It has been five years since the last great war between the nation-states of Modun, and a time of rebuilding and recuperation has just slowed down. Borders are now permeable to trade and diplomatic ties between the three great nations - the Goliatun Necessity, the Iliad Federation, and the Beliale Hegemony - have been opened. Each nation, however, protects its secrets, strengths, and weaknesses developed in the isolation of peace immediately following the war. Few internal parties to the nations wanted to take the steps towards reaching out to their neighbors, but economic interests within the Iliad Federation pushed them to be the first to extend olive branches outwards.
