I think you're underestimating how much of an unnatural influence Primarchs can be on their sons. Obviously we have the example of the Blood Angels before and after Sanguinius met them, and while Konrad isn't nearly as charismatic, they don't need to be with that sort of genetic bond.

A big running theme with Konrad is that the fate he foresaw for himself and his legion was only inevitable because he failed to do anything about it. If Konrad wasn't the spiteful little nihilist he was, it's quite likely he could have made something good out of his legion, regardless of their origins, or past actions. That's what I'm banking on here.

My heart does go out for the Light Infantry squads, but I'm not really sure we need them as a Primarch on par at Stealth with Corvus Corax, to the point that we (were) are able to hide on the Lion's ship for sixteen weeks and not be found.

Just look at Corvus Corax's legion, the Pale Nomads were little better than the Night Lords before he turned them into the Raven Guard, and Corax definitely wasn't known for his Charisma in comparison to his brothers. I think Kassandra here could actually change them, especially if we have Jexad Fel to help guide them into something less monstrous alongside us.

Plus I also REALLY want to get some of the Tanith 1st (and only) even if they never had the pleasure of serving under Gaunt since they would be amazing with the Guerrilla warfare Kurze likes.

I realized that this plan has nearly all things that I wanted to take (I would just take Dusk Raiders in place of Night Lords & Magos in place of Inquisitor)

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to vote for Night Lords, at least, not a good idea considering our current situation. We can change them, but people really shouldn't overestimate the influence of Primarchs. There were Loyalists and Traitors in all Legions for a reason. And for people claiming that Corax changed his Legion, he did, by kicking out everyone who didn't want the 19th Legion to be better.

We can change them, but it probably be a long-term process and quite difficult. Also, I just want the Tau. They could unironically be of great help, by virtue of having practical experience living in a functional multi-species society. Not ideal society by any means, but definitely a functional one.

Tau are severely underrepresented in 40K quests, out of all the factions theirs is the one that regularly convinces formerly hostile populations to switch allegiances and base ideologies which would be useful knowledge to have if the intention is to get the Night Lords to change their ways without simply decimating them, and they're experienced with cooperating with both humans and votann.
