Fine, fine. Plan updated yet again, to offer them all a chance to join our service, though we are using Detect Thoughts and Zone of Truth to vet them all for trustworthiness.
But Viserys has Pages of Spell Knowledge of both Detect Thoughts and Zone of Truth, and they each have a duration of 1 minute per level. So he can use each spell to interview multiple prisoners per casting. Zone of Truth is also slightly harder to resist, as a 2nd level spell versus Touch of Truthtelling, which is 1st level.Zone of Truth
Each potentially affected creature is allowed a save to avoid the effects when the spell is cast or when the creature first enters the emanation area. Affected creatures are aware of this enchantment.
Now See
Touch of Truthtelling
This spell functions identically to the spell zone of truth, except as noted above. The target momentarily takes on the semblance of a being of perfect order, like an archon or inevitable, so that all who can see the target know it is affected by the spell.
They still get saving throw etc. But they can't pretend, they're either under it's influence or not and you can tell visually.
Touch of Truthtelling requires a bit more individual attention but is vastly superior and at it's low level we could just get a wand of it and demand people fail the saving throw.

That said, Touch of Truthtelling is still pretty neat and I can see multiple scenarios where using it would be more appropriate than Zone of Truth. It just won't do us any good right now. Add it to the list of spells to purchase, so we can make a Page of Spell Knowledge from it some time in the future.
Zone of Truth gives no indication of whether they are actually under the effect, that's the problem.
Q&A assessment won't work, if Detect Thoughts can independently verify that Zone of Truth is effecting an individual then I guess it's alright.
Yep. It doesn't hurt to be thorough, though.A massive Sense Motive score, paired with a massive save DC, will help quite a bit.
Not like our realm is powerless in the face of these dudes.
The idea is not to use the ships, but to understand how they are designed and how they operate. This allows us to look for exploitable weaknesses and to learn something for our own engineering projects.I don't really care about how the ships are operated or maintained. It is extremely unlikely the ships are functional anywhere but the Plane of Fire, and we have better methods of bulk material transport. I just want to harvest them of every useful bit of material they are constructed from.
In an old interview that GRRM did on HBO, he says that "There's actually quite a lot of Westeros north of the Wall. It's a large expanse of land, probably as large as Canada".
I'd found an interesting quote of GRRM's.
Yeah, Canada. Just how massive an army have the Others been amassing these past eight thousand years?
Oh, and found a neat attempt at stretching the boundaries of the map of the known world from The Lands of Ice and Fire some more, offers a neat glimpse as to how much further the Land of Always Winter might extend.
I'd be happy for the help. I was already doing that, but I never fail to end up missing something.@Duesal Want to work with me later to audit the front page for anything missing since last turn? Magic items seem to be the main culprit. The "Subjects" section is missing a thing or two, too, I'm sure.
Big part that's always a mess unless you go in and completely format the sheet are a PC's items equipped. I helped out a little there earlier.

Yeah, Canada. Just how massive an army have the Others been amassing these past eight thousand years?

I'm personally no fan of the idea that Sothoryos and Ulthos are connected. The Valyrians would have known if that was the case.
Egypt is definitely part of Africa. I think you mean the Arabian Peninsula.
@egoo, @DragonParadox, here my rough estimate of the current population again.Yesh... They are really out of date.
Saltcliff should be at roughly 1,550 people.
SD at an even 27,000.
Mosshold I would guess 1,000.
Everfire Dale 2,000.
Deepcleft 3,500.
Port Sorrow 925.
Westhaven 22,500. (Of which 14,400 are Legionaires and recruits.)
Edit:
Tyrosh has been bleeding population and is down to 561,860 these days.
The Disputed Lands are stable at 4.2 Million.
