Well, I'd wanted to go for hobo Shirou, simply because as an idea that seems really interesting. It would completely throw the stations of cannon to the side and well

The theme of phantom thieves is how people are outside "normal" society. A wanted homeless man, is kinda the peak of that, as an narrativr idea would be very interesting.

That being said, with my vote we stand at a grand total of 1 whole vote added up, so approval voting for Sae as well, since it's gonna be different.

Tbh, The cafe seems like it should be Joker's place

It is, but a good chunk of the voter base for P5 picked it specifically for the interactions between the P5 cast and Shirou while socializing.
 
I think the problem with Hobo Shirou is that it would change the story too much. You can't really attend school while on the run from the cops, after all.
 
There might be a chance that the Shadow Operatives get sent to deal with Shirou if he went Hobo because they might think his magecraft is him using persona abilities.
 
I kind of want to see Shirou use tracing to do more that just projecting magic swords. I wonder if he can project antimatter...
Edit: As Shirou is desperate we probably can do lot of fun stuff that normal Shirou wouldn't do because he is focused on heroism. Also his tracing breaks rules of energy conservation we can do lot of stuff with it. I really want to see Shirou going full (heroic)mad scientist-wizard. Tracing and structural analysis is severely underutilized in most stories and quests only one that I had read that used it in more creative way is Bygone Delusion...

I remember reading this one P4 fic where Shirou replaced Yu as the main protagonist and this one neat thing he learned to do was use his tracing ability on the cards that they used to summon their personas, and then he could use it to make a copy of that persona's weapon, like izanagi's spear. Similar to his other traced stuff it was weaker than the real thing and was draining to make, but it was way stronger than most weapons that he could use.
 
Yeah something like that but also more sciency/magi stuff. Metaverse is great source of free to taking magic items the fact that Shirou now has another motivation than just being hero of justice (returning home) I want to see him actually experiment with his abilities. Cause while using tracing to project magic sword is cool and all I always felt that it is severe underutilization of his abilities

If we want shirou to get better at making items with projection, then were going to need to train our Tinker skill, along with Mana stat and Agility stat, since Mana will give us more leeway with the strain to our circuits, and Agility affects our general technique. Potentially also awareness so he's better at analyzing the object he's making.

The whole thing with shirou is that he has trouble because of his whole soul n origin being overspecialitized as his affinity and origin is swords so anything not in that category is rather difficult all around so any progress towards something un-sword-like is gonna be a rough road but it is possible. Just don't expect it anytime soon.
 
I more though tinkering with machines Atlas style.( Which Shirou already did to much much lesser degree) Things that not really rely on origin just knowledge and access to resources (let just say that projection and metaverse has him covered in that point)

    Seems there will be new resident at the Niijima's! A very close race here.(Between Sojiro and Sae, Hobo!Shirou's legacy lives on in our hearts)

    He projected Caliburn so he should be able to project the other noble phantasms he saw. We will not have to wait until he can trace Caliburn to use a noble phantasm.I do not think that will happen until @AbyssalDivine makes it available in a fight. That is how he is doing it in Fate/Master of Steel. He should be able to trace the noble phantasms he saw in the Fate route. If Kirei used black keys he would have them. He might be able to trace the weapons used by Personas.

    He can project shields, armor and his bow like Archer can. He could be able to project other objects and they will be more expensive for not being swords.
     
    This isn't me saying she won't be kind but there's probably gonna be some sort of rules that'll make shenanigans and stuff a bit iffy and you've seen her canon self so.......expect politeness and due conduct really.

    ....Also huh I wonder how Akechi is gonna take shirou since we replaced Akiren. Hmmmm

    I mean there's a 50/50 chance He's going to be just as bad, if not worser to Shirou then he was to Akira after he shows his true colors, I remember he called Akira out for being some loser who got arrested and lives in an old man's attic after he lost, with shirou it might be even worse because of the whole "No past in this universe" thing.
