For this movie, I think our priority needs to be investing in the acting. Find good actors and a good director, all of them having experience with the kind of complex and thought-provoking story this is aiming to be. Maybe look for people who've placed well in recent film festivals but still won't break the budget. Hokey effects and bare sets can be worked around with strong performances, same with props and costumes, and plundering the public domain should work for a soundtrack if whoever we get on that is clever/creative enough. It seems like the script is already finalized, or I'd push for trying to invest in a good screenwriter too. I'll just hope the script is strong enough as-is.

Anyway can't wait for Sonic and Eggman show up, if the movie Chao in Space anything to go by both of them will become legendary figures in the world and would start to influence culture and media.
