"The Lafayette is sinking!"

Stars and Stones, we SUCK at naval tactics. Didn't we keep screwing up tactics last thread too?

Without looking she reaches out a hand, grasps Sebastian by the windpipe, and crushes it with all the effort it would take to snap a twig.

...ow.

The ocean rose for a seemingly infinite distance above me, and below me there was… a city. But not like that of which I had ever seen before. Tall buildings of the purest white light decorated the ocean floor, their structures… impossible, twisting, bending, hanging over each other like anemone.

oh hey, R'lyeh!

"Tell me, have you been in control of yourself at all since December 6th? Or have other voices been guiding you?"

oh shit she spotted us.

Yes, You there, the being reading this right now.

You interest me.

OH SHIT SHE SPOTTED US.

But yeah, apparently we can't Navy. Poor Anderson, stuck with us driving...

I still have no idea if we suck at naval tactics or if that was a forced event and there was nothing we could do.

I was referring to the first vote.
This will mark your flagship and point of command going forward after Pearl.

Here. Just found this, but it looks good.
The internet had a choice between legs and ass

legs won
There carriers. There all tall, leggy women. What won was smug face over cute face, which is lame.

[Yes]
I will take You back, and history shall change forever. You shall embody Anderson as you have, but more than that. No more mysteries, no more guesses, You will know the possible fates of this 'Anderson' and will gamble upon his future.

Thanks to @Armoury for the beta!

This will be the last short one for a bit, sorry about that. And no, you didn't 'choose' wrong two chapters ago. That was just the plot kicking off, ya'll chose 'conspiracy' after all. It may not be to all tastes, but it's how I wanted that plot to happen. Please don't think I'm punishing ya'll.

Yes then? You agree? How… wonderful. In eight-hundred and sixty-seven thousand timelines I have only found… this one particularly interesting. This period of time is so played out, its information meaningless compared to that of the future. But an outside observer, an outside participant, that change things. You can change things, You can save them. You can save Him.

Anderson?

Oh yes, Anderson has died many times, few are the occasions that man has survived the war. Whether in the Atlantic, the Pacific, or even as a young man in the Arctic. That is to say less of his charges, the Bunker Hill, the Leviathan, the New Jersey or the Indianapolis. Sunk, sunken, sunk and destroyed. Can You do better? Can You be better? I'm interested in finding out. I'm interested in seeing how you do, how you… play, with the hands you are dealt. I will be helping of course, I want to see how this goes. But as for Anderson… he shall be unaware. You shall continue to observe, to understand, to share in his triumphs. But you shall be manipulating his decisions with the gift of foresight now.

Is he merely just a puppet to You I wonder…

But then, does it truly matter?

No, no I suppose it doesn't then.

I shall take you back, before he made his decision, and we shall approach it again, this time… with the gift of foreknowledge. Her hands gently rested against the side of the Human's head, and she smiled at Anderson, no longer looking at You. Then, she leaned in, and gently pressed her lips against ̶̡̊h̷̞̽A̵͉̎F̵̮͒O̶͇͌P̷̪̍W̸̠͑Ạ̶̕Ḙ̵͐I̴̽͜F̷͈̑H̸͙͆Á̶͙W̴̲̎P̵̥̋O̷͉͘I̸̻͑F̶̠͘Ḁ̴͝S̴͗͜D̸͎̕F̴̮̈-̵͔͝

2350 Hours, February 2nd, The Atlantic.

It had been smooth sailing so far, that was to be expected. We had been still under our own air cover until recently, though, as a piece of paper was shoved into my hand, dimly illuminated by a lamp… I knew things were about to change.

'ATTENTION SUBMARINES SIGHTED ON CURRENT ROUTE, WARDOG DAMAGED. ADVISED TO CHANGE COURSE.'

"From CINCLANT sir."

I nod to the man. Wardog… that was the Princeton.

"Admiral?" Leviathan says quietly, her face full of barely controlled fear.

I look to her, then… pause, and I rightly don't know why. Something felt off, different. Something strange was about this. I had seen this before, I had been in this situation before… but… that wasn't unusual, was it? I had fought ships at night before, and only a few days ago I was dealing with German Submarines at night.

I shake off the feeling, then give my order.

Simulation Start.

Connected.

Begin test.

Now… let's take a look here shall we?

[] [Stay the current course]
The Wolfpack has converged and is awaiting the next group of ships to arrive. Of course, You are in control of Anderson's actions, and know what is coming.

[] [Veer off]
Remove Anderson from his current course. The last time he attempted this he sailed directly into a Mirror Sea and had to fight for every ship in his task group. But he succeeded.

Anderson?

Oh yes, Anderson has died many times, few are the occasions that man has survived the war.

Hmm, well, she doesn't confirm that Anderson is who can be saved, which is interesting. I vaguely remember that Azur Lane has a future timeline where there was a lead scientist that was male before everything went to fuck and time travel, so maybe talking about him?

Yes Anderson, feel the presence of the time loop. Nothing will be wrong with this.

Well, if he succeeded before, then maybe things can go even better this time!

First choice with foresight knowledge and I'm already doubtful. Not sure if "the last time... he succeeded " means it's guaranteed this time.
Nevermind that the wolfpack will just kill some other unlucky and unsuspecting bastards instead of us this time.

Doomed if you do, doomed if you don't huh?

Sorry, not trying to drive anyone away.

[To North Africa] Fight the Italian Navy, liberate Northern Africa and save Gibraltar. Get involved in a conspiracy far beyond your station.
After Leviathan proved a problem boat with idealized notion of fighting with the goal of facing german Nazi's, you voted to go to Africa, and fight Italians instead, likely exasperating issues with her... I'm honestly frightened to see how poorly you've been managing the rest of our shipgirls morale.

That was just the plot kicking off, ya'll chose 'conspiracy' after all.
Conspiracy... oh you mean the vote between going to North Italy or the Channel?

This one? Damn, wish the Channel and politics had won instead if this is how conspiracy manifests.

[] [USS Ingraham]
Destroyer. The 'mad scientist' of the Allen M Sumners, famed for tinkering with her own Wisdom Cube to… interesting effects. She was known as mainly a recluse otherwise, rarely interacting with anyone. The ship itself was one of the most modern destroyers the navy had, with better guns, tech, and maneuverability. Cassin will be thrilled.
Is the thread just determined to fire torpedoes into ship/admiral relations whenever the opportunity presents itself? Because it really feels like the threads goal is to achieve a level of fleet dysfunction without precedent in this alternate history.

I voted for Ingraham because mad scientist ship. Nothing so far indicates any sort of hyper dysfunctional fleet. Some drama maybe, but at the moment it seems kind of obvious where our problems are going to come from.

And I don't know about others, but I voted to go with Italy specifically because of her obsession - you, generally, don't support that sort of behavior. And somebody had to keep the Italians at bay. Again, nothing indicates the problem is due to our relationship with her and not the ones making tactical decisions.

So, please calm down with the doom prophecies?

It's like Randino's shtick. He comes into quests and starts berating people for voting the way they voted like they're playing a video game wrong or something.

[X] [Veer off]

Meanwhile I think that while knowing the trap is coming is an advantage, and the advantage that got voted for the first time, we're just not equipped to deal with subs specifically at the moment. Skirting the wolfpack and dealing with whatever the other fuckery is is a better tactical call.

Consider this a warning. One more insult to the voters and you're booted from the thread.

The Conspiracy New
So. For the readers. The conspiracy.

Nothing has actually changed with Anderson as a whole. Nor is anything changing immediately. In the background, the metaplot of the Sirens is brewing a bit. But Anderson is still entirely focused on WW2. What *has* changed is that the votes are now from a God's eye view. You see the odds, you have some warning. Like you might in other forms of quests.

For the perspective shifts and the like. Those will be very rare. From chapter to chapter things will be the same. The odd votes will only come up for battles. This was done to make things more manageable instead of forcing you all to try and become naval tacticians.
