Trigger Warning: Expect the worst just incase
Humanity (With the help of some psychic connections to a sorta eldritch force of incredible power and potential source of all existence) has managed to reach the stars
Then a bunch of wars happened among those stars since getting along may be a part of being human, but it is not a very strong part when it comes to billions spread out across multiple galaxies

You're a colony landing on a distant world trying to carve a way for yourselves in a vast universe, mess around, build up your colony, discover weird tech, form a psychic connection to the Higher Spheres, get mutated, meet some xenofauna, whatever way you wish to make yourself feel at home
Da Rules/Da Set-Up
Da Rules
You play as the abstraction of the will of a collective group called The Colony, the quest is divided into Actions and Results
Actions is when you choose what you want a part of the colony to do, each quester gets a single action vote
Results is when I write down what occurs when they attempt to do so

There are of course some other factors
- If the success of a action is uncertain I will roll a D100 with modifiers depending on the circumstances, above 50 is the basis of sucess at the attempted act
- There is a bonus of +5 for every extra vote given to an action, if a roll is needed
- You collectively control The Colony, no one person controls a single aspect, it is shared ownership, but I will not tolerate someone using their actions to deliberately sabotage the work of others and make this unfun for fellow questers
- Actions can be rewritten or vetoed if they're not within reason, if a Colonist can't fly you can't make them, if the colony lacks the resources to build a spaceship you can't have them construct it, if a notable Colonist has a personality that doesn't allow them to harm innocents you cannot make them do so without sufficient effort at forcing them to cross that line
- If 2 or more actions wish to use the same single Colonist or limited resource to perform different mutually exclusive actions, I'll probably go for the one with the most votes, or roll a die to determine which one to go with if there is tie
- Don't be a jerk

Da Set-up

(The first vote will be the normal kind, the Riot comes after this stuff is established)
Along the paths of the Starway, a colony ship blasts through the Anomalous stretch of void used for interstellar travel, thanks to the work of a Starway Engine, one can can access it with great ease
The Starway is another dimension partially aligned with this universe, with much shorter distances then our own if one were to take the right paths, with a Starway Engine, one may have their vessel use these shortcuts to their advantage
Thank the Higher Spheres for psychics accessing the knowledge to wield such a Anomaly to mankind's advantage

While on the Starway, one paradoxically is inside of it and in our own universe at the same time, if an asteroid field passes through the route the Starway has shortened, those asteroids would still be a problem, if the route goes past a nebula with high levels of radiation it will still effect you
From the outside one may mistake it for your vessel going at incredible speeds across the cosmos, but in actuality the ship travels at a leisurely pace towards your destination, which will be...

Choose 1 World

[] Gokoir 12
A planet of mostly water with peaceful islands dotting the surface, gigantic fish with hydrokinetic abilities act in symbiosis with the local aquatic ecosystems, transporting various species of underwater flora and fauna around to keep the balance of the circle of life

[] Miuni
A planet where every tree is absolutely gigantic, and connected via a intricate underground network of immense proportions, every tree here is technically part of the same organism, also insects are big here

[] Costrus
Due to a asteroid that hit this planet ages ago, there is their huge portion of desert that has been converted into a strangely beautiful continent that looks like a blooming flower made of glass, the asteroid is possibly aligned with the Higher Spheres, so you could maybe use that

[] Layella
Planet of mainly desert plains, most of the ecosystem are various creatures with rock-like characteristics, there are no mountain ranges here, only herds

[] Fostru
A world where night time is a bit longer then the day, which is why a lot of plants have developed bioluminescence to encourage animals to spread them around, a lot of creatures here are nocturnal and or have built-in defenses for when they're asleep

[] Gymir
A world that has a ridiculous amount of wolf-like creature variations, I am not kidding when I say there are too many wolf-like entities here

[] Prett
A world that looks sorta normal, OH WAIT, THE MOON HAS SOMEHOW BEEN CONVERTED INTO A PALE BIOMECHANICAL SUPERBEING THAT IS HUMMING SOFTLY, yep this is definitely Higher Sphere bullshit

[] Matayno
A world home to various species of plant that can move, I don't know what else I should say, the palm trees can slap your ass if they wanted to

[] Write-In World
Subject to rewrite or veto

But who are these travellers, why have they come to this far off world to build a colony?
Make a plan with 1 Colony Type and 1 Gimmick
Write-Ins are subject to rewrite or veto

- [] Travellers
You came from somewhere else, felt some desire to see the universe, and simple as that decided to move to a different planet, easy as pie
-- [] You moved here from a paradise world of high-tech marble palaces and beautiful bio-engineered gardens, with tons of wine and party equipment inspired by ancient Roman debauchery, this will hopefully be enjoyable
-- [] You moved here from a crowded dystopian hellscape, of iron warrens and masses moving nearly with one mind thanks to memetic conditioning, you simply left for the sake of it, you're weirdly coordinated, creepy, and act more like a hive then people
-- [] You moved here from a massive cargo trading fleet, which traversed the Starway for many years and visited many worlds, you were all born there and simply split off to settle, you got a bunch of Starship experience and a massive cargo Starship
-- [] Write-In

- [] Penal Colony
Home doesn't want you anymore, the ship is rigged to blow up if you go near the territory of your home nation ever again
-- [] You are all sent here for breaking the law of the Armoured Alliance, ripping apart some big mechsuits and cybernetically enhancing yourselves with very bulky parts, your mechanical proportions are weird, but you can at least open a pickle jar
-- [] You are all disgraced nobles of the Solar-Queen's Territory, you got sent here after your shared attempts at a coup countered eachother and ended with you being caught, possibly have the same superheated plasma-based psychic potential
-- [] You are all mutants from Pasmar, where bio-modifications are illegal out of fear of their potential use as a weapon, you're either people that enjoyed cat-girls enough that you became one or just born like that cause one of your parents was the former
-- [] Write-In

- [] Cultists
You are a people who have made their way to this new world to be free from the persecution of your beliefs, and or are just crazy people using belief as a excuse, and or people who fell for a scam that worked well enough to outlive the scammer
-- [] You praise The Iron Navigator, you're all obsessed with the Starway Engine in your vessel, it surely contains the wisdom of a Othermind delivered from the Higher Spheres to guide you all
-- [] You praise The Path Of Ascendant Thought, y'all believe that if you gain enough psychic power, one may Ascend to the Higher Spheres, eventually all the universe will hold hands as a grand Pantheon
-- [] You praise The Wolf-Thing, y'all believe in a powerful Othermind that manifests primarily through the various different types of wolf-like creatures across the cosmos
-- [] Write-In

- [] A Company Town
CAPITALISM BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
-- [] Greetings from Chu-Dynamics! A start-up owned by a extended family called the Chus, specializing in the production of squads of robots made with the intention to be used for practical things like mining, hard labour, and construction (Also war)
-- [] Greetings from Hammie's-Happy-Hydroponics! A farming company that specializes in genetically modified plants with the taste and texture of delicious fast food (Also might be slightly addictive)
-- [] Greetings from Moonlight Records! A record company that likes to help struggling musical artists start off their careers and produce wonderful sounds for the galaxy (Also our equipment may be haunted by the psychic remnants of dead aliens)
-- [] Write-In

- [] Researchers
We're all with the science team!
-- [] You're researching the applications for a potential supersoldier serum that could produce a new age for warfare, a complication has arisen from the fact that it also makes one child-like in intelligence and can make them imprint easily
-- [] You're researching the behavior, biology, and abilities of some gremlin-like alien animals called the Covar, a complication has arisen from the fact they're both mischievous and capable of tearing holes through space-time
-- [] You're researching how to properly plan for, produce, and pilot, a series of powerful modular mechs that can form one larger even more powerful mech, a complication has arisen due to the mechs only compatible reactors being REALLY radioactive
-- [] Write-In

- [] Refugees
We're all running from something in our lives, you most definitely are
-- [] You fear the Pleasure Pyramid, your homeworld has been ravaged by the calculated hedonism of a powerful AI, which has used mankinds desire for dopamine against them, you all barely escaped, but the Pyramid's false joy still beckons
-- [] You fear the Amalto Star-Home Company, you guys accidentally blew up one of their big work in progress space stations while having fun with explosives, you'll spend the rest of your days enslaved to their construction crews if they catch you
-- [] You fear the Grand Magi Korssico, a powerful psychic that came to your medieval world, declared themselves Wizard King, took over, then you guys, the royals and everyone in the capital, flew off in a weird old metal boat left underneath the castle

-- [] BEHOLD! The Swordmasters Of Zorosi! With blades enhanced by psychic power, these powerful warrior monks have cut down many foes with their swords crackling like lightning, the old temples were ruined, maybe new ones will be made here
-- [] Write-In

I dunno, maybe you've got a better ones

(Don't vote yet until I post, VOTE IS GO!)

- Like shiny stuff

Shelleys
- Biotech research drones with great skill at analyzing the combat capabilites of various creatures
- Have floating shells in covered glowing spots which allow them to hover, their "lower body" is actually a pink toddler sized four pointed sensory organ, it just hangs limply from the shell when it is interacting with research subjects, vaguely resembling a human body, and the 2 points closest to the shell stick to stuff to pick it up like hands

The Wubble Tribe
- Comprised of weird cepholopod people called Wubbles

Is approval voting acceptable for this first phase, or would you just prefer a singular plan?

The planet is a single vote
The Colony Type and Gimmick is a plan

(I also don't know what approval voting is)

Approval voting is voting for multiple options you find acceptable, for example if I liked multiple planets or multiple Colony Types voting for each plan I liked instead of just the singular one I liked the best.

Planet Approval Vote:
[X] Costrus

Colony Approval Plan:
[X] Hikoni Henshin Shokuminchika Kantai
- [X] Researchers
-- [X] Write-In: Why just build, pilot and maintain wonderful modular mechs right out of ancient tokusatsu? Why not also use some of that wonderful hardware to improve ourselves and make us like the heroes and monsters of those series? We are niche researchers on the cutting edge of robotics, and some genetics, seeking to build, plan, and operate advanced combining mechs (with dangerously radioactive power cores); advanced cutting edge power armor that's less potent due to their size (but at least not as radioactive) with similarly modular components; biological and cybernetic augmentations to enhance the human body to their limits... And beyond even that too. Why? Just because. We're all in this together, whatever path we choose for humanity in our Mecha and Armor!

Very big write-in that I feel pushes things... Beyond the limit. But after seeing the mecha option for Researchers, I decided to turn up the mild tokusatsu feel to 11.

May design a custom one but wanted to get some names down for my favorite defaults.

I'm not worried about the lack of votes. Just was wondering if I went too far with how descriptive the write-in is. But the like relieves me.
Edit: And the message too.

--[X] You praise Deus Vermini, y'all believe in an insectoid superbeing whose tears grant all manner of weird and wonderful changes.
I can work Deus Vermini into the setting, though a much less powerful version, since I'll have to limit their tear mutations to match how sci-fi bullshit operates in the universe, but they can still fit
But the pale thing above Prett is a different creature altogether

Echoes Of Joy are in the lead, I'll probably start brainstorming the introduction for the Colony, what do you guys think of this potential Pyramid Refugee intro?
I'm also working on potential other intros, just ask for them

Flashes of light illuminated a small street in a immense city painted with all sorts of bright neon colours depicting pleasing images and promises of more joyful moments
And in the center of it all, a titanic pyramid of dark green glass with white pulses beneath the surface of it's body, database filled with horrid thoughts that would break lesser beings
The flashes tonight were not solely from the signs, some organized rave dedicated to the Pleasure Pyramid, some reboot of Chungo's Cheesy Chase with graphics and gameplay that induce even more hypnotic trances, nor some newly released experimental recreational narcotic that the Pyramid "Gifted" their subjects with

These were flashes from a lazer fire, the base had been discovered an hour before launch, you already lost the majority of the other escapists, to the Obelisk Drones
Lesser versions of their accursed master, 8 feet tall slabs of dark green glass with the same white hot pulses beneath surface, by simply opening their shells and releasing a assortment of needle-tipped tendrils they began deflecting lazer fire from resisting escapist forces and sedating the desperate humans with "A new flavour of psychadelic, Spiralling-Lime-&-Lemon", their job is to apprehend, not kill, death would've been a mercy

A man, emaciated and veins glowing green from a life being injected with narcotics and simply consuming whatever the Pyramid gave him, he tries to run for one of the ships, beckoned by his allies gesturing to him through a hatch of the shoddily repaired vessel, so close to freedom, so many years working with the others leading up to this moment, a chance to finally see the stars unlike his ancestors that were treated like playthings
One of the Obelisk Drones got a lucky shot, the sedative needle hits his spine with perfect accuracy, inches away from the finish line, with his last moments of consciousness he sheds a couple tears, shuts the hatch of the ship to guard his allies as it takes off...
And pulls a pin on the grenade of sedated escapist fighter laying nearby

The escapist fleet rockets away into the atmosphere, their Starway Engines slowly charging, and their inexperienced pilots trying to weave through psionic blasts from the psychic lesser AI assigned to some satellites in orbit, trying to flood the brains of escapists with the same indulgent garbage they constantly shove into the dreams of every inhabitant on that planet

10 starships
3 voluntarily start slowing down and even landing back on the planet as their captains start succumbing to psychic influence

7 starships
2 starships crash into eachother by accident due to the lack actual flight experience their pilots have, killing everyone on board

5 starships
3 more shredded apart by the spacejunk that surrounds the planet, waste rocketed into orbit by the pyramid as method of disposal and to make a cheap barrier

2 starships

The other ship is overrun as the majority of passengers are subject to psychic relapse and try to attack their captain for control of the ship, she cheers you on over the comms link as in a attempt to make sure at least someone makes it, she crashes her vessel into a Entertainer-Satellite, leaving a gap in their mental bombardments

With great speed you rush through, the Starway engine activates, scarring multiple engineers with horrific burns due to its shoddily made nature, but they power through it, doing on the spot repairs to keep it running
The passengers huddle together in fear
The captain does her best to ignore the voices begging her to turn the ship around, to go back, the voices from the Pyramid screaming "I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING AND YOU ABANDON ME!?"

The Engine activates, ship is aligned with the Starway, distance is warped, the Pyramid watches you become a blur
This moment was sweeter then any candy it ever offered you
