And reach out you do, making contact with the mind of the one who surrounds you, the mind you remember from when you were still in the shell, the mind of your mother.

Immediately, her mind recoils, alarmed at the sudden intrusion into her mindscape. You can feel her attention focusing on you, the moment of aggression, followed by recognition.

And then she is all around you, cradling you, washing you with affection. "It's you!" you hear her mental voice cry, even as her wings falter in shock before beating more strongly than before. Her physical body lets out a trumpeting roar, no words, just sound and joy as she lets the world know of her happiness.

"It's you! It's you! It's you!" she cries over and over again, her mind reeling with happiness as she simply rests her mind against yours. "I've looked for you and your siblings for so long… I had almost given up hope of ever seeing any of you again, but here you are!"

You cannot help but feel comforted by the joy your mother feels at your appearance. Despite the wonderful treatment of Alaina and the other people at the castle, you know now that given the option, she would never have abandoned you to the whims of fate.

Quickly, however, you feel your mother calm, her presence becoming steady and sure once more even as her joy remains. "How is it that you found my mind amongst the seas of thought that wash over the world, young one?"

In reply, you send her your memories of falling asleep, the dream you were having fading into darkness, and then the falling sensation before you appeared here. Surprise flashes across her mind as your mother processes this, "A Dreamwalker? And one so young? Truly I have been blessed with a gifted child. Mayhap you have seen into the dreams of your siblings as well?"

In response, you send her your visions of your elder sister, Harmony. And her joy intensifies, reminding you of the comforting fires she breathed upon your eggs when you were still in your shells. "It gladdens my heart that you are both alive and well. You are well, I take it?"

You show her your memories of the past few days, and you feel relief wash over her. Watching through your memories with you, she can feel her body smile as Alaina gives you your name. "A fine name, a fine name indeed." Your mother pauses, realising that she hasn't yet given you her name. "Apologies, my child, my name is Sorella."

You continue to show Sorella your memories, laughing as you show her your attempt at scaling the king's head and attempting to steal his crown. She makes a noise of recognition at the sight of the Jeweltree you slept under. "I believe I might know where you are. But now that I know you are safe, I feel I should search for those siblings of yours that still remain beyond my sight."

You begin to feel your grip on the dream fade, and Sorella notices as your presence begins to fade from her awareness in kind. "It appears that it is time for you to wake, little one. Stay safe, and I will see when I next fly your skies."

She sends you feelings of warmth and love, like you remember from your time within the shell, and the scene from Sorella's eyes fades into darkness as you are whisked away once more upon tides of light and dust. When that too, fades, you find yourself waking once again upon Alaina's bed, wrapped cozily in her arms.

Congratulations everyone on your successes so far! Will is one of the key skills you need to use magic effectively. You've gained both that and a trait I was in two minds about giving you before your (rather unexpected) success.
