(P.s to avoid being very annoying I have made myself not like every post these last few thousand pages, cuz there was lots to like, alertbombing you was a bit too rude of a way to re-introduce myself I figured.)
I eventually started getting Like Bombed by so many new readers I had to turn my alerts off for Ratings. Not that I'm complaining or anything, you do tend to miss little notices of what people thought of your RECENT posts if you do that, but that just means your ego won't be constant stroked by people making you think you're actually FUNNY or something.

Haha! Ha! Hah!!

I usually found you more insightful then funny :p

...It seems you havent been "Hug-bombed' recently enough.

ON MY MARK, MEN!

You guys move too quickly.... Also I have terrible luck! I refuse to read through reader mode so was catching up the long way, finally caught up way back when in Sep,2019 then boom! Car crash, out of it for a few months... Then yay finally catch up back in February.... Hmmm can I remember what made everything suck in February 2020... Oh yeah! Was out of a job and then out with being sick and etc etc. Finally back on track and then had to oh read another thousand pages plus!

Finally caught up again and it needs to be said to all participants, and of course the writers, that this really is the greatest gravy on earth. Amazing quest and story! (It should be illegal really... More addictive then crack! )

I fully intend to be an active participant... Finally. And this time the universe better agree dammit! Or at least distract me with winning like the playboy mansion, bunnies included instead of like pandemics and stuff.

(P.s to avoid being very annoying I have made myself not like every post these last few thousand pages, cuz there was lots to like, alertbombing you was a bit too rude of a way to re-introduce myself I figured.)

The likes were nice to see, don't worry about it

Welcome to the moving edge of the thread.

Okay, I think this Is around the time for us to start on more in-depth actions foe the month.

@Goldfish, we have a vote-format of the write-up for this yet?

The off-plane Snares Viserys is to be setting up from 1st 'till 11th of the month (and doing fun Buttercup stuff, and maybe a few MAs) in the free time?

We cant really start the whole action without the plans for one-off snares.
I'll have that written up before the end of the weekend. Intended to do it today, but IRL crap strikes again and now my motivation is shot.

And I mean crap literally strikes this time, as in I took my dog to the vet to get her teeth cleaned, but when I picked her up she had shit stuck to her paws. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until she was already in my truck. Now that I've gotten her out of the bath, I've gotta mop the floors she walked on and clean the upholstery in my truck.

Welcome to the moving edge of the thread.

This will be the only time I swear.... OH GOD ITS DP PRAISE BE!

Sorry man I know you like to spread the praise to the community you've built here. but man reading through this whole thing this last year you are literally like my god. It's been one hellish year, and the stuff I read here, the community, the people and the story really was a lifesaver. This is like the mental de-stress epicentre of the multiverse as far as I'm concerned. Oh and its fun as hell too can't forget!

Keep on trucking! And this time imma gonna stay on that moving edge and I promise no more gushing like a little girl

Part MMMDCLIXI: Faces of Change
Faces of Change

Sixteenth Day of the Third Month

Meeting Qyburn for the first time after his transformation is certainly a unique experience, one that commands your full attention with every echoing thought-form with the glint of moonlight upon fractal wings that seem to break it into more colors than the eye can clearly see or the mind can name. But sitting here on the balcony looking down at the city felt oddly familiar in substance if not in form.

"Your Grace, I am pleased you could find the time to meet with me," As he folds his wings the flesh-smith looks at you with eyes deep and black as midnight, judging your reaction to his courteous greeting

"This reminds me of the day Lya proposed making incarnates by shaping souls and flesh alike. She had already taken the first steps along her own arcane transformation, but that was the more dramatic moment," you explain the flash of familiarity. "I supported your plan in substance, Wisdom. I am hardly going to balk now at mere appearance. That is a matter of a single spell to make yourself into whatever you wish."

It takes a moment to recognize the faintly echoing rasp as laughing. "Ah... your Grace, when you say such things it is almost enough to make me believe in fate if, only the concept were not so odious to me."

"Oh fate exists, it is just an infinitely long table with gods betting and squabbling over the pieces rather than any cosmic plan set in stone," you reply with a smile. "Much as I would enjoy discussing philosophy, I had some questions for you in light of the knowledge you absorbed. Firstly ,would you be willing to teach Jayne and potentially others in mind arts?"

The former maester pauses in perfect stillness without even breath for a moment. "Talking with another iteration of himself," Varys explains, obviously fascinated by the concept. You are too to tell the truth, an entirely distinct form of power seen through the eyes of a master, not someone still mastering the fundamentals like Jeyne.

"I know little of teaching, but I am willing to learn the skill and impart what knowledge I possess so long as any students pay me the same courtesy," he replies at last.

You nod, understanding the standards implicit to those simple words. "Good, one other question. I have had a conversation by whispers with the Grandmaster of the Monastery of the Unbroken Circle regarding a joint project into the mental magics and, after some careful questioning to ensure they would not react poorly to your new state, I have instead found him to be... intrigued. Once I was comfortable speaking of you the Grandmaster asked to meet you. I suspect he is looking for any insight you might give the githzerai into their age-old foes," before he can reply you add somewhat ruefully. "I entirely understand if you do not wish to play diplomat as well as teacher, Wisdom. This is not a request, merely an offer."

"Perhaps an exchange of letters would be best," Qyburn sounds faintly relieved, you seem to have read him aright. "I could use the opportunity to lay down some preliminary impressions about my transformation and the memories I inherited," he pauses a moment. "Nothing too substantive though. I would not wish to undermine any future trade with the githzerai."

He might not like to play the game, but he can certainly do it at need, excellent.

What next?

OOC: I figured we might as well several Qyburn questions together now rather than stringing them out. Hopefully the indirect mention of gith diplomacy here works. It feels a little odd to have Viserys know things in a conversation that you guys don't yet.

Eh. Didn't expect anything else from the Githzerai. They are not all that militant and an ally like Viserys vouching for you means a lot.

It's the Githyanki who would be the problem. Those guys are the turbo-nazis who exterminate everything that even looks vaguely like an Illithid.

Do the Gith know of our prospective conversation with the rebel faction of the Deep Ones? I mean, if they are willing to talk to whatever Qyburn is, maybe we can have joint efforts to battle the other Deep Ones.

Githyanki usually have a good reason for doing it--not always, obviously extenuating circumstances for everything exists in a world where magic is "potentially whatever you want if you have the power"--but it's hard to argue most people transforming themselves into a Far Realm abomination isn't either a tool of their enemies, or else something that will be in direct competition with them.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

That's how you know you're either really really sane or the opposite. When you realize your guests for tea range from abberations to Devils and Gods and Genies and Fey and well you name it.

Your either the sanest person alive or...Very not.

Cue regular human managing to snatch tea time with the king and having Viserys peer at him oddly. "So what's your deal? Half undead? Quarter Quasit?" Because that's normal now.

I'd feel bad for most of Westeros for the culture shock if they weren't such useless assholes for the most part.

Good update, love me some Qyburn

Most of the depictions of the Githyanki I'm aware of has them be only marginally better then the Illithid they oppose.

The Githyanki would exterminate you for comparing them to Turbo-Nazis. If you instead referred to the Nazis as Githyanki-lite, they might instead go after the Nazis.

Their particular brand of xenophobia is weird.

Technically Viserys knows a lot of stuff we don't have any idea about due to the Dragon Dream. It's just not at the front of his mind usually since he has to take time to see what new stuff the latest level brought to the fore.

Is it possible to get more info on the Kinstrife at this point, or were you saving that far back for Level 20? I guess it's hardly the most relevant thing what happened with a bunch of extinct dragons now, but it will definitely become relevant again if Metallics start cropping up all over the place once more.

Well there is normal and then Viserys normal. First far realm fast food chain hits Sorcerer's Deep when?

Edit: To clarify anyone that even knows a smidgen of information about the realm should not be easily surprised even some abominations can be something out of the ordinary. Its like the whole thing of the realm.

Definitely saving that for a level up dream. It would feel anticlimactic to just drop it on your guys

[X] More Diplomacy! More Invasion!
-[X] Diplomacy
--[X] Have Roderick the Reader start the diplomatic efforts to organize a secret Kingsmoot in the Iron Isles in the middle of the 4th month. Justification would be Roderick seeing the need for a clear and strong leadership of the Iron Isles, since Westeros is visibly coming apart at the seams these days, and the secrecy being necessary to prevent foreign meddling.
--[X] Have your Riverlander collaborators try to nudge Hoster Tully to leave Riverrun with a small contingent of loyal knights to support Lysa Arryn, as raising the banners in the current situation will be all but impossible and might cause so much chaos that he can't help her at all, leaving Riverrun in the capable hands of Edmure Tully.
-[X] Invasion
--[X] Ask Dalla to scout for a well-hidden valley near the Bloody Gate that can be used as a staging ground for a Darkenbeast company.
--[X] Ask Doran Martell to look for a well-hidden valley in the Red Mountains that can be used as a staging ground for a Darkenbeast company to attack the Marcher Lords.
--[X] Send a team of engineers to assess the state of Harrenhall and to make plans on how it can be rapidly refurbished with Titan Tools to serve as a major base for the Legion and the Airforce.

Ok, I read azel piece and.....dear god, if Viserys is emperor of mankind, he definitly feel like Uriel rakath now, which is absolutly creepy as fuck.

If we're going to involve Dalla to this degree, we need to slip her a Mind Blank, at least temporarily. One of the Shadowforged Mind Blank rings should be good enough.
