Week 2
The Contract ritual is not a complicated affair, at least for the initial contract anyway. All that is needed is a bit of blood and your spirit power. Biting your thumb, you draw the mark of contract, a five-pointed star drawn in five swift strokes, right above Callie's left eye-socket and through this mark, you connect your own spiritual power to your first contracted shikigami.

The moment the connection is made, Callie's form stiffens up and she looks around with what you think is rapt fascination. It's hard to tell when all you have to work with is a skull and glowing lights for eyes.

"...Pr-Pretty…" Callie manages to get out. Looks like she had spirit sight as expected according to the books. Honestly, you should probably work on your spirit sight considering that you have to put in the effort to just see vague auras around spirits and people.

"Well done, you've just made your first contract, Haruto-kun." Your teacher says with warm approval in her voice.

"Wait, that's it?" Magnes, on the other hand, didn't seem to impress. "All you did was paint a star in blood and you're done? Way to shatter my expectations, people."

"Ignore the robot wannabe, Haruto-kun. Now that you've made your first contract, Callie is now technically your responsibility. However, I'm legally her guardian so consider her part of the family treat her as you would a friend or family member. From here on out, the two of you will be growing together so do your best to get along with one another, okay?"

"O-o-okay…" Callie seems happy about the whole deal though how much of that was due to being ignorant about what had happened, you weren't too sure. Magnes simply snorts in amusement before typing something down on his phone.

"Excellent! Now then, before we help Callie here settle in, is there anything you want Callie?" Airi-sensei asks the tall skeletal killbot. For a few seconds, Callie simply looks confused before her eyes light up as a something comes up.

"...C-Clothes….W-wear clothes…" You and Magnes raise an eyebrow at this admission from the mechanised skeleton.

"Huh...Hmmm...That's going to be tough. You don't have the body for wearing clothes, at least in a way that looks nice," Your master bluntly informs your new shikigami, causing them to slump slightly in disappointment. "Although...Hey, Magnets!"

"It's Magnes and what?" Manes snaps, irritated by your master's mispronunciation of his name.

"Callie here is meant to be an infiltration robot right? Does this means she's meant to be able to transform?"

Huh, good question. Looking at Callie, you could see it happening. After all, her main body is based around a human skeleton. It's not a too far out to think that something was meant to go over it.

"Hmph, I was wondering when you'd ask that. And yeah, she was meant to be installed with a Grade Four Transformer module which would have allowed her to take on the appearances of nearly any human in order to aid infiltration attempts. Callie here, however, ran away before she could get that installed and since she's no longer company property, they don't care anymore so if you want one...well, I suppose I could hook Callie up with a transformation module as well as the rest of her parts. But it ain't going to be cheap."

Huh, so it's going to cost a lot of money. How much would that be able? A thousand yen? A ten thousand maybe?

"Huh? Oh, I see. Don't you know? Tokyo uses credits instead of Yen since we get all kinds of different species and dimensional travellers coming in and out of the place. We still use the Japanese yen outside of Tokyo but you're gonna have to exchange your yen for creds if you want to buy and sell stuff in Tokyo. That said, you're gonna need a lot of credits to finish"

Crud.

"Don't worry, Haruto. If it's money you need, you can start earning some this week. I have several jobs lined up that are perfect for an apprentice onmyoji. You'll just have to save up and buy those upgrades!"

The contract ritual goes without a hitch. In less time than it would take to cook a noodle cup, you have made a "techno-skeleton" as your sensei described Callie, your shikigami. Due to Callie's circumstances and your teacher's good-will, your shikigami is legally under the guardianship of your master. Callie has been given a room next to your own and while she doesn't have any possessions of her own, the skelebot seems pleased with the arrangements.

Observing the development of Callie in a rather different environment from the one that she came from is the D-Sec Troubleshooter known as Magnes. The mecha-shifter has been rather cooperative after his bosses gave the orders to switch from retrieval to simple observation. So far, he's taken to hanging around in your master's home either watching Callie as she takes lessons from both you and your master or just lazing around eating snacks and watching television.

Now as your shikigami, Callie is technically your responsibility but at the current stage of her mental and physical as well as spiritual development, your master simply informs you that she'll be taking over the bulk of Callie's care at least until she reaches a stage of awareness that your master is comfortable with. Magnes also informs you that Callie is technically unfinished and due to the current circumstances, D-Sec is unlikely to install the rest of Callie's attachments and parts - at least not without incentive.

In any case, your lessons regarding the onmyodo arts have advanced far beyond your master's expectations thanks to the incident last week but your master has shown herself to be undeterred by your explosive growth in mastering the onmyoji arts. She has set aside several new textbooks, lesson scrolls, and even some videos for you to watch while she's away on a job. There are also lesson scrolls for Callie's usage as well which are meant to cover the basic lessons in life and society to better prepare your shikigami and by extension yourself for living independently.

That said, your master has also offered to take you with her on several of her jobs in order to get a feel for the work that an onmyoji
