Class Roll: 18 + 15 (Those who can't) + 10 (The Dice Gods) = 43 Success
The only really interesting thing that happens today is that you introduce a new student to the class.
Her name is Carlie, and her family recently moved to the neighborhood last week. That's why she wasn't enrolled in school until now.
She does the normal introductions, tells everyone her name, and you get prepared to catch him up on your current lesson.
Outside of that, nothing really happens.
(New Student: Carlie!)
What's going on Olly?: 95 + 10 (Orator) + 10 (SL Level) = 115 Artificial Crit
This was….not what you were expecting to say the least.
"I promise, I'll explain everything later," Olly who suddenly got a lot taller than you says from your left. Her green spotted purple scales moved with her as she makes an impromptu seat out of them. You are currently sitting on one of the few seats for humans in the house.
"What's there to explain?" a male, but slightly feminine voice says from your right, "I think it's pretty obvious now that he's seen what we really look like." His scales are green and match the long mess of hair on his head.
Another voice comes from the per—mythic sitting in front of you, "I agree. It isn't rocket science after all." Her scales are a deep violet, with hair done up in a ponytail that swings to her shoulders.
Nervous as all get out, you take another sip of the tea given to you by Olly. You've been assured their isn't anything poisonous in it, but that doesn't really make it better.
There are multiple reasons for this.
The first being the fact that her and her entire family are half snake. That was the first thing you noticed when you came to her house today. When you knocked on the door, no one answered at first. You tried again and this time were rewarded with coming face to face with yellow snake underbelly.
You were shocked to say the least. Thankfully, Olly very calmly told you the truth of the situation. Or at least she tried to.
That brings you to the second reason for your nervousness; her parents. She has a mother and a father, both Lamia's who decided to visit her today. If you have them tell it, it's because they wanted to check on their little girl and make sure she's ok. Olly has refuted this as them just wanting to see if she has a harem yet.
Yes, a harem.
When Lamia's come of age they are expected to go through a "rite of passage" of sorts. This involves heading out into the human world and bedding at least twenty-five humans of either gender. Do this and you are officially considered an adult. From there you are allowed full autonomy of your life. Because of this, Lamia's don't really believe in the idea of "love". Their society sees most relationships as a means to end. Whether that means be reproduction or just, to quote Olly's mother, "having a little fun every now and then." Their partners are treated well they assure you. At least, as well as a person/mythic whose mind has been broken by countless sex orgies and daily blood draining can be treated anyway.
When you discovered that, your brain was just about ready to bolt out the door before you got chloroformed, but Olly assuaged your fears.
Turns out growing up around fifty+ people who were used for little more than sex and sustenance can cause serious emotional and psychological hang ups that will follow a child into adulthood. Who would've thought?
This ran counter to everything that Olly's home, friends, and most of all family believed in. So, she saw no other option than to leave. Now she does her best to survive on blood pacs from the blood bank.
However, her parents are tenacious people and didn't stop looking until they found her.
And it just so happens that you decided to visit at the same time.
The odds of such a thing happening are too low for you to count right now.
So now, here you are sitting in between three lamias. One who is both your co-worker and possible girlfriend, and the other two are her parents who are upset that she hasn't gone into the family business. To say there's tension would be an understatement. As such, what you thought was going to be a fun outing with someone you….uhh, enjoy the company of turns into a staring match between three snake people. You dare not say anything, lest it set off the powder keg that is what happens when a black sheep and its parents are in the same room together.
Time passes. No one says anything other than standard pleasantries. No one makes any overt moves, though you keep catching Olly's parents glancing at you every now and then with their slitted eyes.
It soon hits midday, so you decide it's time to take your leave. You stand up, announcing your intention. Olly offers to walk you out which you happily accept. You're both out the door and into the streets before her parents can say otherwise.
Once you're back in the driveway of her house, you put your hands on your knees and take deep breathes. That was tense. You felt like a mouse cornered by three starving cats in there!
You hear the sound of paper ripping and look behind you. Olly's...shedding for lack of a better word. Her snake half is turning into something more akin to paper mache, letting her easily tear through it and return to her human form. The discoloration travels all the way down to the tail, until it dissolves into nothingness under the sun's rays. You're slightly freaked out, but by now you're starting to get used to it.
Olly walks up to you, looking nervous, "So, now you know."
"Yeah," you turn to face her so she's not talking to your back this whole time, "so the whole "waiting for mister right" thing is because of...?"
"Yes."
"Oh."
"I just…I don't want to be like the rest of my family," she grabs her arm and looks down at the ground. "If I get intimate with anyone, I want it to mean something. Really mean something. Not just have a fling and then toss them aside later."
"And that's why you're so cold to our co-workers," you can understand that. Heck, you sympathize. You never really got why anyone would just sleep with someone then forget about it later. Not that there's anything wrong with it, and you're sure people have their reasons. It's just never been something you've liked.
Olly nods, then looks at the ground sadly, "If you don't want to see me anymore, I understand."
"Why wouldn't I want to see you anymore?" Olly looks up at you, surprised. You continue, "I'll admit, you being a Lamia was a...surprise. There were hints sure, but I was still shocked. However, it's not the weirdest thing I've ever seen, and just because you're not human doesn't mean you're not a person. With hopes, dreams, and everything in-between."
She's still gripping her right arm tightly, so you walk over and take it into your hand. It does the job of calming her down at least, "I want to spend time with you, because of who you are. Not what you are, not what your family is, just you. So, cheer up, ok?"
It's not the best thing you've said. Heck, you're sure it wouldn't even reach number ten in a list of the top ten speeches of all time, but it does the trick. Olly stops shaking and puts her head on your shoulder. You both stay like that, her breathing against your shoulder as you comfort her. You must look like quite a sight to the neighbors.
Afterward, you both separate. She kisses you on your forehead, "Thank you, Howard."
"No problem. Besides, I've gotten pretty used to this type of thing. I mean my daughter is an Eldritch Abomination so—"
"ANA IS A WHAT?!?!"
Ooooooohhhhhhh shit.
You've got explaining to do.

Learn Body Language Roll: 73 High Success
On your way home, you stop by the park and take a seat on a bench.
Then, you just sit there.
You sit there, and watch.
You're not sure how, but watching people interact with each other helps you out. Just watching as they talk to each other, experience the world, even just walking around. All of it gives you insight into who they are and what they enjoy.
It is, kind of eye-opening really.
You keep this up until you feel like you've learned all you can from just watching random strangers. Then you stand up and walk back to your car.
(Perk Gained: Insight (Novice): I can read you like a book. (+10 to Perception Rolls against people!))
Sorry it took so long guys, and also if it's quality has kind of gone down.
I've been trying to make my Alucard Quest be updated faster than some of my other ones, so I put a lot of my energy into that one.
I'll make sure to put up Ana's part, but before I do, who wants an Interlude?
