I feel bad for how the occupation game went, both on my end and what was experienced with TenShields (and Cybandeath too, I suppose). My course load is better nowadays, and I've still kept an open-notes outline for some drafting as ideas come every now and then.
I've never really done a grand strategy RP, despite interest, if only b/c I'm not a history major (unlike what appears to be a LARGE chunk of SV's membership), and what alt-history versions I've perused aren't *that* far removed from the OTL (seriously, *nothing* based on Gibson's "The Difference Engine"??? For shaaaaaaaame~ )?
Maybe a sci-fi one could be different, but it'd depend on the setting's particulars, perhaps. A lower-scale fleet RP like Conquer the Stars, and its prior ilk, would probably be manageable, though.
One thing I'm a bit awkward about, though, is how..."traditional" the space opera projects here have appeared.
