"What?" I quickly sit up and blinking the sleep out my eyes before staring at the fading notification. A quick glance around revels that I'm not in my bed, it seems that I've instead woken up in an alley… that's not something that has ever happened to me before. In fact I'm Decidedly not ok with this, I've never relay had a panic attack before but i think i may be close. But panicking not going to help anyone. After a few Moments of shock I manage to push through calm myself down and pick myself up off of the ground. Okay yah it is what i think it is, The information both simultaneously displays itself in front of me and subconsciously makes itself known to me, and well, it gives a lot of both questions and answers. Like why is my username there? Do covenants imply gods, or maybe religious benefits? I'm also pretty sure that those stats don't properly represent me well, unless The Gamer changed me in some way already… its also its quite a bit warm here for December, AH HELL the Skyline is different too! "Were am I!?"

'After seeing the wall of text, I look down at myself incredulously. apparently even with 7 Perception I can miss the most obvious things, like the fact that I'm wearing my edgiest clothing. Although it seems that theirs a hidden gem hiding in my pocket, a freaking manual, although I cant relay just stand around in an ally that'll be asking for for trouble. I could probably find a bench in a park or a coffee-shop if this city is anything like Chicago.'

*00*00*

Your [INT] has increased by 2!

'It had taken me somewhere around an hour to find the little park I was sitting in and another to read the manual… It was all a very dry but informative read, filled with numbers that meant SOMETHING but don't give much in the way of context. It mostly seamed to follow what I thought of as The Gamer with a few different were some rules about the functions of the inventory1, and the stats INT2, ARCANE3, PER4. There was also scaling on weapons and items from E to S similar to the system Dark Souls had Rather than damage values being conferred only weapon. Oh, and that integrate button was to connect my phone to The Gamer interface and any music files could be downloaded for the background music, so was able to access the gamer menu on my phone and vice versa, it also downloaded my music for background music. The whole thing was very useful… or well, it would be useful if I could get any service…' It actually seamed as though some of the information was obscured until I encountered a trigger. For instance the manual said nothing about Stats improving through use until AFTER my INT increased for the first time, The words literally formed as I was reading it. I don't think I'll get anymore use out this, although it be good to read it later.

'That being said, it's way past time to get up and find out where I am. It is starting to get dark and I still have no idea where I am, hell I should probably just ask someone. There is a building in the background that I think is the Empire State building so, I might be in New York. I'm not sure though, the quest is still active so I might be in another world or time. Maybe I'm in Jojo, I could probably get help if I can find the Speedwagon Foundation. I'll just be all like hey look at this supernatural weirdness, and pull my wallet out of my inventory/thin-air and then they'll be all like "oh wow this guy is serious, and at least it's not more of those damn vampires or STAND-wielding dogs."

Very soon after that train of thought my hopes of getting a stand blew up as if Killer Queen Took personal offense at the idea.

I wait with bated breath until I see my HP tick up by one and let out a long sigh of relief. So good, since I'm not gonna die from tripping over any debris I should probably get out of here, but… if I'm right and The Gamer is accurate, that was the Ray Sphere and if the story plays true some really horrible people are going to try and salvage the device and try to cause… well…' I look around at what used to be a park and crowded streets, it was sobering, the game gave a hint of the shear devastation but the real thing was no comparison,

'could I live with myself if I let this happen again? Hell, the game uses a damn karma system, its canon that Cole becomes a hero but there is no proof that that'll happen here. And then there may be any other survivors that weren't shown in game, after all this city is not confined to the limitations of an early PS3 game'…I reach into my pocket and pull out a red vial out of my inventory."

That's a lot of question-marks, in fact the system specifically omits whether or not the reputation is positive or genitive. For all I know it may be every villainous faction in the city....

"AH hell I guess Im going to Something stupid... "

'[Yes],[Yes]'

And with that I started to climb over the rubble.

AN:

1Time is frozen inside of the inventory, living organisms can be stored inside the inventory however they receive brain and nervous system damage relative to the organism's complexity and sapience outside of few exceptions, some AIs can also receive damage depending on what state of consciousness at which they entered the Inventory, any integrated Communications device is exempt from these rules

2 Arcane relating to esoteric power either Psionic, Magic, Dimensional or others, converting [MP] into whatever the user needs. MP amount is governed by this stat.

3 Intelligence correlates to the ability to gather and use information, along with providing bonuses to crafting, mathematics, physics, and technical skills; Skill also correlates to the creation of more complex magic skills, items, runes, and rituals where [MP] comes from a secondary source.

4 Perception relates to perceptive abilities, also affects any extrasensory and data gathering abilities developed. Affects accuracy and long-range attacks such as bows, guns, and distance ability.

Well, here it is, my first attempt at posting anything creative. I'm not gonna lie this Fic is most likely going to have sporadic updates, I've been trying to write some thing for a little while now and I've found that i have a habit of writing the first few chapters then writing the start to something else, so I'm posting this and hoping that lights a fire under me. I'm also posting this as I've noticed a distinct lack of infamous content which is a shame as its one of my favorite game series and i feel it has some room that a good author can expand upon.

So with that out of the way i hope I've sparked some interest, and if you have any advice or fun ideas Feel free share! I do have some idea of what I want to happen but the story is pretty open ended at this point.

Chapter 2: Running Around in Circles

'I should probably have planned this out a bit more. It's not that I ran into trouble, the problem is that I've actually got no idea what the hell I'm doing. I just thought I needed to go to the center of the blast but turns out; trying to find your way through a bombed-out neighborhood is a bit more complicated than going down to the local pharmacy. Hell, on top of that it's going to be near impossible to find anybody if they've gotten buried under anything, its not like I've got some way to tell if… oh wait.' The only skill I have, observe is specifically an information skill.

I don't quite face-palm, but it's a near thing. With that said I look the closest pile of rubble and "[OBSERVE]"

Rubble

A pile of rubble. Probably created during the blast. Won't be cleaned up for a long time. Absolutely nothing important about in this pile.

Don't you have better things to do than look at a pile of rocks?

'… ok I'm going to just assume that sass right there is a canned response, rather than that my powers think this is a good time to mess with me. Especially considering looking at rocks may actually be one of the best things I could possibly be doing right now, or at least trying to find out if people may be in there. Although maybe I could out more if I… [OBSERVE]'

[OBSERVE 2/99]

Ruins of Thompson's grill

Thompson's grill; an iconic grease trap opened in 1946, now it nothing but ruins in the south-east of Ground Zero.

Completely collapsed, there's no way anyone survived.

'Ah PERFECT, well not that last part, but now I have a location and I just have to look at the buildings in the distance and [OBSERVE].'

Station building

The tallest building in empire city, smashed and battered by the Blast, yet somehow still stubbornly standing just north of Ground zero.

'Heh, looks like North-West is that way.' I feel My face start to turn to a slight grin. 'How the hell could I forget? I'm a god-damn Gamer, I have all the tools I need, I just need to ABUSE THEM. Lest start by SPAMMING Observe.'

Your INT has increased by ONE!

I start moving faster down to Ground Zero spamming observe at everything I can see. That building over there [OBSERVE], that car [OBSERVE], that bus [OBSERVE], Those rocks over there [OBSERVE]! Pretty soon I start to catch my stride I'm quickly dashing through the remains of the street while Observing as much as I can. Its actually a bit surprising, I've never had much stamina, yet I'm maintaining quite a bit of speed while climbing over toppled over buildings. While I'm not moving particularly fast, it's not long before I eventually reach Ground Zero. And honestly the sight caused me to stop, eyes widening in surprise.

Through continuous movement over dangerous terrain your DEX increased by one!

It may have taken me a seconded or two to move past the whole 'Holy shit the ground is still on fire!' thing, in my defense though I've ever seen anything like this before. Thankfully I'm staring to get over the shock of the whole untold amounts of devastation thing. There also SOMEHOW seems to be a relatively cooled path corkscrewing around the blast epicenter. 'Shit it looks like Cole already left, is the damn sphere even still there?

I would like to say I managed to get down there without much trouble, but that is a lie. I managed to climb my way over a still standing fence without problem but the path honestly becomes pretty bullshit after that. The next thing I had to do was jump on top of a bus, and well I did land on it, I just landed with my face.

-5 HP

It didn't get much better after that, the bus apparently didn't take to me climbing it vary well and then and stared to tip over the ledge. Scrambling not to fall off I barely manage to grip onto the ledge right as the bus tips over onto its side, thankfully it doesn't quite land into the fire but… just ow.

Your DEX increased by one!

[Damage resistance: Falling 1/99]

"Great" I groaned out, puling myself back on top of the bus…

"ahh"

Looks like I'm not the only one who age… 'WAIT DID THAT COME FROM THE BUS!?!' [OBSERVE]

Bus # 21300

A bus mostly destroyed by The Blast and was used as a way to climb in and out of ground zero until a careless individual managed to tip it over. There are some faint noises coming from the inside

'Oh hell! It did' "Hey can you hear me in there? I'm gonna try and get you out!" panicking I clamber my way over the emergency exit and drop down into the destroyed bus and oh boy was I not prepared for what was inside. You see outside there was a lot of destruction and fire and danger; however, when it comes to fatalities, there tends to be a distinct lack of bodies, The Blast happens to vaporize them. Apparently though, it seems that inside of buildings and some vehicles there is some degree of shielding. About just enough to leave several charred corpses and keep the distinctive piles of ash from blowing away.

But that's not what is important right now, quickly suppressing my reaction I make my way to the front of the bus where a girl is laying face-down covered in blood and missing an arm. 'This is obviously not good; can this potion even heal that much… ok no, don't pay much attention to that, I should probably fix what I can first then figure out what's healing and what's not.'

'So, let's see Tourniquet around the stump… ok shit I guess I'll use the sleeve that's not really goanna get much use anymore, and is there a stick or piece of metal to tie it to I think? … ok there's a lot of bruising or is that a sign of internal bleeding? I've got to hope the potion clears that up. She probably has a head injury cause she's unconscious… another thing for the potion. Ok bandage ok wounds done." Well I for I try my best to patch her up, but the last time I learned first aid was 6 years ago and I've never really had any opportunity to use it since. The only thing left to try is the potion, I pull out the vail out of my [INVENTORY] and place to her neck aiming it at her artery and press the button on the end.

+ 75 HP

Skill [FIRST AID 1/25] Gained!

Due to skill synergy [OBSERVE] can now Give Medical Information (dependent on PER and Medical related skills).

'Oh my god did it work? The thing just spurted in so fast I was worried that her veins would explode like in that video about how stim-packs wouldn't work1. I guess its Fucking magic or whatever. Huh I could probably use [OBSERVE].

not a problem, not sure if i got it all. well i looked up both gunna and gonna, they basically mean the same thing. but used differently, like this
"she was gunna stay there all night if she had to" "so what you gonna do now?"

honestly it may actually be a colloquial thing, I've heard it both ways but I mostly only see Gonna.

right for this sentence, Especially considering looking at rock may actually be one of the best things i could possibly be doing right now, or at least trying to find out if people may be in there. just take out the Is from that sentence

Vial not vail

had to read through again to see if i got them all

Chapter 3: And the gears begin to turn.

'Today was very tiring.' I quickly flipped a quarter through my fingers before passing it over my thumb and flipping it up into the air. I try to catch it by passing it over the back my fingers…. and I fumble the coin, it bounces off the back of my hand and I try reaching for it with my other hand only to push it further. It hits the ground once… twice… 'aaand it's under the couch, great.'

-0.25$

'I don't think this 'DEX training' is working very well if at all.' I thought to myself as Dwight walked in.

Now Dwight was one of the first responders helping patch people up after the blast. When I passed of that girl (Whose name I later found out was Clair Bright) I took a chance and pulled out the Health Vials in front of his face. After about 10 seconds of staring he apparently decided, fuck it, and used them worst cases before taking us to a discrete clinic. And if they weren't going to keep quiet before, well they quickly changed their minds after I burned that [Heal Aid] book. Now [Heal Aid] isn't some sort of Panacea, in fact it's really only for relatively low injuries, it only heals physical damage, and has a lot of limitations. Thankfully those are all soft limitations rather than hard limits.

Everyone involved quickly worked out that we could use it to keep people alive during rather dangerous surgeries, and the fact that [Heal Aid] didn't leave much in the way of scar tissue while working as more of a regenerative effect pretty much made it pretty much eliminate recovery time. Due to the fact that people were being healed in hours, and in a few cases less than a 30 min, the risk of infection dropped severely while saving beds for the more critically injured. While it wouldn't take long for the news of a "miracle healer" to spread around the city, what I do have is a few days to test out my skills and a temporary place to stay. In fact, helping out even gave me an easy quest. Through which I leveled again, increased my INT and ARCANE to 8, upped my CHR by one, and gave skill ups to [Heal aid] [First Aid] and [Observe].

Dwight sulked his way past me, dropping a pile of old books pamphlets and magazines onto the coffee table before plopping himself into the couch. He reaches for the remote to the staff TV, he clicks it on only to get nothing but static.

"Networks are down cause of the EMP" I said absentmindedly.

He looks at me, then at the TV like it just kicked his puppy, before sighing. "Ah come on this sucks, can't even relax properly" he gives me a sidelong glance "you gonna eat those books I dug up for ya or what?"

I lean over to see what I've got…

A Beginners guide to Meditation and Spirituality [10 ARCANE 10 INT]

The Human Body: Anatomy and Physiology [14 INT]

Organic Chemistry [18 INT]

A History Metallurgy, Smithing, and Warfare [10 INT]

Nutrition: Clean and Healthy living!

Rules of the road: Driving safely and legally

First Aid and Emergency Care [+5 to First Aid]

Meeting People and Making Friends [+10 speech for 1h]

Not a bad haul, I'm almost tempted to spend some points. Tossing the currently unusable skill books into my inventory, I begin to absentmindedly Flip through what I can use. As I do so the pages begin to softly glow before they catch with a golden fire. I pay it no heed turning the pages faster and FASTER until it leaves nothing but a slowly dissipating golden ash swirling around as I do the same for the next 2. 5 minutes later, and perhaps a bit more fanfare than necessary, I have some new minor skills.

You've learned the skills:

[Nutrition 10/99]

+2 to HP and MP gained from healthy food and drink per level

[Driving: Basic 5/25]

Ho to drive a variety of vehicles; currently limited to street-legal civilian vehicles.

[First Aid is now 15/25]

"Oh pretty, do it again." Dwight responds, the light having grabbed his attention.

"I would but the others have Stat requirements." I said "Even though I already know how to meditate and took anatomy, I feel like I should be able use these books just cause of that."

"Apparently your own power disagrees, considering its pretty much bending reality over I'd listen to it if I was you." Dwight snarks with an arched eyebrow. "So, you've really got nothing else cool you could do?"

"Not really, I mean I could spend some points and I do have a random skill book, but I kinda want to save them until later as I can up stats by using them."

"What? That's stupid." Dwight responds before seeing the look of confusion on my face. "Here, let me tell you why. First, this city just got bombed or hit by a pissed off Zeus or whatever, right? So that means between the looting, the gangs, trying to move through the rubble, and the city generally going to shit before the military and police can restore order, you're not going to have TIME to try and work through the early stats efficiently.

Second, there's nothing stopping you from upping those skills through training later, except that you'll need to go through more effort and you're probably going to end up training later anyway, so by not using them all you'll end up doing pushing off the harder training until later.

And lastly, if learning opportunities are going to be barred by your stats, you should try get an even spread of starting points as soon as possible so you can learn the most you can, as fast as you can. I would probably actually agree with your plan if it wasn't for the whole city in ruins thing, especially with you being able to heal people."

Huh, maybe he's right. In most other gamer fics I read most people do end up saving there points till they need them, but they almost always have at least SOME time to train, I don't. This city gets bad FAST with plagues, riots, thefts, murder and more. 'Ah fuck It I'll deal with it later if this is a bad idea. [STATUS]'

oh and yes i chose to use Electro-MagnetoKinesis like Cole uses, it's simply my favorite power in the series, and I have a pretty good idea of a lot ways i can progress it.

Also yes my lighting is green instead of blue or red, but my defense green lightning does actually exist and the same effect that causes blue or red lightning can cause Green lighting *THE MORE YOU KNOW!*

Are you going to use coins to rip off Railgun? I mean since it it's a normal item and the only supernatural thing about it is the acceleration it's not as easy to guard against by using a conflicting power, not to mention of you use your magnetokinesis to make a highly condensed coin you can add more mass and power to it.

Railgun's powerset is pretty fucking nifty and useful. It could do railguns (obviously), levitation (yes it can), dissipate smoke fields (watch Aldnoah for more), a field of electric-enhanced field to do whatever the fuck and oh so many others.

Oh trust me I've electrokinesis sorted, it helps that Conduits can also be even more bullshit then espers and can develop powers distinct from there elemental abilitys. For example Cole also has superstrenth, and BEFORE the raysphere, he was once run over by a truck and walked out of the hospital the next day. Then there's the fact that a lot of conduits can also develop aditional cognitive powers. Its part of the reason why the girl from the bus's starting stats were higher than usual.

Amazing story, really like the SI a choices so far. Hope you have to purchase the illusory powers with points to do a illusory dungeon and if it becomes the zombie one left for dead is a perfect zombie dungeon including illusory guns, and a mental ability to control a special zombie. Though it is a hazard for all taken into it at higher levels I do not see why a gamer couldn't make a mana ability dungeon master turning all illusory constructs into minions.

Remember you can purify water with your new lightning powers, and the inventory is a great tool to mix with it, magnetic propulsion of inventory items, like cans, coins, bullets, and nails. Hmm if you stod in a puddle could you inventory the water or would it need to be in a container.

AH thanks I'm glad your liking it so far.

Unfortunately ID's arnt going to be appering in this fic, At least not in the same way that they do in the original gamer, as there isent a Gaia to help maintain the instant dimension. I do have an ability lined up that looks a bit like it planed way down the road though

Remember you can purify water with your new lightning powers

Note to self: remember to tell Cole he can de-ionize water so The Man can take a proper shower.

Chapter 4: Playing with the new toys

[Magnetic levitation (basic) 4/20]

While we were walking up the stairs I had pulled out a roll of quarters from my inventory and managed to get them each into their own orbit around my head like my own private solar system. 'It's actually pretty hard each orbit requires a slightly different field, and keeping them all spinning around me requires quite a bit of multi-tasking. Oh and I'm pretty much guessing how to keep each field as I can only perceive them when I generate them, after that I get a vague sense of how my power can interacts with what I've generated… wait could I see them if I pumped Perception? Ah shit, well there goes that as a dump stat.' I thought to myself as I followed Dwight.

When we got to the the roof we found Dr. Karen Brooke, a tall six-foot two woman with long and straight red hair in her somewhere in her late 20's to early 30's. She was sitting down and looking over several folders. Her Eyes glanced to my crown of floating quarters. She gave me a strained look as if trying to find a way to ask me to stop pulling out new bullshit in front of her, she then put a cigarette up to her lips and took in a deep breath. "So… now you also have telekinesis?" she exasperatedly let out while leveling me a tired glare.

"Actually its…*heh*... technically [Electro-Magnetokinesis] *heh heh*." I said a with a touch of nervousness. She somehow looks even more un-impressed, Dr. Brooke is actually the smartest person I've observed so far with an impressive 24 INT, and I don't really think she likes not knowing things. 'I don't know it may as well be using magic for as much as I know.' probably was the best way to answer about how [Heal Aid] worked even if it's technically true.

"That's... EVEN WORSE! WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THE DAMN ENERGY TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY!?" She lets out an exasperated sigh before calming down. "Sorry, I don't mean to get so pissed, it's just that I want an answer that isn't 'Possibly Magic', or 'maybe psychic bullshit energy'." she says making quotation marks with her fingers. "It probably didn't help that that unconscious, one-armed, currently anemic girl you two brought in tore off her beds guardrail in her sleep."

*Whoeuw* Dwight whistles "That's pretty impressive, she's like what Five -three at most? Hey Draco, you ain't gonna suddenly pull out some Super-strength on top of all of lightning, 'magic' healing, and book eating are ya?" He said elbowing me in the side causing me to drop my coins.

-$1.00

"Hrm? EH? No, why bother, I can just fake it with strong enough magnetokinesis. Oh wait, you're joking, sorry I missed that." I said absently while picking up my coins and putting them back in my pocket/[inventory]. +$1.00

Ah look! there's a vending machine in the corner, it looks like the EMP fried it. I wonder if i can give it a bit a jump start. I head over towards the machine. As soon as I face it, I turn around around and deliver a spinning kick burying my left heel into its side whilst simultaneously firing off a small electrically charged EM field into it.

You've created the skill [Force 1/10]
(Emit a Concussive Wave of Electromagnetism That Knocks Back Enemies and Objects, Basic Blasts Deal No Damage Themselves)

You've created the skill [Shock Strike 1/15]
(Augment Your Physical Strikes With Your Lightning. Adds +10 damage to your physical attacks)
You've created the skill [Blast Strike 1/10]
(Fire a [Shock-wave] after your physical strikes, 50% less Knock-back than a standard blast)
The vending machine tilts, sputters, and flashes, a part of me thinks it's going to break. Then as quickly as it began it rights itself, and vomits its out what is probably a good third of its contents. 'OH, WOW! I wasn't expecting that to actually work much less getting skills out of it! Hell that really shoulda just broken the lock open or something… ok, play it cool, don't act surprised.'

Looking over my shoulder I point my thumb to the machine, keeping my face as neutral as possible "Hey, do either of you want a drink?" 'yes perfect! WITNESS ME!'

"Sure, *sigh* why not." Dr. Brooke says walking over to pick up a can. *click PSHHH* "Look are you sure that you don't know anything about why you have powers?"

"Umm…" 'ok, how to say this without mentioning that I know this because I played a video game that featured your world… oh I got it!' "Well the weird information gathering bit of my power kept referencing a 'Conduit Gene' and whether it was activated or not. From what I could tell there also seems to be a Specialty, or perhaps it's more like a concept, that dictates how someone's power will manifest. Although I don't know if its random, genetics, dependent or their mental state or what. So far the only other people I saw that had it activated where that girl, and a man that managed to run into the Neon before the bridge collapsed. But I'd bet my savings that they aren't the only ones that'll be waking up with superpowers soon, and not everyone will be as helpful as I've been."

"Really?" Dwight pipes in.

I nod

"Reeeally." the Doctor asks.

"Yes, Really." Once again, I reaffirm.

"It's just, I'm pretty Genetics just don't work that way." says Dwight.

"Yah me too, but I'm not going to argue with my cheaty reality bending power anymore." I toss back at him.

"Ouch my own words, that's low man." anguished Dwight.

"SOOO," I say while clapping my hands together in an attempt to change the topic. "Are we going to try and science the shit out of my new power or what? Either of you two got got any ideas?"

I grab some of the cans with my [Magnetic Levitation] and… 'What the fuck? Dr. Crush, Mr. Mister, Bullfrog Root-beer… just, what the fuck... OK fine, different world, different brands, whatever.' I pop open the Dr. Crush and take a sip while Dwight plucks the can of Bullfrog from the air. 'Huh, Dr. Crush is like a Peach Coke, it's surprisingly good. A bit flat, though that's to be expected'.

And with that we began brainstorming, and oh boy did we come up with some cool stuff.

You've created the skill [ThermoMagnetic Crafting]
Use Magnetic Induction to Heat and Mold Objects into a desired form

You've created the skill [Magnetize]
Magnetize yourself to the metal in a wall, ceiling, or floor to assist in travel

You've created the skill [Emit Force 1/10]
Emit a Sphere of Electromagnetic Force That Releases a Concussive Wave upon impact (no damage)

You've created the skill [Scatter Blast 1/10]
Throw Variable Ammunition Into The Air Before Casting Force, Launching Them Like a Shotgun (deals damage dependent on each pellet)

You've created the skill [Molten Shot 1/30]
Melt a Chunk of Metal Before Firing it (charge time 4s 8s 10s)
(Damage 25/50/90)

You've created the skill [Arc Lightning 1/25]
Releases a Continuous Stream of Lightning, Short Range (10 damage per second).

You've created the skill [Magnetic Launcher 1/20]
Fire a Stream of Variable Ammunition Using a Low-Powered Railgun (Variable damage)

You've created the skill [Flash and Bang]
Electromagnetically Excite Aluminum to Produce high levels of Light and Noise

You've created the skill [Iron Sand: Whip-blade 1/99]
Manipulate Iron sand to create a cutting edge

You've created the skill [Iron Sand: Shackle]
Magnetize Iron Sand Around an Enemy's Limbs to attempt to subdue them

Skill [Magnetic levitation (basic) 10/20] has increased!

I like how you think, if i didn't have an [Inventory] I would totally be doing that (except instead of a gourd, it would be a steel container so i could toss it around and carry it easier). As it is I Have a bit different of an idea for armor.

Fair enough. Could always be a gourd... shaped of metal!!!

lol

Yeah, the inventory certainly helps with making sure you always have metal around. Quick question, can the MC grind his base parameters/stats through training/hard work? If I've missed you mentioning this, I apologize.

Yep, its just that inFamous 1 gets very bad VERY fast, because of this the safest option is to use the points gained from leveling and to train later. Even though as a result it would take more training in the long term.

so how are you gonna do this. your gonna have to make new OC conduits if you want some fights
Eventually there will be OC conduits although alot of the not all them will be enemys or necessarily interested in getting involved in combat. In when I do introduce characters one of my goals to flesh them out as people good or bad. Also there are PLENTY fights that I could have without OCs

Edit:
Oh and next chapters going to be a bit late
