Just cheking but did Louise just used the undead method or the primeval lord method ? I hope is the later due to diminishing returns.

[X] Have the girl explain exactly what she had been doing while you were away. Thoughts, feelings, and action. Attempt to reproduce the effect.

Undead method. Primeval lord method requires a cohesive 'clump' of souls... Boss souls, lord souls, soul of a weary traveler type stuff, etc. Undead method would require breaking any of those into the base souls that make them.

Also, you guys do know that going the way you came means back to blight town, yes?

She doesn't. Where did I say she does? Its not in the post nor her attributes on the character sheet.

Though both her and cynric can get it by killing things that feed on humans, the same reason you can get it from giant rats in game.

Ah buts she's a elder scroll human so she's similar enough. Also opposite question why wouldn't she have humanity?

Sorry got humanity confused with faith.

also @ChildishChimera.

"Humanity" refers to the piece of the dark soul that every human being (or undead or unkindled) has in the dark souls universe.

The dark originally granted humans immortality, and power over the abyss, until the gods cursed them... causing the abyss to rampage out of control and humans to become mortal and pretty.

Undeath is the curse on humanity breaking and them returning to their original immortal state, but fucked up by the curse trying to eat the undeads humanity to fuel itself which causes the loss of memory and and insanity in the weak willed and purposeless..

I though that meant going back to the tower with fire lady?

Like... The entire time in Dark Souls where Cynric was levitating over muck, there were spiderflies, and Quelaag was right nearby, and Cynric met Quelana and saw the thorn armor guy and such?
I may not have plated dark souls but not only have people in this very thread mentioned this swamp was below blight town, but if we were already there why is it even called a town?

Blight town is the settlement of outcasts or refugees that sprung up in the swamp beneath the undead burg. The sewage runoff and possibly a heretical pyromancer caused disease to run rampant, mutating many inhabitants into cragspiders and toxic cannibals who occupy the remnants of the shanty town's structures.
I though that meant going back to the tower with fire lady?
the swamp is between the current bonfire and Quelana's home.

The most useful item we could farm here would be Humanity. We don't plan on dying so having a high ("soft") humanity stat will be a permanent boost to our defenses. We need to survive long enough to craft and consume Cure Poison or Cure Disease potions so upping unusual defenses is rather important.

Embarrassing Stories
Taking a gulp of much needed water, you roll your eyes at her pathetic attempt to appear mature and controlled after having just finished impulsively frolicking around the room like a hyperactive preteen. "Riiight." Your dry response causes her blush to deepen and she looks away. "Anyway, whether or not you intended this outcome, it is obvious that you did something."

The girl moves to protest, but you shut her down with a stern look. "Quiet. I need you to explain exactly what you did while I was away." "I already said I didn't-" "Not simply actions! Thought and feeling can have an important impact on the nonphysical aspects of the world around you, what was occupying your mind?"

Shuffling uncomfortably, Louise turns fully away from you and sits by the fire. You wait patiently for several minutes, but she doesn't seem to be willing to talk. Sighing, you sit beside her and nudge her with your elbow, causing her to bury her head between her knees. "Did we not have a talk about this a short time ago?" You ask.

The girl's voice struggles to reach your ears, muffled by her position. "Yes... b-but I... It's stupid."

"Is this about your ceaseless complaints regarding your appearance? Because I am fully aware of your dissatisfaction." Whimpering, she seems to draw in on herself even more. Resting your hand on her head, you continue. "Slow development is nothing to be ashamed of, Louise. Just imagine the looks on your rivals faces when those your age are beginning to lose their good looks and you remain young and healthy for another decade or more."

Your words draw a chuckle from the girl. "That's not how it works... is it?"

"Sometimes." You say. "Besides, I know of several forms of immortality that can be attained with magic... changing appearances is child's play if we spend the time on it."

Lifting her head to smile at you, she finally answers your question. "Okay... Okay, I was... While I was waiting for you, I was watching the fire." nodding, you motion for her to continue. "W-well the fire reminded me of that Germanian trollop from the academy. Always degrading me over my magic, flaunting those overgrown mounds of fat on her chest... She was even convinced I was a boy that liked to wear women's clothes once.. She... she tried to seduce me! She came to my room one night in a transparent nightgown and tried to... to... 'Where's your... Oh.' was what she said, not caring that the door was open or that the other students could be watching. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that is? I-I... I'm just so tired of this childish figure... and while I was warming my hands... I guess I accidentally did that thing Quelana was talking about." Though flushed and teary eyed, you're pleased to note that the girl didn't start crying again.

"We could kill them all if you'd like." You offer mildly, not really concerned as you focus on reproducing the child's actions. Reaching your hand toward the flames, you are sure that the unconscious desire of the girl isn't the most efficient way to do this. Focusing on your body, you know that it won't be long before your age begins to catch up with you, maybe a few years at most. Your active lifestyle can only do so much and soon your flexibility will rapidly deteriorate and you'll be more susceptible to injury.

Your apprentice looks to be annoyed by your proposal. "That would be treason. Not only would we be likely to start a war if we killed the foreign students, but many of my... peers... are Tristainian nobles of moderately high standing."

"Surely we could orchestrate events to appear as though we were not involved." You counter, feeling an odd sense of warmth fill you as the weight of your accumulated souls dissipates. You don't feel any larger and your clothes don't seem to fit any worse than before, but looking at Louise shows her clothing seems to have grown with her somehow. You're ripped from your thoughts as the fire grows stronger momentarily and you observe as the surge resonates with all other bonfires before being pulled to a larger flame beneath the world's surface. Ignoring that for now, you gather your things and dust yourself off. "We could also try to make it appear as though we were putting down a revolt."

Shaking her head in exasperation, Louise follows you lead as you head back down the stairs. "How about we not slaughter my classmates for being immature children?" Your derisive snort is ignored as she looks around in confusion. "Why are we going back down? I thought we were heading to the surface."

Tossing the meat to Louise, you reply, "Freeze that for later. We are heading back to the tower to see if Quelana has recovered from her... episode."

"Do you think she's alright?" The girl asks after freezing the meat.

"Surely a being with as much experience as she claims to possess can deal with a few bad memories. I guess we shall see when we arrive."

The trip is uneventful, though you do find the girl's zombie pinned beneath a large boulder for some reason... most likely by one of the dead bipeds that surround it. Freeing the corpse without magic would be impossible and you aren't willing to waste the magic, so the two of you continue on for now with the intent to return later. The tower's owner is locked in her room when you return, so the two of you make yourselves comfortable in the main chamber.

Ah, Cynric, ever a kind and compassionate soul, quick to comfort a child by indiscriminately slaughtering their former companions. Never change.

Wait, did we eat the dragon shashlik or not? I mean, it was just squirming a bit, nothing serious. If we close our eyes we could pretend it's an oyster!

Both because she needs to free her minion and because we realy should handle those backfires before delin into mind magic.

Illusion, specifically Fury, would be very good for killing someone by having someone else do it.

Unless given an example from TES lore, I'm going to veto storage scrolls until you either steal them from naruto of put in the months of research... Possibly months of it.

I also am incapable of poetry, a big contributing factor in my last story going more shub-niggurath than gravemind.

That makes it an even better idea! ;)

That's fair... but it also means it's possible. :)

Oh definitely. TES magic has created pocket realms before, though there is a peculiar wooden box in Dark Souls that might pique your interest. Storing 'souls' would be slightly more complicated, but I'm confident you guys can figure out how to make large soul clumps if you try... Storing actual souls, as in the standard definition of soul, is more complicated and risky process without a soul gem.

You mean the genderswap coffin don't you?

I was thinking a inventory space the protagonists and people around might have.
Yes and that's what I was talking about.

I don't recall that being a thing...

Edit: that coffin is in Things Betwixt and has no lore explanation or mention. Drangleic won't even exist for a long time, so good luck finding a random coffin by a river and hoping its the right one.
