It exploding into swords doesn't make sense since it is already a sword and Swords don't become more swords unless they're trapped in the form of something that isn't a sword.

it'd prolly be a conceptual weapon adept at Hacking, Slashing, and Piercing with some ability at Parrying. possibly with some minor shapeshifting to change what kind of mundane sword it resembles with what it's best at shifting appropriately.

Nah. FATE/UBW Shirou still has a chance for awesome. It's PrisimaIllya Shirou who is always upstaged. I mean look at him.
