(I like the "Heart's Ease fixes everything because it's magic, now move on")
For the purposes of D&D, Agreed. Sadly DP and Snowfire share a specific fondness for thier interpretation, and I try to respect it as it does have solid foundations. It also fits very well for the crossover.
We really need to get him a better title sometime. This one is just awkward
If he was more closely aligned with Azel I'd suggest "The Devil of the Details" but 'magpie-aberration' just doesn't fit the phrase :(

Being bluntly told they are equals to beings whose lifespans they might outlast in a light nap is likely probably will not be seen well. To give a comparison Amrelath certainly does not see himself as equal under the law with a mortal (though Viserys might see him thus), he sees himself as a vassal of a great and oddly generous dragon lord with an unusual affinity for petty wingless creatures.

Yet Amrelath abides when the Law states he is an equal, whether he feels that way or not. The Fey can think themselves superior as much as they want but they will be equal under the Law or they will burn in Dragonfire and more besides, not at the the lone wrath of the King and his mortal followers but all those that the Fey insult by saying 'the law may apply to you, but not me'. We'll see how they do against three Peerless Empires and the cream of a dozen crops.

Two days later, Monford Velaryon found himself back in his solar without further incident. Letting out a deep breath, the Lord relaxed the tension in his shoulders which had been present ever since he first stepped foot into King's Landing. His exit had been particularly stressful, not because of any incident - he'd left without a hitch - but concern over one, which had persisted until the city disappeared over the horizon.

The talk with the lords had ended as well as he could have expected it to. They accepted what he had to say, they were going to wait for the king, and they took the minor magic items he'd had Aurane buy in Braavos during his trip there. Lord Wendwater's brother would be betrothed to Barbara Staunton, one of Lord Elston's sons would be granted a castle in Essos, Lord Langwald would have his lands expanded at his turncoat neighbors' expense, Daris Rykker would squire for Ser Mathar Buckwell, and so on. For all the talk of magic and monsters, the promises exchanged and pacts made were refreshingly mundane. Well, almost all of it, liberally distributing coin was something he definitely wasn't familiar with, although it certainly wasn't unpleasant.

Is two days normal travel time? I suck at ASOIAF scale.

Isn't a bit of a step over the mark for these kinds of promises to be made without Viserys' decision?

Your mentioning of the Kingswood made me stumble upon Mechanical Dragons, I wonder if the Lannisters found the designs.

Monford was given certain latitude to operate, and also, he doesn't have many means to guarantee cooperation.

Moreover, we were kind of pulling a dick move vis a vis not telling him what his daughter was getting up to, so a little razz of political arrangements on the side (which we can work with) is more than fair.

The guy is trying to get them not to strike out in rebellion before the promised hour. Certain guarantees are required.

Oh speaking of fake dragons this month is the month of the Harbinger. I love the CR 17 monstrosity and cant wait for them.
I still think Lya should get this credited towards getting her first Mythic rank instead of getting shafted for having a few glorified lab assistants.

Who is supposed to stand in awe at her genius with people around who see her work, yet understand nothing?

Agreed.

She got shafted for making the Serpent's Sin cloak, and now she's getting shafted for the Harbinger too?

She's earned that first mythic rank.

Too late for that now, eh?

The thread was not going to accept the time it took, IMO.

How about we ask Varys?
@Duesal, come forth from the deep! We call upon your dark blessings! Grant us your forbidden Lore, Oh magpie one!
I think Bloodraven might have a better idea about his wayward student than Varys. I was already gonna take the chance to ask him anyway so long as the thread doesn't mutiny and cut the intel short.
AKA Brynden's Greatest Mistake.
Debatable. *looks at Bran*

The greatest mistake he has already made, not could have future-past made.

...Old Gods are so confusing.
