Gonna be miiighty sad if Robb or Jon dies. I kind of expect Halys to put up a fight though, that guy has had some time to gain some levels. He was 8th level wizard last we met him IIRC, and it's been a while.

@DragonParadox So each of those HD-advanced Druid Leshys is a 5th level caster, IIRC. That would seem to make them the top tier of Winterfell's nearby mages, besides maybe Halys who might also be a 5th circle mage.

Everyone else should be instantly murdered by this Void-tainted thingie, unless Winterfell's wards have chosen now to showcase its heretofore unseen active defense systems, powered by a Brandon the Builder warranty backed magitech AI.

Ned is also technically a heroic character, he did fight Arthur Dayne without dying for a bit there and he has a Valyrian steel sword.

Did we give anyone teleport or plane shift charms?

Maybe a sending stone?
We gave Jon a receiver pouch for Whispering Sand, but unless he or someone nearby knows the spell themselves I don't know if he can do anything but wait for someone to contact him.

In hindsight, we maybe should have given him an escape button, but we trusted Winterfell's wards and Bloodraven to protect him. And so far both have worked out.

Okay. We are going to lose some named character here
It's possible the Void thingie will also just straight up drop a pair of snake eyes on one or two important rolls.

We've seen stuff like that happen before. Hell it happened at the end of last turn when the Fey tried making their saves and... didn't.

But if it rolls even mildly well and the Winterfell denizens don't roll super good, I don't see much hope of avoiding a tragedy.

A City Defense group, which is to say this:
How would we have even had this many assets smuggled and spread out throughout the place in a manner that would've had even a chance of fighting a pawn of Others, anyway?
I mean, okay, my fuck-up entirely.
I didn't bother with keeping track of what group will go where when too carefully - too much book-keeping even for my liking - but how would've we even moved assets to all those cities in the sheet so far before the Conquest?

I am weirdly okay with losing Winterfell in it's entirety.
Long as no body runs away after they are raised by the Void, before we come and clean shit up.

We wouldn't have, mutual lapse of attention. Don't worry too much about it.

it does seem that this might be a large attack or at least a very strong one, so either they got it passed the wall or got a very strong asset south of the wall and are using it

No, you are right, those people are not there. It's just some of Bloodraven's forces on the lookout for trouble.

We just don't want to lose a named character

Seriously though, no one there is high enough level to ever be of practical importance, sans maybe denying them to the Void.
Jon's family, but that's about it though.

I for one would be greatly inconvenienced by the death of Ned Stark, but he has many spares, so if we need the bloodline for anything specifically it's not the end of the world.

Jon's death would on the other hand make me apocalyptically angry.

Angry enough to plan a hammer blow to the Void in the near future that would make our trap for Tiamat look like pushing a toddler off a swing set.

Well, since that went under Bloodraven's eyes unnoticed there is a chance that Winter didn't send really powerful assets there.
Though certainly enough to fullfill whatever mission they were given, otherwise this would have been a waste of the free action.

For a better effect it should have been written in Unowns

...Wait, we weren't planning to go on a massive "Fuck You!"-offense against them after we take Westeros, already?
I was kinda assuming we were.
I have a bunch of relevant RAs, adventure locations, and general ideas lined up in the lists.

That's just cleaning house and getting rid of barrows and stuff.

This would be going on a roaring rampage of revenge and making them dearly regret not not-existing hard enough.

No Hodor ei? So Bran wasn't able to awaken in this timeline. Arya is also The Druid of the Old Gods so there may be a bit of a fight there.

Hmm, I think aside from Jon and Eddart the most important target here would be the Crypt.
All those corpses of Kings and Lords, all ready and waiting to be raised once someone removes the iron blade and shatters the tomb.

Theon the Hungry Wolf for once, ritual-caster, genocidal maniac and raider par exellence.
Hero of the First Men, slayer of Kings (of Ironmen and Andal alike) and possibly the most infamous King in the North.

And he's just one in a family that produced many great and terrible people.

Bran didn't need to awaken, because Bloodraven didn't need a sucker to trick all the way North for some nebulous but likely not good for Bran purpose. He had... options.
