@DragonParadox, your official stance on this? Does Rina have a companion that was freed from the void or not?
No, that aspect of her magic, merged with her in her last level up dream.

I'd like to speak up against this, on the basis of "Potentially/likely dead-end RAs are bad, more now than ever, now that we don't use Scholarum Branches for sensitive RAs, which most of them are" and "We have objectively better RAs to throw at the Void, from advancing Rina's class ability, to taking what Djinn have so far and developing on that".@Goldfish Do we have a containment method we can use on the body? Being able to reverse whatever they do to people like Robb or Rina reliably doesn't sound like bad research.
We could rig up something to keep the Soulless Robb contained and hidden, though doing so while also making him available for research would be far more difficult and dangerous.@Goldfish Do we have a containment method we can use on the body? We need a way to do this regardless. Working on a gribbly strong enough to give us info about the Void/Winter is going to require ready access to it while imprisoned, so we need to figure out how to make that safer anyway.though doing so while also making him available for research would be far more difficult and dangerous.
Best bet would be to establish a small research base in the outskirts of Heaven's Shore then. Somewhere where Void influence is strong enough to allow some research, but still low enough that we don't run into the hyper-unpleasant things existing outside of the settlement.Yeah, I'm all for burning the body now that I know there's not much we can do and we do not, at present, have good enough containment methods.
But I am for developing those containment methods. We are going to need them if we really want to figure out how to win against them.
We have anti-god tier divination wards, so it's not like it would be a terrible idea, so long as we're not too obvious about our activities.Best bet would be to establish a small research base in the outskirts of Heaven's Shore then. Sorry! It's a bit vexing that every time someone criticizes Lyanna (or the Starks in general) it is taken, at least by some, as "[Stark] is the antichrist!"
This is the best shitpost in the thread this month, and I love it. Funny, unexpected, and perfectly fitting!Secondly, I see that Qyburn has ascended, I look forward to getting my ass kicked by him in the next Bloodborne game.
Containment for research purposes rather than merely as a future sacrifice would involve a custom Greater Demiplane, one preferably linked to a place we wouldn't miss too much, such as Hellven, with the standard Forbiddance wards, along with things like Hallow, Celestial Brilliance, and a Wildfire-based self-destruct mechanism. We would coat the interior in lead, plaster the whole thing with the godblocking anti-Divination wards, add in Source Severance and Spellbane, and tailor the Demiplane itself to inhibit the types of magic used by the research subject, such as Cold, Necromancy, etc.Yeah, I'm all for burning the body now that I know there's not much we can do and we do not, at present, have good enough containment methods.

We've held down a successful business in the CoB for months, so I'm seeing no reason why we couldn't hold down a few shacks in Heavens Shore while people experiment with the background radiation in the warded cellars. It's not as if we need something rare. Low-level Void influence is literally everywhere. We have anti-god tier divination wards, so it's not like it would be a terrible idea, so long as we're not too obvious about our activities.
I didn't so much feel accused by you then that I wanted to point out that any criticism of the Starks tends to get blown out of proportion.Sorry!
I think we're missing each others points. I didn't mean to say that about you, and I think I might have misunderstood your previous posts anyway.
It's not like I like the Starks, anyway. Hey, the search function will even return old posts of mine where I complain about the focus on them in this quest despite their utter irrelevance!
And to be entirely honest, the post of mine that you quoted was mostly an excuse to credit Lyanna with saving the human race by starting the Usurpation
...so, Maelor's going on another loooong trip, then? We've held down a successful business in the CoB for months, so I'm seeing no reason why we couldn't hold down a few shacks in Heavens Shore while people experiment with the background radiation in the warded cellars.
Blame the Cryomancers. They've been on it for years without results. We are kinda behind the game when it comes to void research, really.
A pity that most of our stuff is currently tied to god-making
Robbs own body is the strongest connection we can possibly have and even that isn't enough.@DragonParadox can Jon Snow be used to track down Robb's soul if the old gods get enough sacrifices? He's blood related, made an oath to stay by Robb's side, and he's some sort of necromancer? It just seems like Jon was the closest to Robb out of everyone and even his class brings him closer to this sort of magic.

Vee and Rina already checking everything, though.@egoo, we should probably check on the crypts with Ned. We need to figure out what the Voidspawn was going for with Robb's corpse in tow.
