"Let's do it." You said, grinning.

---

Sneaking up, you whistled heavily. That was a van, and you saw five guys. One, decked out in pimp chains, seemed to be the head of the effort. There was also a driver, two muscly dudes packing obvious heat, and a chick stoned out of her mind in the back of the van. Recon'ing the area was turning out to be pretty easy, and you quickly figured out their modus operandi.

Aparently, one of the local street gangs (Crimson Tigers) had this area under lock and key, and it was a great place to sell drugs with a side of prostitution too. The pimp/dealer you spotted wasn't very high up the chain, though; listening in from a convient bush didn't tell you too much about the local area.

"You know," Manfred opined, "I'm pretty sure you can keep the van. It's probably better than the Honda sitting at home."

You nodded, and checked your guns. Both Tokorevs were loaded full, although you didn't have any spare clips. Drawing and cocking one, you pulsed your vision carefully, bringing your Passive Perception skill to full activity. Manfred said something, though you couldn't hear him over the adrenalyn rush of forcing a Passive Skill to Active.

The first one to go was the piece of muscle leaning by the alley you were in. Flicking open your batton, you deftly snapped it arround the guy's throat and threw yourself backwords, choking him in the proccess. Holding it for a minute, you waited until he stopped twitching before unfolding a pocketknife and calmly slammed it into his armpit. As it servered three arteries and preforated his lung, you wiped it off on him and calmly pocketed his pistol. One down, four to go.

Number two was the driver. Nonchalantly walking past the van towards the rear and observing the open window, you flicked a knife into your hand and slammed it in the driver's neck, catching his windpipe and another artery on the stroke. As he gurgled faintly, you tossed his corpse out after opening the door. A quick look at the ho showed she was quite literally stoned senseless. Good. Meant you didn't need to kill her.

Three, alias Muscle 2, had heard the "thunk" of the driver turning around and had his gun halfway up when you proceeded to start shooting him. Three rounds rapid to the center of mass didn't seem to faze him much, but going for a leg you managed to keep him from actually drawing a bead on you. Moving up, you put one in the back of his head with deliberate precision and moved on to the dealer.

BAM.

As you felt your side crumple in, your HP took a steep dive as you crumpled. Getting your gun back up, you threw two rounds out to supress the dealer as you started limping your way to the wall. Using it to hold yourself up, you quickly checked how many rounds you had left in the gun. Two more- great. As the gun came out again, you pocked two shots off at it as you dived for the gun. Amazingly, one of the bullets caught it in the dealer's hand, forcing him to drop the weapon and cry out, stumbling forward. You'd already swapped guns by this point, so it was a matter of simple practice to double-tap him and go for the confirmation headshot.

"Fuck." you muttered, feeling your side.

HP: 15/120

"Not your brightest moment there, skippy." Manfred opined. "Guns hurt."

"No shit." you replied. "Owww."

"Yeah yeah yeah. Listen, just police the site, alright?" Manfred reminded. "You're lucky that didn't proc a stack of Bleed."

"Tell the papers." you groaned. "This is gonna be a bitch and a half."

---

Back at your safe house, you groaned quietly. Your side hurt, dumping those bodies had been hard, and you still needed to start planning on your next thing to do...

QUEST COMPLETE: PAPERS, PLEASE! GET 100XP, $1000, 2 POINTS, REWARD ITEM: CANADIAN PASSPORT!

"Motherfucker..." you groaned.

"Whazzat?" a voice came from inside your new van. "Who's there? Jamal, listen, unless you've got some KY somewhere I ain't turning no more tricks today..."

Shit. The ho. You need a plan, and fast.

[X] Get a door open on the van open ASAP, in case she's phoning the police. There are likely to be blood splatters on the inside of the van from the other kills. Shoot her to death. Don't try melee with that low hp. There can be no witnesses to interrupt your quiet life.
-[X] Check her phone record if you can. Quickly cover the corpse, grab any self-identifying items, and bug out. Temporarily lay low outside of your safehouse, and watch from a secluded area to see if the authorities phone traced, or if nosy people come snooping.

@7734
Are we at the house? or are we still at the event location?

if we are still at the event location we just need to use a bit of shirt to cover our face and tell the hoe to get out

... unless we plan on being her new pimp and taking over organized crime. which i am all for.

We're at the house. You're also low on HP and dead tired.

Ok, so we somehow forget her in the back of the truck when we drove her here...

@7734 is it an option for us to take over the criminal underground?

[x] Throw on a clean shirt, then get in the car and start driving
-[x] Hi, I am the new guy, boss told me to drop you off back at your place and then get the van oil changed. Where do I drop you off.

While not exactly planned, its certainly within the scope of this quest. That said, it will also be a long-running item which would help and hinder with the story events that are planned.

Yes, story events are a thing. Fucking them up will cause issues.

Thanks for clarifying.
Is this an AU of IRL, or an AU of some setting like DC or Marvel or some such?

Seems like the best idea. Regardless of what the voice guy saying about these events being guilt free experience, it's still murdering people. Would rather keep it to a minimum. Or, at least, if we do murder people we don't care who we murder, cause really the normal distinctions are pretty arbitrary in my opinion.

To be perfectly honest I should have done this earlier, but I didn't think it would happen.

Due to life circumstances, this Quest is on Hiatus until provisionally July 1.

AN: A month late and a dollar short...

Sliding into the driver's seat of the van, you kept a neutral smile on, and turned your head around. Practically hearing the sound of dice rolling in your head, you grinned at the hooker behind you.

"Hey. Listen, boss told me to take the van down to get the oil changed, ok?"

Turning back around, you started to ease the van forward, keeping an eye on your gun. It was still sitting in your cargo pocket, right where you could get to it without too much trouble. Easing the clutch out, you drove forward, out of your warehouse carefully. That's when the improvised garotee slipped over your neck, held painfully tight by the hooker in the back.

"You're too pale to try and pull that one on me, cracker." she said, hissing in your ear. "Just 'cause I ain't exactly proper Crimson Tigers don't mean I'm feelin' real charitable 'bout now."

Pulling your Tokarev out and whipping out a shot in her general direction to get her to let go, you breathed deaply as she did and you turned to point the gun at her and shoot-

Click!

"AHH! Don't shoot!" she yelled, before noticing your gun had stovepiped. Growling, you rearmed it quickly, keeping it trained on her.

"Don't shoot, please don't shoot!" she kept yelling. "I'm just some ho, you don't need to cap me one! Just don't shoot!"

"Christ." you muttered. "What was that for?"

"Someone in the van lying about stealing the van, what do you think I'm supposed to do!?" she said, glaring at your gun. "Kemal would skin me alive if he found me without the van, and he's still got the last one hanging up on the wall!"

Carefully toggling the safety, you started to lower it. "So. Looks like I have a ho."

"Minion, technically." Manfred butted in, chuckling. "Gamer's Sons pick them up like moths to a flame. Good job getting one at Level One, though!"

The ho nodded, giving you an opportunity to look her over. Dark as a new moon's sky, she was possibly beautiful if one liked dye-red hair and fake breasts as large as their head. If you looked carefully, there was needle-tracks on the inside of her arms, and what looked like a few burns on her legs. Clothing-wise, she was wearing a pair of booty shorts and a panicked look, her shirt used to try and strangle you. Some part of you found it rather disturbing you were able to handle the tableau of mostly-naked woman without ogling her helplessly, while the rest of your mind was just freewheeling.

"Boss, piece of advice." Manfred butted in. "This Kemal fellow- he sounds like a villain, and villains have attached Quests. And Quests are worth dosh, EXP, and favors, all three of which you need."

You almost nodded, your mind trying to find out the best way to handle this. "Alright, I need a name."

"Claire." she said, breathing a little easier.

"Ok, Claire." you replied, breathing in and out carefully. "Good news and bad news time. Good news, I'm not going to shoot you. Bad news, you're not exactly going home."

"You say that like I've got a home to go to." Claire said, crossing her arms over her chest. Shruging, you pocketed your gun and kept talking.

"To be frank, I need a helper and it sounds like the Crimson Tigers are going to try and hurt you when you get back to them. As such, you're staying here for a week or so until I get the gang sorted out."

Claire laughed. "You think you can negotiate with a bunch of Persian revanchists? Good fucking luck!"

You shrugged. "I speak bullets well enough. Presumably, so do they."

Quest Added: Break the Crimson Tigers!

"Um." went Claire, as you sat down to drive back to your warehouse. Parking and shutting the van off, you stepped out, groaning. As she followed you, you gestured to a spot on the floor next to your living area.

"Alright, dime tour time." you said, waving your hand. "We've got my living area, now our living area, the workshop, the loot pile, and the rest of the warehouse. Your first job is to clean anything of value out of the van, and then sorting out the loot pile. Meanwhile, I'm going to be fucking around with the Honda over there, alright?"

Heading over to the car, you rolled beneath it carefully, before giving Manfred a tap on the metaphorical shoulder.

"Manfred, pull up my status, ok?"

"Alright, you're wondering about Points, right?"

"Yeah, I think I remember enough Fallout to figure 'em out. Put four in VIT, two in DEX, and one in STR."

"Gotcha, boss."

"Anyway, mind explaining Equipped Skills for me? Like, I get Skills, but Equipped Skills?"

Manfred sighed. "Alright, boss, you're not the Gamer. You're the Gamer's Son, which means there's a bullshit tether from the Gamer to you. Since said tether is limited bandwidth, you've got your Equipped Skills, which you use most or select when you wake up. You've still got your regular muscle memory and stat boots still, but Gamer-inspired bullshittery is cut off when a Skill isn't equipped. Geddit?"

You shrugged. "Thereabouts."

"Great. Incidentally, your Minion Request went through provisionally, so you may have up to five Minions once you're done turning Kemal into a sack of lead. Incidentally, I got some info off the mainframe on the guy, and lemme tell you- not a nice customer. You're gonna want to asses your situation very carefully before you go after him, but there's also word of putting a bounty on him from our guys. These Crimson Tigers have been found with connections, if you catch my drift, and Central is making noises about those connections ending by hook or by crook.

Groaning, you rolled out from under the car and went over to your sleeping pile to get changed and look at your still-bloody bandage. You'd worry about this shit tomorrow.

New Home 6
The next morning, you decided to take as much of a day off as you ever did. The easiest way to do that was to just deep-clean your entire warehouse.

Apparently, somewhere along the line you'd inherited a work ethic. Who knew? Either way, you were about to break out a piece of chalk you'd picked up somewhere and detail where everything went. First up was your living space- a nice, twenty foot square box. Claire got a living space eight feet square next to it, with little designated doors to an imaginary hallway. After that came the kitchen, and the pantry, and where you'd put the fridge when you could actually get a fridge, and-

Blinking, you looked at where you'd rammed into Claire and landed on your ass. "Oh. You woke up."

"Yeah, no shit? You got coffee?"

Going over to the kitchen through the hallway and door, you went through your spare MRE package parts. "Instant, yeah. I haven't put the kettle on for breakfast yet, though."

Grumbling, Claire came over and sat on the floor after you gave her a plastic mug and the coffee packet. Once you'd poured her hot water and made your own bowl of oatmeal, you looked out over your warehouse. "We're going to be cleaning and sorting today." you said offhandedly. "I'll mark out where it goes, you carry it, then we sort it."

"Okay."

----

About halfway through the day, you pronounced the job done. Sitting down next to the loot pile, you sighed happily and started sorting. First up, your new guns!

"Whelp."

"So whatcha find?" Claire asked.

"A bunch of shit." you replied, looking at the three copy guns. "And more importantly, a large, pain in the ass piece of shit. This Deagle is tripple shit, too."

"Oh?"

"You need to be strong like a bear it will stovepipe every time, before you take into account it's going to try and jam on you at literally every opportunity given. At this point I just want to take it apart and get rid of the remains."

"Alright. Also, found a can of 7.62 under the passenger seat of the van."

"Great. I'm gonna work on my guns."

Pulling out your existing Tokarevs, you put them next to the three new ones, and breathed in. Time to disassemble everything. Then, when you'd disassembled everything, examine each and every part independently, and then reassemble one good enough gun from five turds.

Gunsmithing has leveled up!

"Hey, Manfred?"

"Yeah, Henri?"

"You mentioned something about there being more children of the Gamer?"

"Yeah, a ton. As a matter of fact, you're probably going to be meeting Annalisa pretty soon."

You blinked, halfway through gazing through barrels to check for fouling and pitting. "Oh?"

"Yeah." Manfred said, chuckling. "She likes getting a favor out of newbies in exchange for some of her second-rate swag. Good for her, since it keeps her vault empty, good for you because you're still slinging a pair of slavshit pistols and your only alternative is a Zionist penis compensator."

"Thanks for the compliments..." you muttered, making sure you chosen slide assembly was all locked in place. "Also, do you know any grocery stores around here?"

"Yeah, there's one two blocks down from here."

"Great- I want bread with dinner."
