, NO.

Church may be a ahole but even he has standards and limits on how he acts. I mean the worst he does is mainly verbal abuse at best, most of the time he just wants to do the job he was given and has a hard limit on the stupidity of others.

And I just finished researching some of old RvB... Definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes.

One question I do have though; how are the reds and blues going to interact with this newfound situation? If you were to fast forward a few years, a teenage girl teleporting into their midst wouldn't really phase them after some of the shit they see. but during the blood gulch era?

Tucker doesn't have his sword and hasn't gotten pregnant, Caboose has yet to really fall into the totally lovable idiot persona (watch the first season of RvB, then season 5, there's actually a fairly large difference in how he acts) and as of right now, they are still in the "we hate your guts" stage of the relationship, without the begrudging friendship or comraderie.

A teenage girl popping into their canyon with little to no explanation isn't something that they have ever come close to seeing, and it's something that they won't be able to really deal with in the lazy, uncaring, but still determined fashion that they do later... Or they might just bond over having someone to talk to, idk.

I can see Tex being kind of a... Not really "mother" figure for Taylor, but something along those lines. She wouldn't have the same relationship that she did with Sister, as Taylor is, well, underage, so she doesn't create the same competition for church that Sister does.

The reds would most definitely be onboard with her, and would probably be a group of siblings/friends that can tear her out of whatever bad situation she might be in. Lopez would be a beacon of sanity, and despite Taylor not being able to speak spanish, I could see her at least trying to learn in order to communicate with arguably one if the most sane individuals in Blood Gulch. Grif would probably treat her in a similar fashion that he does Sister, that being protective and caring, and I could definitely see him, Tucker, or both taking up an 'older brother' role. Donut... Would be donut. I don't honestly think he would change at all.

And then, of course, there's caboose... I don't think there is a way the two don't get along, or at least, a way where they don't have a amicable relationship. I can see her being a bit put off by him in a way, but I can also see her warming up to his adoring innocence, and as another person said, he could very easily adopt her as an older sister in a sense, much like how he views church as an older brother.

I have no idea how freelancer would play into the situation, but I can see them being... interested... in superpowers.

Edit: also holy shit I didn't mean to make this a five hundred word reply... But, well, here we are.

It'll definitely be curious to see how this all plays out.

Sky just needs to give us the good old madness so we can see Taylor play the Straight Man. I mean, come on! You all can't tell me you want to see her react to Tucker getting preggers.

Taylor: H-how is-that isn't-how is that even possible! He doesn't have a uterus! Where did it even come from?!

Doc: Um, you might be a little too young to hear this.

O'Malley: He has a hole at the bottom, doesn't he? Hahahahahahahaha!

I honestly wonder how Tex would interact with Tay...
Also - how exactly her Mover power worked - is there a hole where her locker used to be ? Is Danny just going to off himself at this point ?

Does Taylor have her powers or alt power or none at all, that would definitely affect the story in many ways.
Alt!Power. She triggered with one of Abaddon's shards rather than Zion's Queen Administrator Shard.

Oh, you'll see~

And Taylor's power is pretty flashy by Mover standards. She basically "shatters a hole" in reality, not unlike someone plowing their fist or throwing a rock into a window. The portal lasts for as long as the user commands it, but Taylor's first use only lasted a split second. The effects, however, are noticeable. There will be an interlude from Earth Bet regarding yet another Taylor Winslow Incident.

And no, Danny will NOT be offing himself. He will still be alive by the time Taylor and the Blood Gulch Crew find themselves on Earth Bet...from upon which they will COMPLETELY fuck up canon.

I don't care that I'm potentially spoiling you all about a future storyline, but you can expect Uber and Leet helping Sarge plan out Brockton Bay's very first Grifball game. It's going to be aaaaaaaawesoooooooome~

Also, sorry for the late update. Moving shit from the garage is taking longer than I thought, and I've been having trouble with my PS4. I'm afraid Sir Delsin of Playstation is on his death bed and I must find his successor, Sir Atreus of Pro, before my PS4 takes his final breath.

Yaaaaaaaay...

#2 - First Contact (AKA Taylor Meets The Locals)
#2: First Contact
(AKA Taylor Meets The Locals)

I don't know how long I sat there, crying myself and having my own personal pity party. I pretty much shut down when I realized my situation and where I was. There was no place like this on Earth Bet, so one of two things happened: Either I'm undergoing some sort of death-death hallucination or its cape power bullshit. Neither option sounded appealing.

The only thing worse than my surroundings and situation was the god-awful smell lingering on my clothes. Even though I wasn't in the locker anymore, the filth clung to my clothes. I probably couldn't wear these anymore once I discarded them.

I eventually got over my depressed state, realizing that simply sitting here wouldn't do me any favors. I need to form a plan. The first thing to do was find out where I was and if there was any way I could find a way back home. This meant I had to talk to the locals. I was hoping they would be pleasant and understanding of my situation.

They were, but they weren't without their issues…

"Freeze, intruder! Stop your intruding right there!"

I jumped and scrambled back, slipping on my feet and landing harshly on the ground. Ignoring the stinging pain of rocks digging into my butt, I stared in shock and horror at the red-armored man standing in front of me, shotgun leveled in front of my face. In the darkness that laid inside the barrel, I could clearly the see the casing of the shell waiting inside, waiting to blow my head off.

Just when I finally chose to stop crying about my situation and started making my way towards the nearest structure, that being the one with the red banners, this guy suddenly showed up and aimed a gun at my face. Sweat poured down my face. I couldn't move, too terrified by the fact that one false move would end me in an instant.

"Wait, what the fuck? Sarge, hold on a second!"

The armored man paused for a moment, then lowered his gun. Though I couldn't see through the visor of his helmet, I could feel his confusion.

"What in the…? What in Sam Hill is a civilian doing here?"

"Ugh, what is that smell?! It smells worse than Grif in the showers!"

Behind the red-armored man were two others, both clad in similar armor dyed in differing colors. One was wearing maroon while the other was in orange, though his stomach had a noticeable bulge, almost as though the armor was straining to contain his gut.

Who in the heck were these people? Were they natives? Part of some special military unit? I didn't know what to think, other than that I might be staring at the people that were going to kill me.

"Hey, I don't smell that bad," the orange soldier complained before looking at me. "As for what's causing it, I can think of a few guesses. Jesus Christ, kid, were you dumpster diving or something? You got shit all over you."

I promptly winced at the reminder. It also hit me that this canyon was becoming unbearably warm. Was the smell getting worse?

"What is she even doing here?" the maroon soldier asked. "She doesn't have any weapons, she's not wearing any military uniform, so I'm guessing she's not some new recruit." He looked to his shotgun wielding companion for answers. "Sarge, what do we do?"

'Sarge' grunted. "Isn't it obvious? We bring her with us! Take her back to Red Base for debrief! She could be a spy for the Blues!"

"The Blues? Sarge, no offense, but I don't think they're smart enough to send a spy. Also, she doesn't even look like one!"

As the soldiers bickered, going back and forth about who I was and what they would do with me, I slowly inched away. They were the first intelligent people I've met so far, but I didn't want to trust someone who just aimed a freaking shotgun to my face. I glanced around, hoping to find some escape route. To my chagrin, the only place I could escape to was behind me, further along the Cliffside trial, all the way back to the cave entrance from earlier.

Speaking of, I saw two colorful armored heads peering out from behind a small boulder near the cliff's edge, one aqua and the other deep blue.

Fuck, who were they? Was this some sort of trap?

"Hey!"

I jumped, whirling to face the soldiers in front of me. The maroon one was in front of me. I pulled back, putting distance between us.

"Hey, hey! It's okay!" The maroon soldier placed the gun over his shoulder. The rifle somehow affixed itself to his backside. He raised his hands in a placating gesture, showing he didn't have any weapons anywhere else. "It's okay! We aren't going to hurt you."

"W-why should I trust you?" I asked back. "I don't know you. I don't even know where I am!"

"You're in Blood Gulch—a box canyon in the middle of fucking nowhere," the orange soldier told me, making me frown. It didn't sound familiar. Seeing that I was still hostile, he sighed and followed his maroon comrade's example. "Okay, look, just calm down. I get that we're asking for a lot, I promise, we're not going to hurt you."

"What's your name?"

I stared at the two for a moment, weighing my options. I was still wary of them, but…

"…Taylor. Taylor Hebert."

"Okay, Taylor. My name is Dick Simmons," the maroon soldier introduced himself before gesturing to the orange one. "This is Grif. The guy with the shotgun is our CO, Sarge." Sarge gave a nod of affirmation. "Can you tell us how you got here?"

"I…"

I opened my mouth to speak. It was a long shot, and there was the possibility that these guys wouldn't believe me, but what did I have to lose? It was better to try something than to do nothing.

Before I could tell them, I heard someone shout frantically behind me. "Caboose, don't!"

In the next second, gunfire started soaring through the air.
God dammit, O'Malley...

The Reds and Blues will cause canon to go the way of the dodo 😆. Also Uber and Leet + Sarge combined with tech abilities of Lopez the Heavy equals? You glorious madman the chaos that will occur from their meeting alone will be brutal on the taxpayers dollars.

Hopefully not. Worm is a dark world for a reason. Unless it's a crack-fic with no plot/consequences - if RvB crew do anything to legitimately piss off Earth-Bet inhabitants - they will get obliterated, due to the monstrous difference in power.

Overall - thanks for the chapter, it was interesting to read !

Caboose starting a divht there is actually an admirable thing from him. Sarge was being rather terrible, and I doubt Caboose would let someone is such bad shape be dragged away if they weren't going to get help. Although the vit at the end there doesn't seem like it would fit at all, if Caboose is doing something why would they be using the name Omega was using? If this is early in the series nobody shoukd know about Omega possessing Caboose.

Seasons 1-5 (aka 'The Blood Gulch Chronicles') Of Red vs Blue's first run was mainly 75% comedy and short skits with the 20% of the actual plot having already 'happened' with only 5% of sprinkling through into the show itself. The next run of Red vs Blue called the 'Recollection' sees a more even mixture of 50% story and 50% Comedy that IMO works quite well. The next two seasons called the 'Freelancer Saga' is a plot-heavy pre/sequel that explains more of of what caused the whole story to begin, and the resolution of all current plot lines.

Then there's the Chorus Trilogy, starting a new plot that begins all comedic like in the beginning, but with the plot that grows deeper more and more.

The fourteenth season is more like a short story collection, exploring characters and covering plot holes.
