#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

Approved. Recolors take 2 to get a die though, instead of one. Mostly because making from scratch is harder. Made a slight change as to who is who though. That will be Viserys after he returns. Stronger both inside and out.

Edit: Nvmd. I gave godofsmallthings a 20 for what wasn't even a re-color, just him finding a pic. So, you get a 20 for each. Made from scratch will just get two 20s.

That being said, if the gods roll badly enough often enough, could Aegon have a crisis of faith? Would he be punished for it? Would the punishment refresh his faith? What if they roll a 1 on his punishment?

Somehow I only just saw this. If the gods roll badly enough often enough, sure. If they roll badly enough on something major, (like say, saving Dany's life) sure. Would he be punished for having a crisis of faith? No. Leaving the faith? Yes. If they roll a 1 on his punishment? Lol. That's funny. Not possible though. God mechanics are different than mortal mechanics.

B-but...skull-sword. I was saving the Viserys pic for later.

Even if we don't end up picking this has a much higher resolution.

[X] Do not open the door. This can wait.

Not with Thomas the Obvious over our shoulder.

Stretching One's Wings - Part One
Winning Vote

Do not open the door. This can wait until Thomas is no longer around.

Stretching One's Wings - Part One
Fourth Week of the Fifth Month 297 AC

Your decision to not open the door yet made, you feel the words to the spell of unraveling settle in your mind. You know that it is only half the spell, and that Dany holds the other half. It will take the both of you to undo this ward whenever you are ready. You turn to her to mention your reasons, but she cuts you off before you can speak.

"You don't trust Thomas," she says simply. "I know. I gathered that much when you kept interrupting during the earlier conversations. Once might have been a secret you wanted to keep, but twice starts a trend. We'll be back some other time for this. It can keep for now." She turns and begins heading back to the entrance but pauses with a gasp. You turn towards her to ask what it is when you realize for yourself.

The cavern is aglow with Power. Before what looked like simple stone and volcanic rock now glows with barely contained streams of... 'Magic,' you realize suddenly. 'This is the magic of Old Valyria and the Gods. This is how the temple has been kept safe all these years.' The glow is all the more powerful around the altars and the effigies of the Gods especially. Even Serwyn's altar has a glow of power to it. It is a cold, harsh power, but power nonetheless. Each altar has its own (Sense? Flavor?) of power within it, while all save Serwyn's have one common thread, Fire. Looking at Daenerys, you can see slight threads of the power belonging to the two gods she has sworn herself to within her. You must then have a similar feature of your own chosen deities. In fact... you feel more powerful. Dangerous. You don't know how, but you know that should you have faced that thug and his gang now instead of before, he'd have no chance against you.

You grin at the feeling of power within just waiting to be unleashed. You're going to enjoy this, and the next fool who thinks you and easy mark will know the power of the Dragon. You meet Dany's eyes as she finishes looking you over just as you have been looking her over, and the two of you smile. Your position in life has just become that much more secure. Taking her by the arm, you leave the temple, studying the flow of magic throughout as you go.

When you exit the temple Thomas is waiting his eyes alight with hope and expectation. You meet his eyes and give him a mediocre smile. Not one of success, but not one of failure either. The best lies have the hint of truth to them after all, and if he's going to try and use you, then you may as well use him instead.

"We weren't able to get into the inner sanctum, unfortunately," you say as you exit with Daenerys. Thomas' hopeful smile falls as disappointment obviously crosses his face. As he opens his mouth to speak you continue, hit with a bout of inspiration. "However," you say as you raise your palm in a forestalling gesture and continue before he can interrupt, "we were able to secure the blessings of the gods. Perhaps they will allow us to open the way once we have proven ourselves worthy."

Thomas desperately wants what is in that chamber, you know. Better if he thinks that while you can't open it now, you may be able to in the future. Not only will it lead him to help you in your endeavors hoping to get you to the point where the gods will "approve" of you and allow you entry, but it may just keep him from suspecting that you plan to return and open the sanctum without him.

The light returns to Thomas' eyes and the smile to his face. You can't help but notice the greed that flickers across it before he manages to change it to a more congratulatory type of grin. "Then we are making progress!" he yells in an excited voice. "At last, we are making progress. I knew the key was someone of true Valyrian heritage instead of the mere mixed blood worshipers we have here. They try their best, but the secrets of Valyria were always for the Valyrians I suppose." he shakes his head in mock sympathy as he clasps your hand and eagerly shakes it in a congratulatory manner. "Still, soon the will of the gods will be known, and their Divine Order shall once more be upon this Mortal Coil!"

A chill goes down your spine as you hear those last few words. Somehow you know that phrase was not just a phrase, but instead was somehow significant. What it symbolizes you don't know, but you felt the weight of those words. You only barely manage to keep your eyes from narrowing and giving away your suspicions, but you master yourself and prepare for the journey home. The trip has taken a long time, and will cut into some of your time for this final week of the month. You will not be able to get as many things done as usual this week. Still, there is much to do.

What do you do?

Major Actions - Choose Two
[] Talk with the Valyrian faithful. You need to get to know them if you're going to slowly take them from Thomas for your own.
[] Practice with your new abilities. You can feel the magic within you, but you'd hate to loose it without having first mastered your new abilities. You aren't even sure what these abilities are and you need to know just what you are capable of.
[] Start training with Ser Jorah. Knights are powerful warriors and learning to fight as they do can only help. You swore that you'd improve your skill and you intend to keep that oath. The gods may have granted you more power, but you are not likely to be the only one so blessed. Other gods exist, and if you want to stand up to their servants, you'll need to keep increasing your own skill.

Minor Actions - Choose Two
[] Talk with Dany. She has been keeping something from you and it's time you found out what that was. There should be no secrets between a man and his wife anyway. Best to start this relationship off right.
[] Train more with Matalarr. You swore that you'd improve your skill and you intend to keep that oath. The gods may have granted you more power, but you are not likely to be the only one so blessed. Other gods exist, and if you want to stand up to their servants, you'll need to keep increasing your own skill.
[] Check on the status of your farm. Dany has been handling things, but it would be good to get your own eyes on the situation as well. You trust her, but all people can make mistakes or overlook things, yourself included. Another set of eyes can't hurt.
[] Talk with someone. Major talks. Alliances, specific important topics, that kind of thing. Write-in for who.

Free actions - Choose Two
[] Talk with specific individuals. Small talk only. Small increase in relationship, getting to know people better, that kind of thing. Write-in for who.

[] Write-in. I'll decide what class of action (Major, Minor or Free) the write-in is depending on what you choose.

Also, due to increased determination to improve yourself from your loss in the last battle, for the next two weeks bonuses from training are doubled. But only for the next two weeks. Determination wears off over time after all.

Laena Omake 1 - Official Canon
Omake: Laena I

Gods, but she hated listening to this pompous arse. Honestly, why did she even keep showing up?

Laena stifled a yawn, and determinedly kept her features as fervent as possible. A truly impressive feat, seeing as the current sermon was more of the same drivel as last week. Honor the gods for they are always watching, success will shine upon those who show their dedication, cursed shall be the one who turns away from their brilliance, blah blah the gods' fury, blah blah burned in dragon fire.

She'd joined this group a little over a moon's turn ago, as a favor to her friend Nelaehra. Nelly, as Laena liked to call her, had asked for some help after several business deals went sideways on her. Some buyers had apparently backed out because they didn't want to be seen associating with a 'sinful dragon spawn'.

It was common knowledge that the Sealord held some grudge against those with Valyrian blood. But lately, somebody had been stirring up an extra helping of anti-Valyrian feelings all throughout the city.

As someone with the telltale silver-blonde hair of the freehold, Laena had happily agreed to play the spy on one of the possible instigators.

Thomas Mecumber, a non Valyrian who made few friends by following the old Dragon Gods, yet was suspiciously successful regardless.

She had also been genuinely curious about her mother's old faith. A curiosity that was sharply curtailed when she actually met Mecumber. He more or less ran these meetings by dint of being well spoken and, more importantly, the richest of his fellows.

Laena hadn't totally believed Nelly when she'd said that Mecumber was running a successful long con. "I mean really,"she'd thought "who'd be dumb enough to fall for something as trite as 'you need to pay me, the gods said so'."

The answer was, apparently, less than she'd feared but more than she'd hoped.

Her sardonic musings were simultaneously interrupted and vindicated, as one of Mecumber's arse kissers moved by with the tribute box. It was supposedly used to fund offerings for The Five but, not convinced by such pretty words, Laena had tailed Mecumber and his shills to his manor. She'd snuck her way past the guards and climbed up to a barred window just in time to see them tossing the lot of it into the merchant's personal vault. The only thing those coins were funding was his Lysene wine collection.

This sort of thing was the reason Laena found herself playing the part of downtrodden wastrel so often. Mecumber wouldn't expect someone with nothing, to give any real tribute after all. He barely gave her a second glance when she'd showed up, and never spoke to her directly if he could help it.

Laena once again felt a burst of smugness warm her heart. Few actually saw beggars, servants, and whores as more than unusually clever furniture. A fact she'd taken advantage of on many occasions.

But all of that was irrelevant at this point. Laena had concluded weeks ago that Thomas Mecumber was self important, viciously ambitions, and generally full of shit. He was also taking advantage of the easily exploitable dragon worshippers. But he was not, as Nelly had suspected, the source of the growing Valyrian prejudice. Even if he didn't improve things by simply being his own 'charming' self.

So that brings her full circle to why she felt the need to keep coming back. Laena wasn't particularly religious, she didn't want anything from anyone here, and she wasn't being paid to sit through Mecumber's blathering.

"Maybe the gods are trying to tell me something" She mused wryly.

Just then the doors of the meeting hall swung open, drawing everyone's attention away from Mecumber's grandiose oration. Laena slid her own gaze towards the interruption and couldn't help the thought that popped into her head as she saw the newcomer's face "My oh my, but he is a pretty one."

What followed was perhaps the most interesting thing Laena had seen in a good long while. Aegon Velaryon was only a few years older than her, but his striking features and natural charisma seemed to pull people in with little effort. The congregation all but mobbed the boy with questions about Dragon Dreams, the fabled Dragon lords' immunity to fire, and other such legendary abilities.

Especially entertaining was Mecumber's barely hidden unease. His beady little eyes gained a cautious glint to them and even when Velaryon tried to put his fears to rest, the swindler's posture stayed more rigid than normal. "Of course, of course, my good lad.' Mecumber says. "The gods' will must always come first, even before coin. Still, if you are truly of the blood of the Dragonlords as you say, perhaps the gods' will can be made clearer to us all..."

As Mecumber throws an arm over Velaryon's shoulders, Laena catches the flash of annoyance that passes over the boy's face before it smooths into a polite mask.

"Not a complete fool then. Maybe I should find out more about this Aegon Velaryon. It could prove... enlightening." Laena ponders as a mischievous smile forms on her face.

We need some more cash flow and real estate is a relatively low risk investment compared to venture capitalism.

I should remind people that Dany's birthday is closing in and we need a gift.

So on the topic of Birthday gifts does anyone have a suggestion?

I don't know how possible this is (maybe I'm suggesting something stupid but here it goes) but how about 3 babies? I mean we now have the blessing of 2 Valyrian Gods each, I'm sure they'd be happy to provide dragons to their chosen Dragonlords if we work toward that goal and actively work toward gaining their favor.

@OnlineArmadillo yes, that is the correct date.

To all, I am not using the normal calandar. I'm using a logical one. 13 months. 4 weeks each. Leave one day odd out for New Years, and one day odd out on leap year. Every month has 28 days. Simple. Easy. Should be used in real life I think.

To the few ladies in the forum, maybe you'd like to chime in and help these hopeless guys out with gift ideas fit for their first birthday gift to their betrothed? Looking at you @Rivain, @nanayoung and @Mellodi. Pretty sure there are others too, but I don't remember exactly who. Don't have to help, obviously... but it probably would make for a better gift.

That will be happening regardless of it being Danny's birthday. It would probably be a nice extra if we could get them to hatch so soon but I was thinking something more personal for her.

Honestly I think we should have Aegon just ask her what she wants.

My family is not huge on keeping gifts secret or trying to guess what people want, but Dany is not just Egg's sister. She is also his fiancé.

I'd probably get her something nice but practical. Some Jewelry or other accessory that can double as a weapon or something. An actual weapon. Some nice new clothes that are designed for freedom of movement etc.

Any girls out there who want to weigh in on this?

Edit: Yes please help me. :lol
