I wonder if shirou will sense something off about Akechi, I mean he is somehow able to seemingly sense palaces, so there's a chance he might be able to sense the fact that Akechi just has a more darker version of his own ability.

Is there any way Shirou can improve his magecraft in Persona, not exactly a lot of mages about, unless Angry Mangos is a competent mage, which im pretty sure he isn't, im not sure how Shirou can improve it here.

I thought that was her palace in the making if I'm honest.

Thinking about it after you said it, yeah that makes sense, but I don't see any reason why we couldn't do so regardless, plus aren't people who develop Palaces usually prime to manifest a Persona?

Not sure what our plans are for the Phantom Thieves, but having a slightly alternative team could be really cool, so like; recruiting Sae instead of Makoto. Get Akechi early maybe, and get him to be properly on our side.

Rocking off the rails and getting us onto an angled direction. See how much we can mix things up.

TBF, were already quite of the rails already, Shirou is living with Sae instead of Soujiro and he's going to start school as a 3rd year instead of a 2nd, that alone will change the team composition by a bit.

[X] Talk with Makoto.

If Sae hadn't said she was going to her room I'd have probably picked her because of her likely lesser availability, but because she did it kinda feels weird to me to have Shirou just immediately follow her. Talking to Makoto feels like it would flow more naturally? If nothing else they can talk about dinner!

I'm pretty sure it would be pretty hard for them to get a persona, like it happened in P5 with futaba then with Maruki, but palaces and personas are kind of opposites.

Palaces are when a person's desires and negative thoughts consume them meanwhile personas basically come from that person no longer lying to themself about what they want and basically taming those desires, That's why people after they get personas can't get palaces (which is kind of weird because the palaces remain even after they get personas.)

I get that, but if we help her out, and she resolves her demons and either we delve into her Palace or nip it in the bud, she can likely use her newfound resolutions and clarity of purpose.

I think it makes sense, sure it probably wouldn't work for everyone, but with the type of person she is fit for it, plus Makoto can manifest one.

'Well look at that. Seems we chose a place with a view, huh?' He's clearly referring to 'something' in front of you, and he's certainly not wrong-

'Stop.'

'Nah, you were thinking it too. I'm just louder about it.'

You unfortunately don't have a rebuttal, so you just keep following her, ignoring the laughing.
Makes sense, with him being from Artoria's Route he definitely has a history for having a thing for older women. (I know Saber is physically a teen but she's still an adult.)

[X] Try to spend some time with Sae.

Let Shirou experience the culture shock tomorrow. Tonight he can talk to his guardian because he will not have as many chances.

one to deny Angra, and one because Shirou is genuinely interested in Sae's Job.

Sae taking Futaba's place here is a possibility, and wouldn't that be hilarious, her being in charge of investigating herself. Just saying, our crew may very well look much different from canon (and I encourage any and all divergences from canon possible), like I kind of expect Makoto and especially Sae to get involved much earlier. Likewise, the people we go after and in what order may vary as well, aside from Kamoshida, for obvious reasons. Especially due to Bloodhound.

Might even get involved with other Persona casts or greater plots, just saying. One of the core issues with Persona as a setting for a fanfic, is that the stations of canon are extremely hard to truly break away from. In P3, for example unless you explore the greater setting (like adding SMT in), create OC, or crossover, you're bound to the beating the monthly shadows, climbing Tartarus, befriending the same people in similar ways, and fighting Nyx, ignoring any greater-scale antagonists like Nyar.

I feel like we'll probably end up with having Futaba's palace still even if we don't get her as a party member since ya know, she's the one who asked for it herself.

It'd....be real weird for a prosecutor to actually want t be a thief, much less a P5 thief especially Sae if I'm being honest.

Akechi....no spoilers for those not in the know but man's in deep with his task and goal and all I doubt we're getting him "early" if we actually convert him.
