• Is he, in an unforseen twist, going to end up In Danmachi?

God's wander the realm there, will he wander the Dungeon?
    M
    Mister Ficser
I'm sorry I missed this a while back! Things have been hectic at work and it's not stopping-
He would irritate and annoy the gods so much it'd be hilarious. Although I think there'd be rumors of him being a deep dungeon monster for a while...
That latest snippet on Caer made me feel that Al is a complete moron.
    M
    Mister Ficser
...Ah. Was it the ending or him playing up the magic?
    llat-2
    llat-2
The part where he thinks that nobody would suspect that he was Flamel.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Fair enough. I'd been debating shifting it to him admitting how much fun he's having teaching magic and magical theory, anyway.
I would say that the Playstation version of Dragon Quest 7 is better than the Nintendo 3ds version. The 3DS version just lacks a certain feature the PSone version had.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Fully agreed. Mastering jobs was done for the sake of carrying things over. DQ7 3D just encouraged me to make everyone a godhand so I could spam powerful attacks and have moderate healing.
What was going to happen next in the Alec Mist in Night City side story?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Likely towards the end, once the kid starts to realize there's something kinda screwy going on. Starting off, Alec would be keeping his other capabilities reasonably quiet.
    llat-2
    llat-2
Does Alec have any reputation among the various players of that world? If so how do they regard him?

Edit: or Has he managed to be good at what he does while avoiding attracting any attention for it?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Mostly positive. Gets the job done, doesn't mess around. Doesn't draw dicks on everything like that borg, Maine. Wakako will hire him but doesn't personally like him because he didn't consult her before offing Fingers, the ripperdoc for the Joytoys in Clouds that would sell them to Scavs.
I remember Valefar's line when you beat him with no money. He said 'What? You're flat broke?' and it had me laughing. Did you decide to give him a special line for how much money he stole from Alchemist or no?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Ooh, that's an idea! Some kind of compliment and backhanded thanks would certainly fit the aesthetic...
Please have Alchemist go to Bloodstained-verse. I want Alchemist to max all those shards.
    M
    Mister Ficser
I am thinking about it. More for Kid Flash so he could get a stop-gap for his powers. Giving him an upgraded Acceleration shard would be... Well, I'd be laughing.
Alchemist in Stardew Valley would be a nice vacation for him. Would anyone be going with him and how would his interactions with the Stardew Valley cast look?
    M
    Mister Ficser
And that'd be the real trick. Stardew Valley is pretty laid back, making stories with it a bit difficult.

I gotta say that I am glad we don't have to see Alchemist in that YJ Psychic training disaster. He deserves better than the stress and bad effects to his relationships that would come from them seeing how he would act in that scenario.
    M
    Mister Ficser
The Psychic Training disaster was made to be traumatic. Hitting Alchemist's growing list of berserk buttons would be bad... But that would involve slamming all of them and punching the nuke button. Super bad. For everyone.
You have made one of the greatest gamer fics of all time thank you and hope you feel proud about this masterpiece you are forging.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Thank you! I'm still working on it, but things are going a lot slower for me at the moment. I'm hoping I'll be done with this current arc I'm on by the time I finish recovering.
Why is Batman calling to have Alchemist go to Metropolis? I thought Alchemist was going to be the supporter.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Injured civilians. That part is Alchemist's job.
Same reason he showed up after Klarion wrecked Salem.

There's a bit more of the chapter to go. Remember, the plant? Batman was already aware of what Ivy was doing ;) Courtesy of Player One and the Zombie I.D.
Okay I saw the Caer bit today, are you planning on having Black Canary confront Tracy under the assumption that he was the one who pushed to have them do the FF7 quest? Or will she not have that misunderstanding?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Jinx told her that it was her idea, and I'm not planning to have BC act Ozzypants stupid.

I'm thinking I might have her play the game herself and then try to sit down and ask Alchemist some serious questions.
    llat-2
    llat-2
Will BC try to be more diplomatic or will she have Tracy wanting to make her into a stone frog again? A bigger part of me is interested in what she would think about the plot of FF7. I still remember crying when Sephiroth killed Aerith the first time I played that game.
    M
    Mister Ficser
    Possibly a bit more diplomatic.

BC needs something to do other than just be constantly overwhelmed. If she ends up being a (Normal) gamer, Alchemist will consider his work done, and done well.

Then he'll give her a copy of Skyrim. From release day. With no patches.
Did Black Canary feel like she wasted time with that Skyrim visit? Does she feel she should not have tried pushing Al until he snapped at her or does she just blame him for it despite being a bitch at the worst possible time? Will Al eventually ask her whether she is trying to make heroes or mentally healthy and sane people?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Very good questions! At the very least, she did learn more about how Alchemist thinks and operates as well as learning Cure and the cantrip of Prestidigitation.
Certainly not a wasted trip, but it had negative results alongside the good ones, considering she burned out Alchemist's goodwill for her.

Also are Yuffie and Godo regretting the crap that Godo tried to pull on Alec Mist? The best thing they got out of Wutai had to be the real Ramen. Instant noodles just don't compare to the real thing. I refused to call the instant noodles as ramen after having the real thing.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Oh yeah. You know what Alchemist usually does when he's getting ready to leave someplace. Now he's just got some more incentive.
Will you have Alec Mist get to see a cactuar or tonberry while in FF7 world?
    M
    Mister Ficser
Probably during his cleanup segment, yeah. There's a handful of things up north which are incredibly useful. Might miss out on the Cactuar though, since those are otherwise only found on one little island and getting the Morph Materia is a major pain since it's inside the Temple of the Ancients.
Edit: I forgot, Jinx did fight with a Tonberry during her attempt at the Arena in the Gold Saucer. She still has its knife!

Did I accidentally skip a chapter? I haven't seen anything about ff7 yet. Or is there advance chapters somewhere else?
    llat-2

Project Gamer has 3 threads the 3rd thread being the latest chapters before they are edited and released on this site and AO3.
Alright I want to say that Lycantho was not paying much attention there. You had Yuffie say to Jinx "I don't need any handouts! I'm Yuffie, greatest ninja to ever nin!" before Jinx ever said Yuffie's name. So part of his post
"A.) I wonder when Yuffie is going to realize that Jinx knew her name, and..."
showed he was skimming text over on Caer.
I really like that Alchemist doesn't fully trust Tiffany after she tried to beat him to death. That kind of stuff is something that leaves deeper scars.
    M
    Mister Ficser
    Thank you :)

I know it's normal for people in DC to just get over it, but Alchemist isn't from DC. Some things just hit him differently.
    Like Tiffany. In his face.
I have to congratulate you, your story made it into my top 3 best DC fics.
Your dialogues are sometimes just epic and I love how you play with the DC lore at times.
    Really good!!
    M
    Mister Ficser
    Thank you!
I'm so sorry it took me so long to see this, I haven't checked my profile messages in nearly a month!

I spend a lot of time on the wiki checking things. It's actually pretty normal for my research to take longer than writing the actual chapter!
Some people have different reactions to different things. If someone tried to kill me, I would never want to have anything to do with them after that point. . I say this after reading the latest segment on CaerAzkaban. Everybody is going to react differently to various things. Dinah is really being bullheaded and not thinking about how the guy she is bitching at might feel about things though.
    M
    Mister Ficser
Pretty sure bullheaded is part of the job description.
He might have more luck if he were communicating his issues, though, rather than internalizing them and just getting snippy. That's the other side of his 'Doesn't tell people stuff unless they ask' thing people seem to enjoy about him.
    llat-2
    llat-2
Does Dinah now realize Alchemist is angry with her or is she just going to keep pushing?
I had hoped Bloodstained would be visited instead of Skyrim, but when it got put to vote there was no more hope. Will Alchemist eventually get to run through Bloodstained?
    M
    Mister Ficser
For a second I read that as Bloodborne and I thought to myself 'Well... That's a level of horror and trauma I -could- do, but I'm pretty sure nobody in DC or this forum deserves that'.
Then I reread that and had an 'Oh. Ohh' moment.
In the event that he has to deal with a speedster like Zoom, I might bring it back up. Otherwise I'll need to think on another situation where it would be appropriate.
I still love Earthbound. I know what the Franklin badge does... I think it would be harder to find a gamer who doesn't know what the Franklin badge does.
