[X] Your majesty?

Oh my god. Where do I begin? Sheik continuing to prove herself best girl with how adorkable she is? Ganondorf appearing and not only being (for now) friendly, but also a total bro? Between Link and Ganondorf, the Yiga assassin getting his shit so wrecked he is less of a corpse and more of a pile of meat now? :D

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite quests!

He then looks at Sheik, a grin on his face, "Still, to lay claim so quickly. You'd be the talk of the town among the Gerudo, how'd you do it with this numbskull?"
The fact that her apparently conquering Link would make her the talk of town suggest Link has some interesting history with them. I can't wait.

[X] Your majesty?

Well Zelda is just stupidly cute, and Ganondorf... That look of realization and his hand when he saw Zelda... Either he knows, or we're REALLY good bros. Does he have the Giant Horse?

[X] Look, I picked her up out of the river near dead after the Yiga shot her with a poisoned arrow, the morning before yesterday, beyond that we are friends who are going to travel around together looking into these old shrine, now what's with this majesty business, you never told me you were royalty, should I be bowing and scraping now?

Also does he still have the power piece?

I admit that you've kind of lost me here. What do you mean by this, exactly?
That it's very atypical for a Zelda reincarnation cycle not to have a true avatar of Demise. The Rozsa empire has overturned the way a reincarnation cycle is supposed to go, so instead of the curse replaying the narrative it was meant to (a dark being whisks away Zelda, and Link has to save her and defeat the great evil with the Master Sword), it's setting the situation up to restore things to a state where that narrative can happen properly.

So what you're saying is that this set of Triforce users have been deliberately been put on a path to deal with the Empire and then end up replaying the "normal" Zelda formula after they're done with that?

Interesting. That's... yeah that sounds potentially about right. Hrm.

Alternatively, the prologue does appear to imply that the old curse is finally faded. Who really knows?

...this is like having a Jojo Bizarre Adventure protagonist be suddenly rescued by Dio shortly after the start of the story.

After so many defeats and losses, I wonder if ol' Ganon has realized that if you can't beat them, manipulate them to be your allies and use them to get everything you want!

Also, isn't he kinda being too obvious here by calling himself Ganondorf?

Well, I think that was more Gannondorf mistaking Zelda for a Yiga than anything else, since the Yiga are the same race as the Shiekians, just servants of the enemy.
It's one of those things that's delibrately ambiguous. Eithier he reacted to what he thought was a Yiga, or he consciously or unconciously realized that Link and Zelda are right there and he has the perfect opportunity to finally kill them.

Personally, I'm hoping he is the equivalent of a recovering addict. Every day he has to wake up, look himself in the mirror and go "I will not go after Link and Zelda no matter how much I want to. It never works out."

That or the Rozsa Monarch or other leading member of the empire is the incarnation of Demise.

The incarnation of Demise need not be Ganondorf correct? We have had Majora, Vaati, and others.

We have also had stories where Zelda was not kidnapped in the beginning but our ally, Wind Waker.

Maybe, this is nothing but another variation on the story.

Even the incarnation of Demise doesn't recall past lives. There's no reason to believe this mortal being named Ganondorf is capable of recalling a life he has not lived, considering Link and Zelda don't remember theirs either.

[x] Unfortunately Ganondorf, we are only friends.

Um, people, maybe think twice before voting for this?

Zelda doesn't even want us to know that she's the princess, we could at least do her the courtesy of not spilling the beans on that to everyone we meet.

Tempted to just vote

[] Yes, it's exactly what you think.

*wiggles hand* Given that half the time Ganon is only sealed, not killed (and has been literally brought back from the dead on at least one occasion)...

But that's pretty clearly not the case this time. If Zelda recognizes him as King of the Gerudo, a title conferred to the males born every hundred years, then he was born naturally and grew up normally for his station.

Fear not, that's not what the vote means. If you carefully read the update, the point where the words your majesty are mentioned is clearly from a stuttering Zelda Shiek in reference to Ganondorf. Thus, voting that is Link asking why she referred to him as a majesty and getting that explanation.
