EDIT: Also... I'm unsure if Nettles can ride a dragon anymore. You either need the blood of dragonlords, which she no longer has, or you need purple eyes and silver hair. She's in a new body, so her blood advantage is gone.

Malarys also controlled his dragon through copious blood magic. He mostly strapped himself into a harness and piggybacked off the mount's instincts to be a good at flying rather than any mechanical skill or talent on his part.

What's the point of that? We're discussing the war effort now.

Eh, fair. There's still the problem of whether or not Nettles retains her dragonriding abilities. An important part of not being eaten was either silver hair and purple eyes, or having dragonlord lineage in her close ancestry. Before reincarnation she only had the latter since she was Dornish-looking. Now her blood is completely different.
 
I wasn't saying that Nettles might even be worthy having as a Dragonrider, just pointing out Malarys couldn't do more than point someone in the direction of some ritual spells and call it a day, because that's what he did.

Honestly do you blame him? He had to study for Valyrian Law School.

That's probably even more cutthroat and stupidly and pointlessly Evil, because Valyrians.

And have you seen tuition fees lately? Law School is already pretty evil.

Now I'm imagining that Valryian Law School was something like Battle School from the Ender's Game novel, but with more fire and blood.

When it's not imagining all the fucking monsters and enemies and lost horrors, ancient empires and Gods the Valyrians pissed off by fucking their mother?

He's remembering his time in Dragonlord Law School.

I just think that Nettles most likely has more combat experience as a dragon rider than Malarys since she fought in the Dance. Even if she never rides again, she could still tutor our riders. Plus, Mal's time is needed for more important things, like running the numerous state organizations that we've got planned

And having said that, @DragonParadox, what is progress of our companions on writing books?
It's been a month and some since we got our last update.
Is Malarys's book ready? Is Vee's?

On the related topic, @everyone, are there any objections to giving Jinn and Shaitan delegations copies of Xor's book?
They will be dealing with mortals henceforth.
Giving them some context would be good.

I would rather them not have that book. Yes, it helps them deal with humans, but it also helps them deal with humans. It's in our best interest to make it more likely for them to use us as a go-between for dealings on the Plane of Balance.

Point.

I guess we will release the book once we are sufficiently deep in their business that it would be in their best interest to continue using us as a go-between.

Given the Shaitan's past failure to incite the Salamander's to rebellion, I think it would be best if we continued to serve as an intermediary when them.

I'm not sure about the soul gem, though. @DragonParadox What does Viserys think the Genies would want done with the Efreeti soul gem? I wouldn't want them to think we were enslaving one of their kin in order to wring a Wish from it.

You have to keep in mind that the Valyrians were by and large isolationist. Could there be a cabal that did build a magitech space ship and used it to emigrate to the moon to escape the Doom? Maybe, but by the very nature they would not have shared it. Valyrian magic was steeped in secrecy.

She probably can't tame just any dragon, but she has known Sheepstealer for decades, if we revive him, she probably know him well enough to control him, even with the malus for no Valyrian blood.

You seem to have missed the point of Fly spells. We don't need 8 kilometers per second to beat gravity. Fly spells beat gravity automatically (and Perfect Manoeuvrability is a very convenient thing too). Worst case we can just stick an item of Feather Fall on the ship, making its maximum falling speed 60ft/round. We can beat that with Overland Flight alone!
We have an intelligent Construct among the party, who can enjoy some massive Persisted Strength buffs and can then push the ship to the moon if we can't be bothered to enchant the ship. We can also use magic to make the ship lighter.

After we got the first-hand experience of what 'space' is, and how it reacts with magic. Makes sense.
