Jiraiya is pissed, I think we can all agree on this. There is almost no universe where, at the end of our meeting, he'll go off and say "alright then, just don't screw up again" (i.e., let us go with no immediate commitment and lets us train in Iron). My opinion on what he's going to do is along the lines of "you did a pretty good job of infiltrating Iron, and you managed to diplomancy your way through a religious cult, so I'm going to give you a chance. I have a mission in -Rice?-. Good luck!".

I was reading back through old pages and saw this. Amazing guess.

Y'all seem to be believing Kagome too much that Dummy is Sarutobi.
No, no, no. Dummy is Zabuza. And also Sarutobi, because everyone is Zabuza.

@eaglejarl @OliWhail @Velorien

If we got Hazou some medknow levels would that decrease the TNs of bioseals?
@eaglejarl just to check, is the lack of response because you're discussing this in QM-chat?
I think we missed this originally. I've raised it in QM chat; the others don't seem to be around at the moment, but I'll get back to you when they are.

How many days passed in chapter 101?
Question noted, will get back to you once @Velorien tells us the answer.

Just updating the QM rulings after being away since Thursday. I made a grand total of two updates, but boy was that experience informative:

First, I found out that if you link a tumblr post, some unmitigated fuck decided that it would be a good idea to replace the link url with the actual tumblr post. I apologize to the thread; I posted and ran and didn't realize SV would do that, and I apologize to the thread for having an extremely long post on StarCraft meta (not "Starcraft analogy") take up ~1/2 the vertical space in the thread.

Then I found out that moderators can edit your posts. Given the idiocy of replacing tumblr URLs with the associated post, this turned out to be a good thing, but now we're up to two counts of my post being changed from what I wrote.

Also, didn't see anything about tacmov, which I was still waiting on QM approval before moving to the wiki, although I might have missed a post and get that QMs are busy IRL and have a bunch of us trying to get rulings out of them and as frustrated as I am at parts of SV I sympathize with you three.

Yesterday, I began writing a book in LaTeX for my cousin's middle-school daughter, because there aren't enough middle schoolers as smart as her for actual publishers to put out books at her level. LaTeX did precisely what I asked it to 100% of the time.

This seems like skill-sprawl. It's probably more efficient to just directly invest in sealing. There must be ways to get similar gains through cooperation, and that's assuming we want to in the first place. Kagome is dead set against bioseals on purely practical measures, and they appear to have a serious taboo associated with then in general, likely especially in leaf. Let's at least ask the adults first. It's not as if we're short on sealing projects at the moment.

Hmm. Assuming we can't get someone with MechApt skills to help us with our research, it would be more useful to level MechApt more than Medical Knowledge.

This way, we can craft small SealTech devices without having to go through ten layers of security forms and obfuscations.

Training/Research plans happen in parallel with action plans. Learning to shoggoth doesn't impede our other goals in the slightest.

Unless you mean that we should be training or researching something else urgently, but I haven't noticed you voting on anything for that.

I'm just kind of wary of stretching our XP too thin. Hazou has to juggle a number of different things. Research is included in that, but research can go in a lot of different directions. XP used for MedKnow doesn't help us with projects that would use MechApt, like building skyships. It also isn't used for things like increasing Hazou's combat ability, which we will need to do to some extent - I do not want to presume we're going to always be safe just because we've managed to join up with Leaf. Hazou will be a high priority assassination target, and him having the ability to at least effectively run away before being killed is important. (yes, Skywalkers help with that, but not against every possible enemy and not in every possible situation)

Also, I'm just wary of trying to spec into biosealing without first doing something like consulting Jiraiya, because not first asking the world's foremost sealing expert about the risks, benefits, and uses of bioseals when we have access to him seems like a stupid way to go about things.

Getting to sealing 21 cost 73 points. Getting to sealing 22 will cost 100 exp. Buying a Skill to ten that has a synergy is one of the smartest things to do. Especially if you have all ready paid the attribute cost.

@OliWhail @Velorien @eaglejarl we know that it's possible to make a seal version of every jutsu. However knowing these jutsu does not change the difficulty in making the seal version. My question is would it be possible to technique hack a jutsu so that it would be helpful in reproducing it in seal form?

I was thinking more that technique hacking could be used to examine how the jutsu shapes chakra to generate the intended effect. Then you could compare that to how seals in general shape chakra. After making that comparison you could then modify the jutsu to a version that has more in common with the way seals interact with chakra. Then in turn you would attempt to develop a seal that integrated those changes.

Basically I was wondering if technical analysis of jutsu and chakra would help provide a path to similar seals. However this might just change the difficulty level from practically impossible to very very hard.

Also much like @MadScientist don't want to pester you but have you guys seen this? @eaglejarl @OliWhail @Velorien

My inclination is no to the first (not sure what that would actually mean) and yes to the second (understanding what the chakra is doing -> easier time having it do a similar thing elsewhere, but not 100% translation because human chakra system =\= paper and ink) - will put it into chat.

So, I don't remember this being discussed, but should Keiko inform the Pangolins that the group has been accepted into Leaf and that she's marrying into the prestigious Nara clan? Or should we wait until after the Capybara scroll mission has been completed, so we have some good news in case things go poorly for whatever reason?

It does not have synergy with sealing. It has synergy with one narrow facet of sealing that frankly we are not skilled enough at sealing to begin with to even think about doing. We're not even chuunin-level at sealing, we'd kill ourselves if we tried to do biosealing.

[X] Training Hazou: None

[X] Training Hazou: None

e: Don't make me break out the A-word guys :p

[X] Training Hazou: None
[X] Training Keiko: None
[X] Training Noburi: None
[X] Training All: None

So what are you guys wanting to spend exp on instead of MedKnow? Cause the only thing we can't afford to level right now is buying a second chakra attribute. Which is cool if that's what you think we should do but seems just dumb to not invest in something IMHO

Nothing, right now. Sealing and Social (maybe), once we have time and a clearer picture as to our status post-clanning.

\Cause the only thing we can't afford to level right now is buying a second chakra attribute.
Why do you think this?

We can level Diplomacy, Sealing, or Technique Hacking as well.

fake edit: What @faflec said

real edit: Oh! Also faflec, you should add in your plan to inform J about our tactical clone strike technique. Anyone with shadow clone and vacuum step can use it, particularly those with loads of chakra. We definitely don't know anyone with a wind affinity that has loads of chakra, but I'm sure he does... :p

Actually, because of the way the rules are set up, it does have synergy with all of sealing.

You start by raising MedKnow to 10. This decreases the TN of a bioseal you want to make (let's say a paper tag where you tie it around someone's wrist and it displays their blood pressure).

Then having researched that bioseal, all seals related to that bioseal also have their TNs reduced (for example, a seal that measures the steam pressure in a primitive steam engine that we try to build).

It's indirect, but you'll find that biological systems do a lot of things that we might want to research and then convert to nonbiological seals. And having lower TNs on bioseals makes that much easier.
