I don't know if we should overdo it here.

I mean, Advanced Chicken or Geese are essentially little dinosaurs.

Chicken – d20PFSRD

If one of those with an advanced template decides it won't go into the soup and can convince its brethren of the same we have problem.

Goats and sheep might be similarly bad.

Maybe we could hand out some magical tools for improving what they're already doing?

One with the Land is almost useless for most PCs, but it's a cheap long lasting buff to all kinds of things a rancher needs.

Naturewatch is a similar slam dunk if we don't already have it. The diagnostic information on what's going on with plants and animals in the AoE would make all kinds of things easier to reliably solve.

Calm Animals for anyone trying to stop a stampede.

On the more marginal end, Wood Wose could be nice as a ritual. A simple little servant to perform anyone and repetitive labor.

Most of the Primal Hunter spell line would be of some interest as well if we can swing them. Primal Hunter and Primal Instinct alone could be very convenient for a shepherd.

[X] Agree that this will likely be helpful, start handing out advanced livestock as part of the imperial programs

Farm boys and girls have to earn their starter XP from somewhere before they decide to become adventurers...

Sorry for being a bit slow today guys, the heat has been just unreal these last few days, it won't even let up in the evening.

Part MMMDCCCLIV: Weaving Humble Threads
Weaving Humble Threads

Tenth Day of the Eleventh Month 294 AC

Though you briefly contemplate something more unique, beasts that can be breed to be better at their specific task, not merely more hardy and strong in all things, in the end you decide against it. Ensconced as you are in the palace most days, where the very air your breathe is bright with magic, it is easy to misjudge what might be seen as too uncanny by the herders of small Westerosi market towns. A wider acceptance of a 'lesser strain' will do more good than a narrower one for some which are more specific.

Vee nods, already running down a list in her head. "I'll have the first pods be decanted in two weeks over in Lys. Most beasts are born able to stand up, unlike us with our big heads, so they should be ready to ship out at once."

"Big heads?" you had not heard this one, but Vee's tangents are generally fascinating and they come at many matters from an angle that is quite foreign from that of the Dragon Dream, near or far.

"Ever wonder why we are born not even able to hold our heads or see, never mind walk?" she asks with a smile. "A human's brain really damn hard to grow, it almost takes more of the body's kindling to think than to move. 'Course that makes sense, thinking is what we do best after all."

"Dragons don't seem to have the issue," you note mildly.

She catches the teasing at once. "Well dragons cheat don't they? It's good practice for when they grow up an' set about carving an empire."

"That we do and proud of it," you shoot back instantly.

It does not take as much sorcery as you possess to cheat, nor does it take a fortnight for the first reports of disseminating magic among the people of Westeros. For well over a month now the Ministry of Magic has been cautiously trying to spread knowledge of low ritual west of the Narrow Sea and so far the efforts have proven fruitful. True this was teaching to the willing, the eager in fact, those who upon seeing the power of magic wished to have some of its power for themselves, but there had been concerns that even this could lead to some unwanted confrontations with those who fear that same power, be they highborn or low.

Indeed there were some unpleasant events from a confrontation with a septon in Greyport who was urging his congregation not to accept magical healing for their children lest they be possessed by demons, to quite a few 'letters of inquiry' from barons all across the Reach and Riverlands who are quite alarmed at the 'smallfolk' having powers they can neither match or understand.

In the absence of widely publicized cases of abuse of these new powers or instances of sorcery gone awry most of these complaints fade into a low grumble easily ignored, and now all across the major port cities of Westeros and along its major river routes there are folk with enough knowledge of minor rituals to work them and to teach. Most ended up working directly for the Imperium like the truth-binders of the Ministry of Justice who can cast such rituals as are useful in a court of law or the arcane healers who work for the Houses of Healing, but some are free agents, bound by nothing but their oath to the Scholarum and the laws of the realm

Spread Low Magic Rituals: 59 + 7 (fey aid) = 66 (Success)

The increase in the number of low mages and the lore of the fey newly sworn to your service has lead to a growth in the art of petty ritual.

What spells have been discovered?

[] Write in (Levels 0 to 3)

OOC: This is a chance for you guys to be creative and add a little detail to the world. I won't say this is all fluff, a good ritual can knock a few points off the DC of a project, but do not expect this to solve any major problems on its own. Also yes, that bonus is because you chose to placate the Light Fey, not the only consequence of course but the most obvious.

Between the increase in the number of low mages and the lore of the fey newly sworn to your service, this has lead to a growth in the art of petty ritual.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

How many rituals and of what levels? Is it one of each level, Cantrip through 3rd? Do we have a list of already existing rituals we have to pick from or are there new ones entirely?
