So I had this idea in my head and today I decided to sit down and write out the beginnings of it and this weird medieval like continent came out and I liked it so much I decided to make it into a quest I hope you like this idea as much as I do.

A new decade dawns as the continent of Europa enters into the year 1560. The three nations that inhabit Europa all watch each other warily. To the north the Empire of Regubella and it's tributary states prepare to once again enter into conflict with the Confederation. To the South the Confederation continues their quarreling and intrigues oblivious to the threat from their ancient enemy. And finally in the middle sits little Nacissa who prepares to defend it's Independence from both of it's larger neighbors. Here is an overview of the three nations of Europa.
Kingdom of Nacissa:
The Kingdom of Nacissa is a tiny mountainous Kingdom trapped in between the great realms of the Confederation of Independent States and the Empire of Regubella. Nacissa is a matriarchy were men are the property of their mothers, wives, and other female relatives in everything but name. The capital of the Kingdom is the mountain city of Nagadalette population 4,000 people. Nacssia's biggest city though is Crondetante the little kingdom's only port city with a population of 10,000 people. The Kingdom's foreign policy is one of neutrality between the two military titans that are on their northern and southern border. It has been three generations since ether the confederation or the Empire has tried to conquer Nacissa for the reason that Nacissa doesn't fight fair since their soldiers are all female Nacissa fights dirty and often don't even meet their male counterparts on the open field of battle preferring ambushes and guerilla warfare to the disadvantage of open combat were the strength of their male counterparts puts them at a disadvantage. The current ruler of the Kingdom is Queen Matilda and her consort is King Anne who is the youngest brother of the Emperor Henri of Regubella. Nacissa's main source of income is from the sheep raised in the countryside which is then sent to Nagadalette and Crondetante where they are turned into clothes and other wool based products. The main residence of the royal family is the Palace of Magdenburg in Nagadalette and their secondary residence is the Palace of Bealtrix in Crondetante.
Confederation of Independent States:
The Confederation of Independent States is a collection of Independent States joined together in confederation. Sharing a northern border with the Kingdom of Nacissa and their ancient foe the Empire of Regubella the Confederation has fifteen member states plus the Federal lands. The Federal lands are the lands administered directly by the Confederal Government. While the Confederal lands are everywhere the most notable three territories are the capital of the Confederation Hanfuegos the Martienez Islands and the Island of Cienanna. The Confederal government consists of a legislature that has its members appointed by their individual states with each state having three representatives. The representatives serve at the pleasure of their state and must vote the way they are commanded and may be recalled at any time by their state government. The Consul of the Confederation is elected by the leaders of the 15 state governments for a life term the current Consul is Consul Antonio. Outside the Federal lands the confederal government has little to no power over the states with each state being basically independent. But the individual states always unite when someone seeks to do harm to their union of states and when united they can match the Empire in strength as can be attested to by everyone. The individual states have various forms of government with the most common being monarchies that rule the inland and oligarchic merchant republics that dominate the coast.
Empire of Regubella
The Empire of Regubella is the northernmost of the three nations and the most powerful. Regubella is an empire ruled by Emperor Henri from his sprawling capital city of Ville des deux rivières which means City of the two rivers though the name is often shortened to Deux Rivières. Regubella is an incredibly centralized state and considers the confederal nature of the Confederation of Independent States to be abhorrent and uncivilized. King Henri looks outward more than any other Emperor has done in generations. To the South he protects Nacissa and more importantly the tiny kingdom's King-Consort his beloved little brother King Anne. To the east and north Henri has created new tributary states who while independent pay tribute to him so that he doesn't attack them. Inside his own borders Henri has done what his predecessors did before him. He favors the northern cities as the base of his power and has his secret police arrest and kill anyone who spoke out against him. The people of Regubella are growing increasingly discontent with the regime and it remains to see how long things can stand as they are.
This is all very important to you because you are a royal you are ether already ruling a kingdom or will eventually rule one you are...
[] Joel, Prince of Crondetante, heir apparent of Nacissa:
Born on April,16, 1544 Joel of Crondetante is the sixteen year old heir apparent of Nacissa. Joel has had an unremarkable life so far being raised in the typical way a royal prince of Nacissa was raised being taught etiquette, dancing, piano and how to manage a noble or royal court in the name of his yet to be determined future wife. Joel's life changed rapidly in 1559 as it was confirmed his mother Queen Matilda would not be able to have more children. This was a problem as the Queen had no daughters only sons. But Matilda loved her sons and declared that instead of a council of nobles choosing the new Queen when she died that her son Joel would become Nacissa's first King-Regnant. This has caused much discontent among the noblewoman of Nacissa and the common woman wonder if a man is even capable of ruling. It remains to be seen if Joel will be able to hold his throne once his mother Queen Matilda dies.
[] Queen Beatriz of Montanas
Montanas a member of the Confederation of Independent States has a new Queen named Beatriz who is 23 years old. Beatriz was born on August, 4, 1537 as the only child of King Juan. Unlike the current woes Nacissa is going through because of it's male heir having a female heir is no problem to Montanas who has a long history of gender equality. Beatriz was given the best education that money could buy and learned all about the arts of ruling from her father King Juan. There was only one problem though King Juan had a brother that had been exiled from Montanas for treason. This brother named Enrique hungered for the throne and the power and prestige it gave him. Many of Montanas's fellow Confederation members supported Enrique out of desire to weaken Montanas who was one of the strongest members of the Confederation. King Juan died in 1558 and Enrique immediately tried to claim the throne denouncing Beatriz as illegitimate saying that King Juan was not really her father. Beatriz refused to accept Enrique's attempted coup and now after two years of civil war Enrique has been defeated and Beatriz rules uncontested as Montanas's Queen.

Turn one: A new Heir to the Kingdom (1560)

You were never supposed to be where you are now. You were supposed to be married off to some noblewoman or Queen from the Confederation. But it was confirmed that your mother would have no more children and she declared that you would be Nacissa's first King-Regnant when she died.
And now three months later here you are. All of Nacissa's noblewoman had assembled at Magdenburg to swear that they would uphold your rights to the throne once your mother died. You could feel all of their eyes on you as your mother formally named you Prince of Crondetante and Lord High Admiral of Nacissa's navy.
Everyone in the room now lined up to kiss your hand with the first being your brothers 14-year-old Alexander and 12-year-old Luke. Next came the nobles of the realm and you can tell each of them is sizing you up wondering how you as a man will rule Nacissa and maintain its independence against it's two larger neighbors.
After everyone swears their oath to you the crowd migrates to the great hall where a scrumptious feast awaits. But you hang behind wondering what you will do now that you are no longer just a prince but now heir apparent.

Find an Advisor: find someone to assist you in the art of diplomacy.
Corresponding with Regubella: The heir of Regubella your cousin Francis has written you a letter congratulating you on your elevation to heir apparent. While you could just send a letter back with meaningless necessities this could be an opportunity to open up correspondence with your cousin.

Martial: You found it hard to get anyone to fill this role as many of the service-woman in the navy felt it a slight to their honor to serve directly under a man. However just before you gave up hope a officer named Isabella Elizondo would volunteer to be your advisor in military affairs. Not finding any other options you instate her as Secretary to the Lord High Admiral and call it a day. (+ 1 military action and + 5 military roll)

Diplomacy: There was no lack of competition for the privilege of being your diplomatic advisor but you choose to go with a unorthodox choice Princess Alienor of Angleland. Angleland is a Regubellian tributary state that occupies the southern and central portions of the island north of Regubella . As to how Alienor ended up in Nacissa it apparently has to do with the fact that her brother Prince Hunstan orchestrated a palace coup against her father King Liudolf. Hunstan killed his father and proclaimed himself king declaring his sister Alienor an outlaw. Luckily for Alienor she was able to escape Angleland and seek refuge on the continent. (+ 1 diplomatic actions and +10 diplomacy rolls due to an actual Princess being your diplomacy advisor. Also -100 relations with Angleland.)

After consoling Alexander he told you he had overheard your parents arguing about the details of his marriage contract. This meant that your parents had arranged for your brother to marry someone and you were determined to find out who. And you did after some snooping you found the contract it said that your fourteen year old brother was to marry the twenty three year old Queen Beatriz of Montanas who was apparently looking to make an alliance to fend off her neighbors while she rebuilt her war ravaged kingdom...Well this was a problem.

Turn two July-December 1560

After six months of doing nothing because you had no one to delegate to you can finally start doing something because today you have convened your first council meeting. It also seems all of your councilors have strong opinions on what you should do as they are already arguing...

Martial: Isabella is...energetic to say the least. She talks faster than most of your councilors can comprehend and is constantly coming up with plans and ideas. Luckily she didn't bring all of her plans. (choose two)
Respect of the Service-woman: It was made abundantly clear in your search for a military advisor that within the navy you supposedly lead that none of the service woman respect you. From the top Admirals to the common sailor you did not get one shred of respect. Isabella has come up with a plan to help you win respect and admiration from within the navy.
Inspect the Navy: As of now you don't know the state of the navy you lead. This is a problem as any minute now your mother could barge into your room and demand a report on the state of her fleet. Isabella and Alienor has stressed that this is a top priority item to get done if you don't want to be considered incompetent.
Establish household guard: When you became Crown Prince you acquired your own household separate from that of your parents household. Problem is that you are still protected by guards that belong to your father King Anne. Isabella wants you to establish your own Household guard that is loyal to you and not to your father.
Fortify Crondetante: As Prince of Crondetante you are responsible for the city's defenses. Problem is that Isabella has informed you that the costal city has no defenses that are in any condition to defend the city. The walls around the city are crumbling and even if they aren't they are obsolete as the peasantry have expanded beyond the walls and made whole new districts outside the city. On the other side of the city the Cannons (some of the precious few Nacissa has) that were mounted on the walls of Palace Bealtrix to protect the harbor have rusted through and can no longer be relied upon to move much less fire a cannonball. Isabella wants to tear down the old walls and build new ones that protect the city and the surrounding farmland that way the city can protect and feed itself if it ever comes under siege. Isabella also wants the smiths to build new ones to replace the old ones that don't work anymore.

Diplomacy: Alienor you quickly realize has the patience of an angle. The only time she ever looses her composure is when someone mentions her brother who she only calls "the kinslayer". People at court among the servants and nobility are so impressed by how gracefully she is handling her exile that people start calling her Princess Alienor and refer to her as Your Highness. (choose two)
Correspondence with Regubella: You declined to open up correspondence with your cousin the Crown Prince of Regubella a couple of months ago. Alienor thinks it was a missed opportunity and that you should try and reopen correspondence with your cousin.
Write to your vassals: You hold feudal authority over a large portion of Nacissa's costal lowlands. Alienor thinks that you should communicate with your vassals and cement their loyalty to you.
Write to Queen Beatriz: Your brother Alexander is scheduled to travel to Montanas next January to marry Queen Beatriz. It might be in your and your brothers interest to establish Beatriz as an ally.

I went to ask her what was wrong and she explained that no one would rent or sell her any land to build the greenhouses on. So I offered to help her by letting her set up the greenhouses on the roofs of the buildings we constructed.
This lead to the next thing that happened. Sailors who stopped at port were thrilled by the exotic foods growing in the greenhouses. The sailors went home and told their friends and this lead to more sailors coming to Crondetante. And now it seems that the city has developed as a waypoint between the ports of the Confederation and Regubella. And this lead to the city developing past our plans with the population jumping from 10,000 to 13,000 people."

Inspect the Navy: The navy is in a decent condition...for Nacissa. The Mountainous Kingdom has for years been focused on her army leaving the navy as the poor relation of the armed services. Currently the fleet is made up of five second rate ships and ten third rate ships. The sailors have also not had much sea time as the fifteen ship fleet mostly stays in port.
Respect of the Service Woman: Isabella's plan was apparently to put you to work; to show that you were capable of doing the same work that common service-woman. And by god was it hard. Your hands were blistered and you somehow always ended up bleeding; but it was worth it by the time your brief service was over you saw a glimmer of respect in most eyes. And one of the woman even came over and gave you a lotion that would help get rid of the blisters all the while mumbling "noblemen and nice hands".

Hold Court: When word gets out your holding court that Saturday Bealtrix Palace is packed to the brim. You spend most of the day settling disputes and sentencing criminals. From what Riley's informants say your reputation is much increased among the populace. That's just a bonus to the fuzzy feeling you get in your stomach from helping people.

This is a problem as most of the Peasantry live as tenants on lands owned by the nobility. So most of the planned schools have not been built and Michelle is seething in rage.
Learn Regubellian: You manage to become moderately fluent in Regubellian and are able to speak in basic sentences though the more complicated words of your father's native language are still beyond your comprehension. Your father is also pleased that you are learning his native language.
