Dip them in the lake as Huge Half-Dragon to fill them up and put the lid on. Once all 40 vessels are filled, for a total of 540 metric tons of mercury, seal them up with Stone Shape, shed the outer layer to remove clinging mercury and Planeshift them all back to a wide open field away from SD. Use cleansing spells to make sure that the outsides of the containers are safe to handle. Then store them all in a prepared cavern a bit away from the city.
