[X] Jacinto: It seems you're not the only one that's gotten a confidence boost from winning their Gym Battle. While you do feel a little guilty not approaching him when he was struggling early on, Jacinto doesn't seem to have minded. Though eager to make it up to him, you did promise to answer some of his questions about Dragon Pokemon and oddly enough, about what happened at your group's end of the 1st Field Exercise.

Didn't expect to see this today.

Getting distracted like that is dangerous, Mariana, what were you even thinking about!?
Who knows. Probably very straight thoughts.

Paying more attention, you notice a girl in a well-cut purple Mesagoza uniform, bearing long locks of dark blonde hair so smooth that you idly wonder what it'd be like to run your fingers through it.
Like this very straight thought right here!

'What are your intentions with Mariana, child?' Erika ignores the Espurr's attempts to interrogate her, to be busy glaring at the noble brat slinging her arm around Mariana.

"It's hopeless trying to get through to her when she's like this. Believe me, I've tried." Also ignoring Cornelia's unwanted, unasked and uncalled-for comment, Erika turns her attention to the noble's butler, memorizing both his face and the crest marked on his back, symbolizing which family he's employed under.

She's nowhere near connected enough to know exactly who that girl is, and asking Mary is simply out of the question. Fortunately, the insatiable urge of Paldea's elite to show off and brag can always be relied on in these circumstances.

"Are you pulling out your laptop?! In the middle of a tournament?!" Cornelia's incredulous tone does little to dissuade Erika from her course of action, though she does briefly glance at Renne who's staring at her in what passes for an amused look amongst the Espurr.

Three Sable Fleur-de-Lys on a white field above a representation of yellow tinted seaside craggy cliffs. The former suggest Kalosian- and thus an Emigre family, the descendants of those nobles who had fled the Kalosian Revolution. Meanwhile the latter suggests a coastal heritage, which should help narrow it down further.

Fortunately for her, Kalos has a site dedicated to cataloging all the old defunct noble families of the region, consigning those ancient and august families where they belong; in historical footnotes and museums.

"I am so sorry for her behavior! Once she gets like this, it's hard for her to stop…" Erika brings her face slightly closer to the laptop screen, to stop Cornelia from distracting her. She barely registers Mary's Espurr meowing something in response, in that adorably fluffy way they do. She notices the bell ringing, signaling the start of the next set of matches even less.

She finds the site quickly, but to her irritation it loads unbearably slowly. The page itself is an ugly mess, somehow managing to impressively strike the balance of being too basic and barebones in its design, while using garish enough colors that what design it does have makes it an eyesore. A user interface only possible with sites made nearly two decades ago and maintained by an underpaid government worker about to quit or be replaced. She does eventually find an exact match for the noble crest emblazoned on the butler's back, but it takes so long that she's considering actually spending her hard earned money in that Mobile Data plan that advertisers are constantly pushing on her.
Wasn't expecting this degree of yandere.

Erika joins the revolution. Not for political reasons, but to keep those noble bitches from stealing her girl.

Eyes lidded as she looked at Erika with an expression that she'd only reserved for that Mendoza or for after she had beaten that Gym Leader. Mary's cheeks flush red from excitement, her bright red lips stretched across her face in a bright lively grin. Erika could spend the rest of the tournament just staring, letting herself sink in the deep green of Mariana's mesmerizing eyes.

Then, everything clicks into place. And Erika understands.

oh
It's been a month and I'm not sure what's more surprising. That she's down this bad or that she only just noticed.

He really is so cool... How does that man get bullied? He's so sick with it, no one should ever have a reason to bully him!
It's the cheating. I haven't seen such an epidemic of underleveled Pokémon since GSC!Lance.

Can't even trust a ninja to evolve their Pokémon legitimately.

Erika: "Her Dreepy is probably late 1-badge level, 2-badge at worst."
Roland's character sheet: *2-badge, 3300/4000 to 3-badge*

… which just makes it more annoying that she still won while underestimating us. Ugh.

YOOOOOO IT IS BACK!!!! You have no idea how I've looked forward to this, but dang it was well worth the wait.

And it returns with, like, an Arceus-damned avalanche of gay disaster, though someone seem to be making some progress both with themself and with the other. Happy for Erika. :D

It's almost as if…

You push that thought aside, you're thinking too deeply into this. Besides…

Who'd ever think like that about someone like you?
I could make a joke about this, but it feels like there's a lot to unpack here.

As for which boi to vote for, I'm pretty torn. Atticus is simply the one I like the most, partially due to familiarity, but the other two have been pretty neglected.

Happy to have you back 🥳

Oh it has been a while since this updated, delightful to see it back, and delightful to see Erika is still an absolute disaster

Also funny story, I was thinking about reccing Ashen Legacy (Cold Steel next-gen quest on SB) here, but then I looked at the users here and realized at least half of them are already following that

Oh hell yes, we're back!

It's great to see this quest back, and I can't think of a better way for it to return than the double whammy of Mariana's crippling self worth combined with one of our class's resident disaster gays finally getting smacked with the clue by four. I'm not totally sure on the vote, as it mostly focuses on the classmates we haven't interacted with much. I'm inclined to vote for Manuel, though - I believe his father is involved in the Shadow Pokemon smuggling ring we've encountered, and after Shadow Vigoroth, I would like to get that plotline down right quick. On the other hand, the bullying epidemic that will lead to the formation of Team Star might be on the verge of beginning, so we need to remember to keep an eye out on Atticus's behalf.

[X] Manuel: As the classmate you've interacted with the least, you had no idea what to expect when he approached you to talk after your battle. An apology for what happened in the Field Exercise was not among them. 'A noble should take responsibility for the actions and damage those beneath him may cause.' Manuel says with utter seriousness. Looking straight into his eyes, you're convinced he means every word of it.

Man im actually not sure to pick. I finally checked the info page and saw the whos who. Manuel and Jacinto both deserve to leave bond 0 hell, but Atticus is REALLY tempting. Like...
Hes a future Team Star member.
He gives 1 Ground type Mexp which we have 3 moves that benefit (in comparison to Steel and Elec MExp in which we only have one, aka Metal claws and Spark)
IT would be cool to have a ninja for the next Field Exercise.

However I am willimg to see what the heck the other two can bring to the table. Bond wise and Narrative wise for the next Field Exercise. Who knows it might surprise us.

Oh also the info post for the Trainer card has not neen updated yet. I dont remember but did the tournament give any exp?
Edit:
Found it.
Gain 600/750/900/1000 Poke XP
I wonder where we ended up on the scale?

Edit:
[X] Atticus: It's clear from the moment the battle started that something was weighing on him. Atticus getting the worse result of the Round Robin prolly hasn't helped either. Maybe it's because you've been looking to be a more proactive Class President, or maybe it's because you're worried about your classmate, either way you're not gonna let the petty cruelty of children bring your classmate down.

Atticus is probably mechanically optimal, but we should hang out with both bond 0 guys soon-ish.

Grabbing her backpack, to bring it with her she looks at Renne, snickering a little as the Psychic Pokemon seems to have the large popcorn bucket stuck on its head, with Cornelia trying to get it off.

Rolling her eyes, Erika tears at the side of the bucket with her nails, freeing the Espurr who's too busy licking at the cheese to pay her mind. Eventually, after licking herself clean of cheese and popcorn, Renne looks at her expectantly.
Kitty going to need a grooming session to get all the crumbs and popcorn flavoring out

Erika's two direct inspirations have two very different relationships with their cats......okay maybe it's not that different and Celine's just nicer, but the point is I'm glad we've foisted a feline on this one in addition to her pet rock. (Pet Rock, the species. Calling someone's sibling their pet would be weird.)

I might actually abstain from the vote just because every option is good.

Our boy is on he struggle bus right now. Manuel and Jacinto probably won't kill each other tomorrow but Atticus feels like he needs more prompt help. Plus I want to get a glimpse of the Team Star plot thread.

Hmm, fair erguments for Atticus - we should definitely pick Manuel and Jacinto for the next hangouts, though.

Poor Atticus without the Gay Boost
