Yeah, this may be vindicated by the fact that log7_1.txt says Maria's life expectancy is 130 years old, which either means that the quest is in the future, or her timeline-altering abilities can physically affect things to the point of changing a living creature's biology.
 
Is Plato a computer program, a person, or a Sentient AI? The way Maria is referring to Plato makes it seem like she's talking to Google Siri rather than an equal with just as much take as her. Plus, the armed gunmen referred to Plato as a 'time manipulation device' so I'm leaning towards either a program or an AI with limited autonomy tasked with administering some device in Fermilab to manipulate time. Either one would mean that we won't need to worry about 'acting' like Maria as long as we spoof Maria's address since the program/AI will either not notice or not care who's using it as long as it has the same address as its assigned administrator.

Hmm, maybe we should also include ability to be in contact with Plato always. It would be bad, if we suddenly cannot for whatever reason.​

The Quest is taking place in 2025/modern day. I don't mind telling information that Daniel would reasonably already know much like a TTRPG Dungeon Master would.

... Wait... Couldn't we retcon where we are? Like instead of being in the office or something, retcon that we were somewhere else so that we aren't in the way and could easily run?

Maybe "Plato, new timeline. Daniel Rodriguez is in the 1st floor bathroom."

Ah, naturally the ability to travel through time is implemented in python. Also, very not-optimal design to apparently default to greedy searching. Shame on this Maria, who I assume is responsible. Seems we will have to take this for ourselves, if only to write a better search algorithm.

I agree with what people have been speculating..it really seems like Plato is more like a reality warping object then anything with a full on personality.

Also if she really used Plato to give herself her chest..why would she make them THIS huge? Like these are "makes Nasuverse Raikou look average" big based on the chapter 1 picture.

The search algorithm probably just picked the first one that met the definition of bigger, as crappy as it is, and changed a few million other major parameters to do it. We already know that the search doesn't especially care if differences in other things occur, just that the desired thing is adjusted.

Also, wouldn't it be more in character for Daniel to search for more info from a reputable (-ish) source first before diving into action? Since we picked Philosopher and all.

A couple of things I should get sorted out:
- Learn how to use the votecounter and use it next time.
- Ask staff to make copies of the first post, and blank them, so that I can fill those with character sheets and the usual.

Very happy to see this suddenly attract so many players! Really didn't expect it for an esoteric idea like this. I've had it bouncing around in my head for a very long time (3-4 years?) before I decided to just bite the bullet and make it.

The short, slightly cryptic title stands out from the crowd, followed by the thread greeting you with the excellent stark and unusual, yet vaguely familiar (cover / logo)
And you certainly didn't waste any time with the 'in medias res' :V

The first impression has a huge impact, and yeah, for a lot of people it's going to be "not warhammer 40k, not interested" or something along those lines
