A Heretek on the Quest for Knowledge [40k] [Complete]

Well your magos is a xenophile.
I should note that he isn't literally a xenophile.
and the only thing xeno-anything is good for is burning.
Or for stealing their tech, or turning them into servitors, or for genetically creating a human-xenos hybrid for SCIENCE! or for performing a brain transplant between a human and a xenos! (can a human brain an orc body control orcs?)

Do you not want a human webway? an imperial cruiser with wraithbone adamantium and ceramite composites? Enslaving (instead of exterminating) petty xeno empires? Stealing tau tech? hitching a ride on rogue trader to get to some new xeno species and steal their unique racial tech?

Also, I would prefer literally any other option rather than super boring mcboringsguy the loyalist who isn't even a real heretek

Good thing he's not going to last long with this set of traits. Outspoken AND arrogant!

Humans can do webway without xeno nonsense.

Dark Glass is proof enough of that.

Who needs slavery when you can build robots instead?

Tau tech is worthless compared to Archeotech.

Wraithbone is eldar only, and requires a species worth of stable psykers to produce in any meaningful capacity.

Last time someone went and hybridized humans with Xeno's ended with Legienstrausse.

and that was terrible.

i'd rather not play an idiot who does stupid shit like that.

No they can't. Also, even if human could, there is no archetech basis for it and as such it is tech heresy, specifically xenotech heresy because it is specifically a technology invented by aliens and not by DAOT humans.
Also, studying it would fall under xenotech skill, not archeotech or imperial tech
Dark Glass is proof enough of that.
what?

killjoy
Tau tech is worthless compared to Archeotech.
Tao skim the warp without entering it, making their hyperdrive perfectly safe from demons
Wraithbone is eldar only
I don't think you quite grasp this whole xenotech heresy thing
and requires a species worth of stable psykers to produce in any meaningful capacity.
We could get on that.
Last time someone went and hybridized humans with Xeno's ended with Legienstrausse.
That was a dumb project with dumb design and dumb goals. This is like arguing against genetically engineering healthier pigs because some idiot once decided to genetically engineer super aids which he then released to the public due to being an incompetent moron

Dark glass was a DAoT space station that, with the assistance of a sufficiently powerful psyker, could be used to enter and use the web way.

Unfortunately it got blown up by agents of the navis novilite (traitorous mutant scum)

That is not creating a human webway, it is entering the eldar's webway.

The old ones made the webway, not the eldar.

And there is nothing left of them to study.

Besides there's no need to build a new one we just need to clear out the old one.

Besides I doubt making a webway is even something we could do.

The old ones made the webway, not the eldar.
I literally said so two posts ago.
However, it is now the eldar's webway.
And emps was trying to create a human webway as per latest retcon

No it's not, your just gonna make everything worse.
not really. xenotech actually has a chance of making humanity great again.
Just the warp engines of the tau could completely revolutionize the imperium!
They need no navigators, nor the astronomicon, nor geller fields since they skim the warp on the outside.

Lots of plans with only 1 vote
I was looking to switch from my plan to something else that opposed plane sane. but apparently nope, none available that aren't even lower than xenophile.

Edit: for some reason a 2nd spoiler keeps being placed in my post.

I am unable to fix it as it keeps coming back when I delete it.
Clearly, you have angered the machine spirit.
[x] Plan: Magos Errant Daedalus
I like this one. Might just use him as a side character, if he doesn't get chosen.
currently sane magos is winning... but it is such a boring super sane super stable magos.
His heresy doesn't even really count
Anybody with four flaws cannot be called sane. With the current combination (and the complete lack of diplomacy), you'll be in huge trouble every time you talk to somebody with a higher rank. So don't worry, there'll be fun times ahead.

@Void Stalker Since your plan seems to be winning, do you want to add some backstory?

You know what, I didn't even consider it. This is gonna be hilarious. Thank you.

wait, extreme anti diplomacy as well as laser savant... we are gonna be playing as latminus expy!

I've filled in the rule section and some of the skill descriptions. I have to go now, but I'll be back in a few hours to do the rest. Unless there's been a major shift till then, I'll also call the vote.

Can I get a description on the compassionate trait.

My thoughts right now are that he is a natural genius who has a love of both research and lastech in particular. Of course he wants to make things better for everyone (compassionate) but he just thinks everyone should do as he says since he knows better (arrogant and genius). Due to this and his negative diplo score he does not get promoted as quick as he feels he should (or for that matter would if he had a bit of diplomacy) and due to this is unlikely to respect his superiors (disrespectful) and tends to state what he thinks since it is obviously the right solution (outspoken). Of course despite people holding him back his natural genius forces them to promote him. No this has nothing to do with the fact he found non corrupted STCs at a higher rate than anyone else as an explorer (lucky).

It's important to remember that it's a flaw, and not just because this is 40k. He'd be compassionate in really dumb ways, or in really bad situations. Letting a cultist live, because it's not absolutely clear he's beyond redemption (he wouldn't let him go, but throwing him in a dark hole wouldn't be compassionate either). Holding off on the order to fire, because maybe those pirates aren't pirates and just want to admire the ship from up close. This is not enlightened desire to help his fellow man, it's something more atavistic, stupid and frankly selfish.
It'll give you hard caps on combat, politics, and similar things, and it means you won't be able to run dangerous experiments unless you're doing the dangerous stuff yourself, or you spent a lot of effort on making them safer.

Also, on lucky: He found one STC, and it wasn't even anything particularly good (a stubber longarm). He just found it in the archives of his forgeworld where it really shouldn't have been, through a series of strange coincidences.

Oh... then toss out compassionate and replace it with something else.

anything that overly hinders SCIENCE! must go.
