"What?" I quickly sit up and blinking the sleep out my eyes before staring at the fading notification. A quick glance around revels that I'm not in my bed, it seems that I've instead woken up in an alley… that's not something that has ever happened to me before. In fact I'm Decidedly not ok with this, I've never relay had a panic attack before but i think i may be close. But panicking not going to help anyone. After a few Moments of shock I manage to push through calm myself down and pick myself up off of the ground. Okay yah it is what i think it is, The information both simultaneously displays itself in front of me and subconsciously makes itself known to me, and well, it gives a lot of both questions and answers. Like why is my username there? Do covenants imply gods, or maybe religious benefits? I'm also pretty sure that those stats don't properly represent me well, unless The Gamer changed me in some way already… its also its quite a bit warm here for December, AH HELL the Skyline is different too! 'After seeing the wall of text, I look down at myself incredulously. apparently even with 7 Perception I can miss the most obvious things, like the fact that I'm wearing my edgiest clothing. Although it seems that theirs a hidden gem hiding in my pocket, a freaking manual, although I cant relay just stand around in an ally that'll be asking for for trouble. I could probably find a bench in a park or a coffee-shop if this city is anything like Chicago.'

*00*00*

Your [INT] has increased by 2!

'It had taken me somewhere around an hour to find the little park I was sitting in and another to read the manual… It was all a very dry but informative read, filled with numbers that meant SOMETHING but don't give much in the way of context. It mostly seamed to follow what I thought of as The Gamer with a few different were some rules about the functions of the inventory1, and the stats INT2, ARCANE3, PER4. There was also scaling on weapons and items from E to S similar to the system Dark Souls had Rather than damage values being conferred only weapon. Oh, and that integrate button was to connect my phone to The Gamer interface and any music files could be downloaded for the background music, so was able to access the gamer menu on my phone and vice versa, it also downloaded my music for background music. The whole thing was very useful… or well, it would be useful if I could get any service…' It actually seamed as though some of the information was obscured until I encountered a trigger. For instance the manual said nothing about Stats improving through use until AFTER my INT increased for the first time, The words literally formed as I was reading it. I don't think I'll get anymore use out this, although it be good to read it later.

'That being said, it's way past time to get up and find out where I am. It is starting to get dark and I still have no idea where I am, hell I should probably just ask someone. There is a building in the background that I think is the Empire State building so, I might be in New York. I'm not sure though, the quest is still active so I might be in another world or time. Maybe I'm in Jojo, I could probably get help if I can find the Speedwagon Foundation. I'll just be all like hey look at this supernatural weirdness, and pull my wallet out of my inventory/thin-air and then they'll be all like "oh wow this guy is serious, and at least it's not more of those damn vampires or STAND-wielding dogs."

Very soon after that train of thought my hopes of getting a stand blew up as if Killer Queen Took personal offense at the idea.

I wait with bated breath until I see my HP tick up by one and let out a long sigh of relief. So good, since I'm not gonna die from tripping over any debris I should probably get out of here, but… if I'm right and The Gamer is accurate, that was the Ray Sphere and if the story plays true some really horrible people are going to try and salvage the device and try to cause… well…' I look around at what used to be a park and crowded streets, it was sobering, the game gave a hint of the shear devastation but the real thing was no comparison,

'could I live with myself if I let this happen again? Hell, the game uses a damn karma system, its canon that Cole becomes a hero but there is no proof that that'll happen here. And then there may be any other survivors that weren't shown in game, after all this city is not confined to the limitations of an early PS3 game'…I reach into my pocket and pull out a red vial out of my inventory."

"Yah I could probably save a few people with this just these."

That's a lot of question-marks, in fact the system specifically omits whether or not the reputation is positive or genitive. For all I know it may be every villainous faction in the city....

"AH hell I guess Im going to Something stupid... "

'[Yes],[Yes]'

And with that I started to climb over the rubble.

AN:

1Time is frozen inside of the inventory, living organisms can be stored inside the inventory however they receive brain and nervous system damage relative to the organism's complexity and sapience outside of few exceptions, some AIs can also receive damage depending on what state of consciousness at which they entered the Inventory, any integrated Communications device is exempt from these rules

2 Arcane relating to esoteric power either Psionic, Magic, Dimensional or others, converting [MP] into whatever the user needs. MP amount is governed by this stat.

3 Intelligence correlates to the ability to gather and use information, along with providing bonuses to crafting, mathematics, physics, and technical skills; Skill also correlates to the creation of more complex magic skills, items, runes, and rituals where [MP] comes from a secondary source.

4 Perception relates to perceptive abilities, also affects any extrasensory and data gathering abilities developed. Affects accuracy and long-range attacks such as bows, guns, and distance ability.

Well, here it is, my first attempt at posting anything creative. I'm not gonna lie this Fic is most likely going to have sporadic updates, I've been trying to write some thing for a little while now and I've found that i have a habit of writing the first few chapters then writing the start to something else, so I'm posting this and hoping that lights a fire under me. I'm also posting this as I've noticed a distinct lack of infamous content which is a shame as its one of my favorite game series and i feel it has some room that a good author can expand upon.

So with that out of the way i hope I've sparked some interest, and if you have any advice or fun ideas Feel free share! I do have some idea of what I want to happen but the story is pretty open ended at this point.

Chapter 2: Running Around in Circles

'I should probably have planned this out a bit more. It's not that I ran into trouble, the problem is that I've actually got no idea what the hell I'm doing. I just thought I needed to go to the center of the blast but turns out; trying to find your way through a bombed-out neighborhood is a bit more complicated than going down to the local pharmacy. Hell, on top of that it's going to be near impossible to find anybody if they've gotten buried under anything, its not like I've got some way to tell if… oh wait.' The only skill I have, observe is specifically an information skill.

I don't quite face-palm, but it's a near thing. With that said I look the closest pile of rubble and "[OBSERVE]"

Rubble

A pile of rubble. Probably created during the blast. Won't be cleaned up for a long time. Absolutely nothing important about in this pile.

Don't you have better things to do than look at a pile of rocks?

'… ok I'm going to just assume that sass right there is a canned response, rather than that my powers think this is a good time to mess with me. Especially considering looking at rocks may actually be one of the best things I could possibly be doing right now, or at least trying to find out if people may be in there. Although maybe I could out more if I… [OBSERVE]'

[OBSERVE 2/99]

Ruins of Thompson's grill

Thompson's grill; an iconic grease trap opened in 1946, now it nothing but ruins in the south-east of Ground Zero.

Completely collapsed, there's no way anyone survived.

'Ah PERFECT, well not that last part, but now I have a location and I just have to look at the buildings in the distance and [OBSERVE].'

Station building

The tallest building in empire city, smashed and battered by the Blast, yet somehow still stubbornly standing just north of Ground zero.

'Heh, looks like North-West is that way.' I feel My face start to turn to a slight grin. 'How the hell could I forget? I'm a god-damn Gamer, I have all the tools I need, I just need to ABUSE THEM. Lest start by SPAMMING Observe.'

Your INT has increased by ONE!

I start moving faster down to Ground Zero spamming observe at everything I can see. That building over there [OBSERVE], that car [OBSERVE], that bus [OBSERVE], Those rocks over there [OBSERVE]! Pretty soon I start to catch my stride I'm quickly dashing through the remains of the street while Observing as much as I can. Its actually a bit surprising, I've never had much stamina, yet I'm maintaining quite a bit of speed while climbing over toppled over buildings. While I'm not moving particularly fast, it's not long before I eventually reach Ground Zero. And honestly the sight caused me to stop, eyes widening in surprise.

Through continuous movement over dangerous terrain your DEX increased by one!

It may have taken me a seconded or two to move past the whole 'Holy shit the ground is still on fire!' thing, in my defense though I've ever seen anything like this before. Thankfully I'm staring to get over the shock of the whole untold amounts of devastation thing. There also SOMEHOW seems to be a relatively cooled path corkscrewing around the blast epicenter. 'Shit it looks like Cole already left, is the damn sphere even still there?

I would like to say I managed to get down there without much trouble, but that is a lie. I managed to climb my way over a still standing fence without problem but the path honestly becomes pretty bullshit after that. The next thing I had to do was jump on top of a bus, and well I did land on it, I just landed with my face.

-5 HP

It didn't get much better after that, the bus apparently didn't take to me climbing it vary well and then and stared to tip over the ledge. Scrambling not to fall off I barely manage to grip onto the ledge right as the bus tips over onto its side, thankfully it doesn't quite land into the fire but… just ow.

Your DEX increased by one!

[Damage resistance: Falling 1/99]

"Great" I groaned out, puling myself back on top of the bus…

"ahh"

Looks like I'm not the only one who age… 'WAIT DID THAT COME FROM THE BUS!?!' [OBSERVE]

Bus # 21300

A bus mostly destroyed by The Blast and was used as a way to climb in and out of ground zero until a careless individual managed to tip it over. There are some faint noises coming from the inside

'Oh hell! It did' "Hey can you hear me in there? I'm gonna try and get you out!" panicking I clamber my way over the emergency exit and drop down into the destroyed bus and oh boy was I not prepared for what was inside. You see outside there was a lot of destruction and fire and danger; however, when it comes to fatalities, there tends to be a distinct lack of bodies, The Blast happens to vaporize them. Apparently though, it seems that inside of buildings and some vehicles there is some degree of shielding. About just enough to leave several charred corpses and keep the distinctive piles of ash from blowing away.

But that's not what is important right now, quickly suppressing my reaction I make my way to the front of the bus where a girl is laying face-down covered in blood and missing an arm. 'This is obviously not good; can this potion even heal that much… ok no, don't pay much attention to that, I should probably fix what I can first then figure out what's healing and what's not.'

'So, let's see Tourniquet around the stump… ok shit I guess I'll use the sleeve that's not really goanna get much use anymore, and is there a stick or piece of metal to tie it to I think? … ok there's a lot of bruising or is that a sign of internal bleeding? I've got to hope the potion clears that up. She probably has a head injury cause she's unconscious… another thing for the potion. Ok bandage ok wounds done." Well I for I try my best to patch her up, but the last time I learned first aid was 6 years ago and I've never really had any opportunity to use it since. The only thing left to try is the potion, I pull out the vail out of my [INVENTORY] and place to her neck aiming it at her artery and press the button on the end.

+ 75 HP

Skill [FIRST AID 1/25] Gained!

Due to skill synergy [OBSERVE] can now Give Medical Information (dependent on PER and Medical related skills).

'Oh my god did it work? The thing just spurted in so fast I was worried that her veins would explode like in that video about how stim-packs wouldn't work1. I guess its Fucking magic or whatever. Huh I could probably use [OBSERVE].

Chapter 3: And the gears begin to turn.

'Today was very tiring.' I quickly flipped a quarter through my fingers before passing it over my thumb and flipping it up into the air. I try to catch it by passing it over the back my fingers…. and I fumble the coin, it bounces off the back of my hand and I try reaching for it with my other hand only to push it further. It hits the ground once… twice… 'aaand it's under the couch, great.'

-0.25$

'I don't think this 'DEX training' is working very well if at all.' I thought to myself as Dwight walked in.

Now Dwight was one of the first responders helping patch people up after the blast. When I passed of that girl (Whose name I later found out was Clair Bright) I took a chance and pulled out the Health Vials in front of his face. After about 10 seconds of staring he apparently decided, fuck it, and used them worst cases before taking us to a discrete clinic. And if they weren't going to keep quiet before, well they quickly changed their minds after I burned that [Heal Aid] book. Now [Heal Aid] isn't some sort of Panacea, in fact it's really only for relatively low injuries, it only heals physical damage, and has a lot of limitations. Thankfully those are all soft limitations rather than hard limits.

Everyone involved quickly worked out that we could use it to keep people alive during rather dangerous surgeries, and the fact that [Heal Aid] didn't leave much in the way of scar tissue while working as more of a regenerative effect pretty much made it pretty much eliminate recovery time. Due to the fact that people were being healed in hours, and in a few cases less than a 30 min, the risk of infection dropped severely while saving beds for the more critically injured. While it wouldn't take long for the news of a "miracle healer" to spread around the city, what I do have is a few days to test out my skills and a temporary place to stay. In fact, helping out even gave me an easy quest. Through which I leveled again, increased my INT and ARCANE to 8, upped my CHR by one, and gave skill ups to [Heal aid] [First Aid] and [Observe].

Dwight sulked his way past me, dropping a pile of old books pamphlets and magazines onto the coffee table before plopping himself into the couch. He reaches for the remote to the staff TV, he clicks it on only to get nothing but static.

"Networks are down cause of the EMP" I said absentmindedly.

He looks at me, then at the TV like it just kicked his puppy, before sighing. "Ah come on this sucks, can't even relax properly" he gives me a sidelong glance "you gonna eat those books I dug up for ya or what?"

I lean over to see what I've got…

A Beginners guide to Meditation and Spirituality [10 ARCANE 10 INT]

The Human Body: Anatomy and Physiology [14 INT]

Organic Chemistry [18 INT]

A History Metallurgy, Smithing, and Warfare [10 INT]

Nutrition: Clean and Healthy living!

Rules of the road: Driving safely and legally

First Aid and Emergency Care [+5 to First Aid]

Meeting People and Making Friends [+10 speech for 1h]

Not a bad haul, I'm almost tempted to spend some points. Tossing the currently unusable skill books into my inventory, I begin to absentmindedly Flip through what I can use. As I do so the pages begin to softly glow before they catch with a golden fire. I pay it no heed turning the pages faster and FASTER until it leaves nothing but a slowly dissipating golden ash swirling around as I do the same for the next 2. 5 minutes later, and perhaps a bit more fanfare than necessary, I have some new minor skills.

You've learned the skills:

[Nutrition 10/99]

+2 to HP and MP gained from healthy food and drink per level

[Driving: Basic 5/25]

Ho to drive a variety of vehicles; currently limited to street-legal civilian vehicles.

[First Aid is now 15/25]

"Oh pretty, do it again." Dwight responds, the light having grabbed his attention.

"I would but the others have Stat requirements." I said "Even though I already know how to meditate and took anatomy, I feel like I should be able use these books just cause of that."

"Apparently your own power disagrees, considering its pretty much bending reality over I'd listen to it if I was you." Dwight snarks with an arched eyebrow. "So, you've really got nothing else cool you could do?"

"Not really, I mean I could spend some points and I do have a random skill book, but I kinda want to save them until later as I can up stats by using them."

"What? That's stupid." Dwight responds before seeing the look of confusion on my face. "Here, let me tell you why. First, this city just got bombed or hit by a pissed off Zeus or whatever, right? So that means between the looting, the gangs, trying to move through the rubble, and the city generally going to shit before the military and police can restore order, you're not going to have TIME to try and work through the early stats efficiently.

Second, there's nothing stopping you from upping those skills through training later, except that you'll need to go through more effort and you're probably going to end up training later anyway, so by not using them all you'll end up doing pushing off the harder training until later.

And lastly, if learning opportunities are going to be barred by your stats, you should try get an even spread of starting points as soon as possible so you can learn the most you can, as fast as you can. I would probably actually agree with your plan if it wasn't for the whole city in ruins thing, especially with you being able to heal people."

Huh, maybe he's right. In most other gamer fics I read most people do end up saving there points till they need them, but they almost always have at least SOME time to train, I don't. This city gets bad FAST with plagues, riots, thefts, murder and more. 'Ah fuck It I'll deal with it later if this is a bad idea. [STATUS]'

The books once again alight with a golden fire, only this time halfway through they turn into sparks before traveling up my arms and disappearing under my collar. so, sorry this was a little late, I didn't have much time to work on this with work being work and me being tired.

Also edited previous chapter a bit, i didn't feel like all the spoilers i put in really helped all that much.

oh and yes i chose to use Electro-MagnetoKinesis like Cole uses, it's simply my favorite power in the series, and I have a pretty good idea of a lot ways i can progress it.

Also yes my lighting is green instead of blue or red, but my defense green lightning does actually exist and the same effect that causes blue or red lightning can cause Green lighting *THE MORE YOU KNOW!*

Chapter 4: Playing with the new toys

[Magnetic levitation (basic) 4/20]

While we were walking up the stairs I had pulled out a roll of quarters from my inventory and managed to get them each into their own orbit around my head like my own private solar system. 'It's actually pretty hard each orbit requires a slightly different field, and keeping them all spinning around me requires quite a bit of multi-tasking. Oh and I'm pretty much guessing how to keep each field as I can only perceive them when I generate them, after that I get a vague sense of how my power can interacts with what I've generated… wait could I see them if I pumped Perception? Ah shit, well there goes that as a dump stat.' I thought to myself as I followed Dwight.

When we got to the the roof we found Dr. Karen Brooke, a tall six-foot two woman with long and straight red hair in her somewhere in her late 20's to early 30's. She was sitting down and looking over several folders. Her Eyes glanced to my crown of floating quarters. She gave me a strained look as if trying to find a way to ask me to stop pulling out new bullshit in front of her, she then put a cigarette up to her lips and took in a deep breath. "So… now you also have telekinesis?" she exasperatedly let out while leveling me a tired glare.

"Actually its…*heh*... technically [Electro-Magnetokinesis] *heh heh*." I said a with a touch of nervousness. She somehow looks even more un-impressed, Dr. Brooke is actually the smartest person I've observed so far with an impressive 24 INT, and I don't really think she likes not knowing things. 'I don't know it may as well be using magic for as much as I know.' probably was the best way to answer about how [Heal Aid] worked even if it's technically true.

"That's... EVEN WORSE! WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THE DAMN ENERGY TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY!?" She lets out an exasperated sigh before calming down. "Sorry, I don't mean to get so pissed, it's just that I want an answer that isn't 'Possibly Magic', or 'maybe psychic bullshit energy'." she says making quotation marks with her fingers. "It probably didn't help that that unconscious, one-armed, currently anemic girl you two brought in tore off her beds guardrail in her sleep."

*Whoeuw* Dwight whistles "That's pretty impressive, she's like what Five -three at most? Hey Draco, you ain't gonna suddenly pull out some Super-strength on top of all of lightning, 'magic' healing, and book eating are ya?" He said elbowing me in the side causing me to drop my coins.

-$1.00

"Hrm? EH? No, why bother, I can just fake it with strong enough magnetokinesis. Oh wait, you're joking, sorry I missed that." I said absently while picking up my coins and putting them back in my pocket/[inventory]. +$1.00

Ah look! there's a vending machine in the corner, it looks like the EMP fried it. I wonder if i can give it a bit a jump start. I head over towards the machine. As soon as I face it, I turn around around and deliver a spinning kick burying my left heel into its side whilst simultaneously firing off a small electrically charged EM field into it.

You've created the skill [Force 1/10]
(Emit a Concussive Wave of Electromagnetism That Knocks Back Enemies and Objects, Basic Blasts Deal No Damage Themselves)

You've created the skill [Shock Strike 1/15]
(Augment Your Physical Strikes With Your Lightning. Adds +10 damage to your physical attacks)
You've created the skill [Blast Strike 1/10]
(Fire a [Shock-wave] after your physical strikes, 50% less Knock-back than a standard blast)
The vending machine tilts, sputters, and flashes, a part of me thinks it's going to break. Then as quickly as it began it rights itself, and vomits its out what is probably a good third of its contents. 'OH, WOW! I wasn't expecting that to actually work much less getting skills out of it! Hell that really shoulda just broken the lock open or something… ok, play it cool, don't act surprised.'

Looking over my shoulder I point my thumb to the machine, keeping my face as neutral as possible "Hey, do either of you want a drink?" 'yes perfect! WITNESS ME!'

"Sure, *sigh* why not." Dr. Brooke says walking over to pick up a can. *click PSHHH* "Look are you sure that you don't know anything about why you have powers?"

"Umm…" 'ok, how to say this without mentioning that I know this because I played a video game that featured your world… oh I got it!' "Well the weird information gathering bit of my power kept referencing a 'Conduit Gene' and whether it was activated or not. From what I could tell there also seems to be a Specialty, or perhaps it's more like a concept, that dictates how someone's power will manifest. Although I don't know if its random, genetics, dependent or their mental state or what. So far the only other people I saw that had it activated where that girl, and a man that managed to run into the Neon before the bridge collapsed. But I'd bet my savings that they aren't the only ones that'll be waking up with superpowers soon, and not everyone will be as helpful as I've been."

"Really?" Dwight pipes in.

I nod

"Reeeally." the Doctor asks.

"Yes, Really." Once again, I reaffirm.

"It's just, I'm pretty Genetics just don't work that way." says Dwight.

"Yah me too, but I'm not going to argue with my cheaty reality bending power anymore." I toss back at him.

"Ouch my own words, that's low man." anguished Dwight.

"SOOO," I say while clapping my hands together in an attempt to change the topic. "Are we going to try and science the shit out of my new power or what? Either of you two got got any ideas?"

I grab some of the cans with my [Magnetic Levitation] and… 'What the fuck? Dr. Crush, Mr. Mister, Bullfrog Root-beer… just, what the fuck... OK fine, different world, different brands, whatever.' I pop open the Dr. Crush and take a sip while Dwight plucks the can of Bullfrog from the air. 'Huh, Dr. Crush is like a Peach Coke, it's surprisingly good. A bit flat, though that's to be expected'.

And with that we began brainstorming, and oh boy did we come up with some cool stuff.

You've created the skill [ThermoMagnetic Crafting]
Use Magnetic Induction to Heat and Mold Objects into a desired form

You've created the skill [Magnetize]
Magnetize yourself to the metal in a wall, ceiling, or floor to assist in travel

You've created the skill [Emit Force 1/10]
Emit a Sphere of Electromagnetic Force That Releases a Concussive Wave upon impact (no damage)

You've created the skill [Scatter Blast 1/10]
Throw Variable Ammunition Into The Air Before Casting Force, Launching Them Like a Shotgun (deals damage dependent on each pellet)

You've created the skill [Molten Shot 1/30]
Melt a Chunk of Metal Before Firing it (charge time 4s 8s 10s)
(Damage 25/50/90)

You've created the skill [Arc Lightning 1/25]
Releases a Continuous Stream of Lightning, Short Range (10 damage per second).

You've created the skill [Magnetic Launcher 1/20]
Fire a Stream of Variable Ammunition Using a Low-Powered Railgun (Variable damage)

You've created the skill [Flash and Bang]
Electromagnetically Excite Aluminum to Produce high levels of Light and Noise

~RING RING!~RING RING!~

Incoming Call From 'Dr. Karen Brooke' [Accept]?

"Ah Hello" I said Clicking on the pop-up,

"Hey Draco, since you're already out would you mind stopping by the docks? There's another shipment of supplies coming in that we could use at the clinic."

*Ding*

[Quest!]

A Medical Emergency
-Help deliver medical and food supplies to Westwood Medical Clinic.
Rewards: 80XP, increased reputation towards city medical facilities, increased reputation with Dr. Brooke and Dwight. 2 lesser health potions.

Accept: [Yes] [No]

'[yes]'"Yeah no problem, just tell me where to go."

"Oh Thanks, yah the pickup is over in The Warren, just west of Bayview Hospital… do you need me to send you a map link?"

"Yah that would be helpful, thanks I'll see ya later."

*CLICK*

Address received: Updating map…

It's not a short distance by any means, Im currently on the south side of the Neon. If I were a normal human it would probably take you about an hour or two just to get over there. 'Now it's a good thing I'm not a normal human anymore is it?' I stand up and stretch out my limbs before equipping my new armor, causing my clothes to faintly glow before vanishing and being replaced with the painted Gold and Black super-conductive steel.
I look down at my costume and give a proud grin, it was hard to figure out and it had more than a few failures. The metal plates rest over ferro-fluid inserts, which are suspended under a programmed magnetic field so it absorbs and displaces impacts. The cloth is actually conductive textile that helps me absorb and dissipate electric charges, although that was a happy accident, I was originally just adding steel to the thread so that I could weave it with my powers. All in all I am pretty happy, its manipulable with my magneto-kinesis, resistant to low to mid-caliber arms fire, and it looks awesome. The only problem would be lots of fire, non-electric heat, or if the fluid inserts rupture(1), but for that I have gallons of DI water in my [Inventory] (2). Is it the best armor? Probably not, in fact if I get strong enough I could probably control some kind of steel golem like some kinda mecha, hell there are people that do that with Telekinesis in THIS reality. But its protection isn't the only thing it's got going on for it.

I wrap myself in a magnetic field and sprint towards the edge of the roof i happen to be standing on. As I hit the edge I leap into a ball while tossing the field, essentially forming a coil-gun with my armor being the projectile...

You've Created the Skill [Mag Leap]
Form a Magnetic Field to launch yourself into a direction of your choice (requires a ferromagnetic armor to be equipped)

...And I launch myself into the air. I flip once, twice, before spreading myself out as I fly through the air with a huge smile with the wind whipping past my ears.

Pretty soon gravity decides that the fun is over, and attempts to assert itself, pulling me down towards certain death. But I have a different idea, and use a magnetic field to pull my armor towards a skyscraper on my side and I [Magnetize] myself to the steel buried in the wall, while I twist to redirect my speed so that I end up dashing across the skyscraper until I reach another ledge at where I perform another [Mag Leap].

'I may not be able to fly just yet but turning myself into a human cannonball is a close second.'

Incoming Call From 'Dwight Fletcher' [Accept]?

Yo Draco you've Got to check this out! People are talking about how there's someone FLYING down in the Neon, you're down there right? You've Gotta check it out, you mentioned something about trying to get a bunch of other Conduits right come on man this would be perfect!"

"Oh trust me were already well acquainted" I said trying, and failing to keep from laughing like an absolute madman.

"Wait... you've got to BE SHITING ME!" Screamed Dwight with no small amount of Jealousy.

"WEELL, if it makes you feel better, I'm not actually FLYING." I said while latching on to another Building. 'Dash, dashing, and [MAG LEAP]!'

"Being able to leap tall buildings in a single bound isn't any better" Dwight snarks. "*sigh* didn't you say something about laying low for Awhile?"

"Yah, for a few days, in fact I wasn't expecting people to stay quiet for this long. You, Brooke, and all the others at the clinic have really helped me out, thanks by the way."

"Ah forget about it" Dwight responds. "it's not like you haven't been pulling your weight with your 'Magic Hands'."

"Well thanks to you I can now begin phase two of my grand plan "SHIT!"... I screamed as I crashed into a fucking Sky Rat.

-60 HP

The fucker knocks me off course and I just start flailing, trying to get back on track. Thankfully I had traveled through most of the Neon by now so I didn't necessarily crash into a building, or worse the street. Unfortunately that means I took a dip into the Atlantic in all of my metal armor and I start sinking fast, my helmet filling with water.

"SHIT SHIT [INVENTORY]! [UNEQUIP]! [UNEQUIP] NOW!" kicking up I barely manage to break the surface in time. 'Well... shit'. 'damn It's a good thing I don't have the same sparking problem that Cole does.'

"Dude what the hell happened are you OK." Dwight asks with concern.

"Yah yah i guess I shouldn't talk on the phone while Flying." I said, starting to swim towards shore. "I just happened to crash into some big ass bird, landed in the drink otherwise I'd say Im fine."

I manage to pull myself up the pier when i hear the fluttering of wings and a loud thump. M tilt my head up from the ground just to see…

"SCKREEEEE!!"

A Giant Fucking Rat that just so happens to also have wings.
"SCKREE!" The thing lets out a pissed scream as it takes a leap right at me, fully intending to claw my eyes out. I barely manage to scramble out of the way and [EQUIP] my armor. It's a good thing I managed to dodge, as the rat tares out a chunk of concrete the size of my head when it landed. 'How strong is this thing? [OBSERVE]'

"Feather Rat"

'Christ when I called it a sky rat I didn't think it was an actual sky rat.'

The monstrosity shakes the concrete off of its head before flapping its pair of black-diseased looking wings and launching itself towards me.

"Time to MOVE" making a much more graceful dodge by subtly pulling my armor, I manage to dance out of its improto dive.

As the rat flaps its wings and begins to circle me in the air, I come out of my dodge and into a combat stance, pulling about 5LB of iron sand from my [inventory] to swarming it around my right hand as well as several 3in iron rods in the other. Focusing on the flying rodent as it circles in air before it comes into another dive. This time instead of dodging I throw a right hook into its jaw launching it with a [blast strike].

It doesn't go far, smacking into the ground about 7 or 8 feet away. That's probably for the best though as I can't really miss when I launch 4 rods into its flank.

"SKREEEEEK"

The rat manages to mostly dodge the last hit and digs its claws into the concrete before coming into a charge, seemingly ignoring the fact the 3 rods embedded in it.

I try to control its movement with blast of [Force]. The rat however just digs its claws in more, tearing up the pavement with its strength before leaping at me. I quickly try pull myself away with magno-kinesis but the thing manages to graze my shoulder slamming the pauldron down with enough force to slightly dent the metal and temporarily overwhelm the force absorption.

-40 HP -Bonus- Do not take damage from Feather Rat 50 XP- failed-

The hit stings, but not nearly enough to keep me from forming a curved knife with my Iron Sands and dragging my right hand across its eyes.
*Crit! -120HP!*

The monster begins squealing and thrashing on its sides throwing blood and a nasty looking purple slime, before it flips over and sneers at me over its mared snout.

"Oh what did I hit you to hard? You mangy overgrown-"

*Plop,..plooop... plop*
Feather Rat Revealed its ability [Unstable Evolution]
"-shit"

The iron rods lodged in it begin to pop out of its side as its skin begins to writhe and part, revealing white blood-stained bone outlined by its grimy clotted tracts of fur and feathers. The flesh on its head seems to melt of entirely leaving a smooth, horned, eyeless skull.
Evolved [Armor Plated]
"SKREEEEEE!"

'Ok this has to be a bit much for Rodent don't you think'

Apparently Murphy disagrees, because the now plated Rodent decides to rear up up onto its hind legs and begins gathering a green and oily fire in its maw.

Knowing a floor hazard when I see one, I rush behind a car just as the rat vomits, spreading oil and sickly black-Green flames around the street.

Feather Rat Revealed [Toxic Flame Breath]
'Well fuck this I've had enough' I pull all the iron sand from my inventory wrapping my entire forearms with the black swirling mass as I [Mag Leap] in a parabolic arc. I land right on the beast's back, bringing both arms forward merging the sands into a twisting spear.

*Crit! -150HP!*

You've created the skill [Iron Sand: Spear 1/50]

You've created the skill [Iron Sand: Spire Drop 1/25]

The spear sinks right in, the combination of the drilling sands and what is probably over 400 pounds of force shears right through its spine spreading chunks of meat and blood everywhere.

Although still the thing isn't dead yet, and SOMEHOW, even with its Spine shredded, bucks me off of its back. Drooling green fire and oil all over as it desperately crawls away, from the looks of things its trying to reach some of people cowering behind whatever scraps of cover that either couldn't escape, or stayed out of some sense of morbid curiosity some. I can put two and two together, its heading towards easier prey, it's probably going to attempt to fuel its [Consumption] ability. 'Well let's see if we can put a stop to that shall we.'

Stepping around the flames still burning on the ground, I approach the retreating rodent. 'still have about a third of my mana left, more than enough' I dash forward and light it up with [Arc Lightning]...

"SKKKEKREREREEEEE!"

...and hold it until there is nothing left but cooked meat and ash...

'Man that thing was way more trouble than it should have been, hell,] can I even use this skill with my helmet?' looking around it seems like everyone else managed to run while I finished it off, I should probably follow their lead. 'OH… I still have to pick up supplies' slumping forward I begin to wonder of towards the warren.

'Maybe I'll get enough XP to level again.'

1 Ferrofluids (or at least the ones i read about) are a skin irritant.

2 (note this won't actually work as I think it would be an oil fire, it should be baking soda, but SI me forgot and the Internets down so I couldn't look it up, well sucks for him when he figures it out.)

Interlude I: Quiet Black Wings

Huginn picked at the corpse left behind by the strange storm-man.

Mistress had wanted them to keep an eye on the big Rat-Bird, it kept eating you're smaller friends and the occasional lost human-chick. But now YOU were eating IT! The only way mistress would be happier would be if the storm-man hadn't taken most of the bones with him.

Truly Looking around with the Sight that mistress has granted you, shows that those strange, invisible men who carry metal tanks upon their backs, were also watching the fight. They put away a metal and glass object they had pointed at storm-man and began to leave.

Before you and your brother could follow them. A small burning comes from Mistress's Mark on your left side. Mistress wants us to come home, so you both take off. Flying over the chaos that has begun to take over the city…

Eventually the Nest comes into view, a old abandoned human-dwelling that Mistress likes to call a Church. The place is already filled with the smaller of the flock, so you begin taking note of what the little ones have seen along the city, Mistress doesn't like to hear the news from all of us at once, that's why she has you do it. You have the best memory after all, she says that's she named you Muginn.

A young girl of around 12 or 13 enters enters the room, She has long black hair tied into a tight braid, and wears an old hooded gray leather jacket over a tattered yellow sundress. On her back are a pair of black feathered wings, slowly dissipating into a black eldritch mist.

"Huginn! Muginn! Come here! Mommy wants to know what you've gotten for me."

'MISTRESS!' while flapping over to give Mistress the news you see Huginn just flops onto the ground like the big lug that he is and rolls over. Mistress just sighs and goes to pet him, his wings playfully batting against her arm honestly he always acts like an idiot around mistress- 'OH MY GOD SNIK- SNACKS!'... and just like that you immediately leap towards her open hand.

*00*00*

You love your little birbs, you really do. But half the time they act like a bunch of fools, if it weren't for the Link, sometimes you would wonder if they had any brains between the both of them . Or maybe it's because of the link you know how silly they actually are. 'Ah well not like it matters, they're still dependable.'

When Muginn finishes the assortment of seeds you gave her. You pick her up hardly noticing the weight of the dog sized bird, and head to the old desk you've scavenged from the old Pastor's office. Pushing aside the assortment of bones, carving tools, and a picture of your parents to the side. You set her upon the desk and lift her left wing exposing the Mark on her flank, a near replica of the one on your left hand. You hesitate for a second before putting your marked hand against it. Both begin to glow, and you SEE what Muginn has seen…

THROUGHOUT THE CITY TWO PLAGUE SPREAD, BOTH MADE BY MAN, ONE TRAVELS THE STREAMS SPREAD BY RED-CLOAKED SLAVES, THE OTHER BY LANDS BLIGHTED FROM THE DOOM THAT RECENTLY VISITED THIS CITY.

"grrRAA!" 'WHOEVER said powers would be fun was a dirty liar.' Now you just feel sad and have a massive headache. Your not even 14 yet, you should have just said no when that weird man asked if you wanted powers. Now you have to deal with having no food, weird cults, stupid prophecy's, and cutting up bones and… and... the end of the world, and and you just wanted to find daddy you miss mom, and your going to punch Kessler in his STUPID EVIL FACE.

You don't even realize your crying until you feel feathers try to nuzzle and comfort you. You hug Muginn back and lift her off the desk into your lap. 'Ok, your a big girl now. You've got to write the stupid prophecy and everything else the birds saw going on in the city, and then you should find look for everyone it mentioned.'

*thwomp*

Looking up from the piece of paper you dug out from the drawer you see that Morgan, another one of your bigger familiars, has brought you back some food. On the desk is a bag marked Chummy Chicken, you know your typical fast food stop found everywhere.

"Ok, I'll look for them later." You open the bag to find some warm chicken nuggets and fries, and immediately start munching on them. "I wonder how you keep finding these?" you ask the Large Raven with a mouth full of fries.

"CAAWWW!" You could probably use the mark to figure it out, but that smug look on her beak says it all.

A.N.
Well this is the chapter were we see the first hints of the Multi-cross, I left a few hint as to what this world is actually crossed with although this girls power is one that is know to vary from user to user so it may not be readily apparent.
Anyways i tell me what you think about this chapter I'm not actually sure about it, i like the content but I'm not necessarily certain if its portrayed well enough so i may Edit depending on how its received.

Note on minor rewrite for interlude 1
So here's the thing I was reading over Quiet Black wings and I figured out the problem I felt when I was writing it. I'm gonna change the whole precognition bit so it works more like the Heart otherwise its going to cause problems in the future especially since I'm writing this impromptu rather than planing Everything out.

Chapter 6: The Glasses Do NOTHING!

I decided to walk to the pier rather than [Mag Launch] around the city. I was just a bit to mentally exhausted from killing that stupid rat. In hindsight it weren't actually too dangerous, just really tanky and ugly.

Although, I think that's that rat that killed a bunch of people in John White's audio log, didn't they kill those tho? Uhg i guess it was too much to ask for things to stay easy and predictable.

Eventually after a bit of introspection I made it to the pier. A chain link fence had erected at the entrance guarded by some kind of military personnel to keep the protesters who gathered in hopes of leaving or contacting the outside.
//Attention citizens, ships designated for evacuation WILL be arriving Tomorrow at 3:00pm please disperse and bring your ids and passports at 3:00pm tomorrow so that we can offload emergency supplies to medical personnel// I repeat, please disperse ...//

A bit earlyer I had ducked down an alleyway and changed out of my ventus armor, and was sneaking through the crowd dressed in the Scrubs that Dr Brooke provided for me.
For attempting to avoid attention in a public area you have created the [Stealth] skill!

For using items to obfuscate your identity you have created the [Disguise] skill!

You are currently disguised as [Westwood Medical Volunteer]

'Huh, convenient.' I thought as a made my way to the gate. Until I was stopped by a particularly large guard.

"Hey you there! You here for the pick up? You got a truck or something to carry everything?" he said looking at me before going to the clipboard in his hand.

"Um, yah i had to park it around the corner, some rubble blocked the street. Um I'm from Woodwest medical. It might be under Dwight, or Draco" I lie, pointing to the logo on my chest.

"Draco?" He looks at me with a hint of amusement.

"It's my last name, and yes I know it's a bit weird" I continue, lying my ass off.

"Well ok then, everything seems to be in order, we can probably lend you a dolly or something" he says something into the radio taped to his chest and a few minutes later the gates open up and another other soldier rolls out a stack of crates. "here you go, just be careful, since you didn't bring a truck or anything we can't be responsible for anything that happens to it."

"Thanks for your concern, I'll try." I tell him as I wheel the crates out of sight.

For successfully bluffing your way through a conversation your CHR has increased by one!

'Well that's good.' I've sorta been treating CHR as a dump stat, probably not a good thing for what I have planned, but if this is anything like fallout, or Skyrim I should be able to substitute it using relevant information, or INT based discussions. It shouldn't matter to much anyways, I think I'll push [Arcane] to 25 then set everything non-physical to 10, after that well uhh, I guess physical training.

I turn into an alley so I can discreetly drop the crates into my inventory however...

Apparently, I REALLY need to up perception. Because for the second time today, I'm blindsided by an enemy.
*CRASH!*

"Ahg!" The golem digs sharp chunks of scrap metal into my back before flaring a scorpion like tail and stabs it in my clavicle.

- 70HP [SNEAK ATTACK CRITICAL]

Quickly, I grab its tail before it can retreat and send a trail of green sparks along it, destabilizing the telekinetic construct.

+5 exp

"Piece of Shit!" I yell at its remains. The next thing I knew, more scrap crabs leap out from under sheets of trash. "It looks like I've stumbled onto an ambush." I say aloud as I pull the chunk of metal out from my shoulder, the Gamer system filling the hole for me. "To bad this isn't much of a threat."

I dash forward and lose a stream of [Arc Lightning], the sparks leaping from my fingers eagerly scything towards the weak golems.

+30 exp!

Once all the medium sized enemy crabs are dealt with (and I look around to make sure I'm not going to be jumped again). I equip my armor and make a [Call].

Calling Dr. Brooke
*Click*

"Hey Draco is everything ok? Did you get the Supplies?"

"Yah I've got the crates right here," I said while placing them in my [Inventory]. "but there's a bit of a problem. Someone's been setting up traps in the Warren, Traps using Telekinetic constructs."

"Wait, wait a second, what? Are you okay?" Karen asked.

I walk up to a brick wall and look for a place that I can spiderman my way up. "Yah I'm fine. I got nicked pretty good but, Superpowers remember. The trap was actually a bunch of these scrap golems about the size of a small dog they're actually pretty easily to break."

"Well if you say so, but… damn that sounds horrible, hell were already going to need a ton of tetanus shots from the debris. Do you think that whoever set that up knew about the supplies?" she says.

"You know, that's exactly what I think. In fact, could you warn the other hospitals about these things. I'm pretty sure that anyone with a gun or even a big enough club could deal with them, but if they manage to sneak up on someone... well these things like to jump for the face and neck." I say whilst I begin to scale up the old apartment complex. "Actually you should say there ambushes and IEDs, people haven't Really HEARD of conduits yet. That should keep people aware of the problem, and they won't dismiss it as fast as someone saying a bunch of magically animated trash monsters are terrorizing The Warrens."

"I don't know maybe, I don't really like the idea of lying like that to my colleagues." she deflects. "How about I just send a video of you levitating some stuff and flinging lightning around, that should pretty much convince anybody."

I blink. And pull myself onto the roof. "You have video of me?"

"Well yeah I mean it's pretty awesome. Wouldn't you do the same? Wait how did you not know? I was taking it right in front of you! You need to pay more attention to your surroundings." She stated in a disbelieving tone.

"Huh, you know that does sound like me." I say. Hell if anything todays really been pointing it out. Ah well that should change soon.

"Dork." She jabs towards me. "Oh wait before you go your little friend woke up a bit earlier. She wants to meet you, especially when I told her you're also a Conduit. So you better get back here safe! And not just because you have our stuff."

"You have my promise that I'll at least try to stay out of trouble." I say. "Oh I'll leave it to you about what you tell the hospitals, just be careful about who you show that video to."

"Well ok then, I'll see you in a bit. Bye!"

"Bye." *click*

A.N.

So sorry this came out a bit late, the charger on my laptop went caput and so did this the original draft of this chapter along with the interlude changes >P. Ah well i could always do that later.

So anyways i've got another problem that hopefully you guys can help with, I need CHARACTER PICS! As you've probably noticed I haven't really given much of a physical description for half of the characters and I'm probably going to keep forgetting in the future so I've decided to use this as an opportunity for community interaction, YAY.

Ideally i would like something for my Upcoming OC so i could use it for the next chapter so here's a hint to help her Power has her Fake super-strength she's a bit aggressive. Although she still has only one arm.

P.S. if you thought the fight in this chapter was a bit to easy, well thats because it was, they literally the easiest enemy in the game, CIVILIANS can take them, it was more to hi-light a hazard and how the city is starting to fall apart.

'I just had end up in this hellhole, Why am I even here? This place? These people? they don't mean anything to me. Hell is there even a way back?

Wait… there might be… through Kessler, in the story it said he possessed time travel. But it's far more likely that he possessed the ability to move between parallel realities, its confirmed there are multiple timelines after all. So if the The Gamer works like I think it does… then... I probobly need to KILL Kessler to go home…

For using deductive reasoning your int has increased by one!

[Quest]

'Well it looks like I may be onto something. But IF I'm going to pull this of I'm going to need power LOTS of power, and that means the Raysphere.' I frown at that thought. 'I'm going to need a bit of help if I want the sphere'

I pull out the unmarked skillbook and swing it open. I spend about a minute Scanning through the powers until I find just what I need.

The Power [CONDUIT I] Has Been Granted!

SPECIALIZATION: [Tepha-PyroKinesis]

I raise my hand to air and
WILL the ash suspended in the air to gather. Swirling up my arm it slowly forms a tight spinning ball. And with with a bit more effort, the ash begins to glow, right before force the colder ash surrounding it into a spear, and throw it into wall.

BOOOOM!

You've created the skill [Explosive spear]

Your [arcane] has increased by two!

"Hrm good, but not quite what I need." agein I focus on the ash around me however this time I try pulling it into me to as if to heal my wounds. As soon as I feel the ash try and enter my body I quickly take that sensation to force it to reverse, tearing my body to ash…

You've created the skill [Ash/Fire absorption 1/50]

You've created the skill [Elemental Form]

… and I fly upon the wind as nothing more than a disjointed wisp of flame and cinders.

*00*00*

All to fast my new found freedom ends and find myself standing at Ground Zero, the center of the blast, and the raysphere is just right there at my feet. 'No I'm not going to trigger it', besides it wouldn't even work right, there's nowhere near enough nural-electricity to feed it. But I know exactly who would love to help me fire this thing off discreetly. Someone who is more than a bit pissed at Kessler.

WARNING

The skill [danger sense] has been created
"OK kid, put the sphere down now, or I'll have to do something both of us would regret" demands a voice right behind me.

I turn around to see the face of John White staring at me from behind the barrel of some kind of magnum. 'Oh, I forgot that it's John who gets the sphere first. Hell he goes through so much to keep this thing from taking anymore lives.'

"Seriously, kid do you even know what that thing is? That the bomb that just blew up the whole city. PUT. IT. DOWN. I saw you fly in as a pile of ash, You probably think that it's related to your fancy new powers, and your right. But trust me no good will come from that abomination." John tries to reason with me he really doesn't seem to want to shoot. And I'm almost tempted to give it to him, however.

"I'm sorry John, but your the last person I'll give the Raysphere to." I tell him "I won't let the Beast get ahold of it."

John is stunned for a second his eyes wide at the implication. And I take my opportunity.

I Drop the sphere into my [inventory] and dissipate into a cloud of ash spinning towards him.

But credit where credit is due, manages to snap out of it and fired his pistol right as I transformed. Unfortunately for him though, I've held the advantage before he even stepped foot into this blasted crater. The air itself is suffused with ash from the falling buildings and charred corpses, the very ground is still burning from the heat of the blast. And his gun, well I've been focused on it since he started talking, and had discreetly filled it with ash, creating a [Sabotage] skill along the way.

As his gun explodes in his hand I slam a partially formed palm into his face, and force burning cinders down his throat whilst igniting the air around us… it didn't take long after that.

I should feel bad, but I don't, not really. I guess I've learned something about myself today I wonder how this happened as I turn to ash and leave one of the thousands of burning corpses on the ground.

So what with this being infamous there is always a darker path that to follow, and just like when playing the game. I feel kinda shity for this, like come on I know your EVIL!Draco but why you gotta be such an ass.

Anyways this is a bonus non-canon chapter partially to explore what other powers could be like, and to flesh out what Hero!Draco missed I hope you enjoyed and it wasn't to angsty for anyone.
