There are a lot of progressives, particularly those of a more technocratic bent, who hear "eugenics is wrong" and understand that as "eugenics is factually incorrect" rather than "eugenics is bad." Which inevitably leads into them saying that their renamed version of eugenics will be good because they simply won't believe in the untrue, bad stuff.
