Take money from family coffers, return it to the family coffers.

Chills, fever, bloodletting? Yeah, I don't think we can do much work in our current sorry state. We may commit more mistakes and decrease the chances of the Hababurgian prince.

The small respite is that Zamoyski joined us for the campaign, so it's not like we lost much time here. Let's go all in on our mission, I don't want us to fail our family in big politics again.

Also
"Bóg nam radzi!" you shout, joined by your men, as those of other herby call out their family mottos.
I know that it's the Radziwiłł motto, but every time I read it I hear this song (from a Belarusian band, so it's probably intentional on their part):

I'm not losing that leg god damn it.

This is another series of tough decisions, because they all have benefits and tradeoffs...

The bribes will go a way to get Maciej to be the talk and discussion for the Convocation, and Election. Footing a bit of the bill ourselves will also help out, because it is NOT guaranteed that Matthias will actually arrive with enough wealth to offset the bribes of the Bathorys.

But we also have family to look out for, and our relationship with our father has been strained by a streak of some slight insubordination. However, it was also our parent's directive to us to help Maciej in any way to get him elected. I'm unsure about the historical side of it, but from the way the posts have been reading to me, Stan and the Radziwills are the faces of the Pro-Austrian faction of this election. We need to be able to keep the pressure up.

And it's spoils won from the Tatar Hosts we just defeated, we can spin it as giving the good lords of the Commonwealth their share of the dues taken from our enemies.

One thing I will say here, and I couldn't stress this enough... We must attend the Convocation in person. I firmly believe attendence is a must for the Habsburgian Party. Friendly terms with Zamoyski and serving on campaign together aside, we still have very different political motivations and goals, and not attending will yield to initiative to Zamoyski and the Bathory Faction at the discussions and talks.

We can rest and such in between the large gatherings and talks, and entertain guests and hold conversations with important swing voters from comfortable lodgings with the surgeon close at hand. But the big public events? We need to keep the pressure up, we need to advocate and we cannot let Zamoyski have the initiative. Because I've no doubt given his reputation, if we give him an inch, he'll take a mile.

Guys, "work from bed" AND "don't use the money" = lose the elections. Zamoyski got the money for bribes AND is around to campaign.
If you must choose one, please don't choose both.

I would rather lose the election than lose our leg.

If we take any action let us use the money for bribes for the love of god, we've been punished for bad decisions in this quest before, I'd rather not be a cripple just after we gain a reputation as a warrior!

This sounds like blood poisoning.
God I hope not, Sepsis usually leaves people so weak and ill that more than half of people even today, who contract it die within five years of contracting the disease. If it is Sepsis, we will literally run a massive risk of shortening our life extensively, being crippled or even dying if we don't focus on getting better immediately

Away from the more serious matters of the update…The idea of the cognomen Stanislaw 'Ajax' Radzwilli is a great one.

Ajax was the most compassionate, honourable and physically strongest of the Greeks, he spent most of his time in the Trojan war defending rather than attacking, he was held by the Athenians to be one of their ancestors and was worshipped in the worlds first republic, further there's the matter of his name.

Ajax may be derived from the word Eagle, referencing how Heracles prayed for his friend Telamon to be able to conceive and had his wish granted in the form of Zeus blessing Telamon and his wife by sending an eagle to ensure the conception of their son. This is very appropriate because the symbol of Poland-Lithuania is an eagle, and Stanislaw's grandfather bore the cognomen of Heracles iirc.

Then there's the other possible etymological origin, wherein Ajax may be derived from the word 'sadness' or 'regret' or 'lamentation'. Which…considering Stanislaw's humanism? Very very appropriate.

Flirting like the day you two met! Ah, it makes a man feel alive, it makes a man feel drunk! It's a fine lady you've married, politics be damned! You don't need an Ostrogski princess or some Italian courtesan when you've got a wife like this.
+1 to that. Marianna has what it takes to be a politician. I wonder if she can surprise us with her own skills at intrigue in this situation - she was at the sejm the whole time and we were not, after all. I feel like this is a good time to let go of our Extreme Ownership mentality and let other players play their hands.

As for the money, I really don't see why our family can't simply immediately promise this money as bribes as soon as they know we sent it. Smooth things over with father, since he has every opportunity to crush our future if he so desires.

what color are we you think

It matches the color of our leg, too.
Red, yellow, a little purple — not necrotizing is a good sign. You don't have huge amounts of plot armor, though. I might actually break a promise to myself and do a dice roll!

edit: also, premodern medicine gets a bad rep. Even the Egyptians had semi-effective treatments for things like wound infection (honey and butter, acting as a sort of proto-vaseline with empirically proven mild antiseptic properties)— the problem is the lack of sanitary conditions plus superstition, but a solid portion of it genuinely grounded in actual medicine.

We've just gotta get up there and show the flag, it's still an uphill battle to turn history and win the election. Meanwhile, sending a "fortune-fortune" to the family will help ease hard feelings about Stan's independent streak.

Showing the flag and winning the election is less important than our health and survival. We've seen there are consequences for our actions and choices in this quest, we've only just gotten over the trauma of the Benedictine option winning. I'd rather we not ride around with one leg or die young due to choosing to try and win this election over our health.

If we choose an option to affect the election please please choose the least risky one to our actual life and limb, this is not the age of modern medicine, this is not even the age of the bone-saw and vivisection, it's worse. We literally just saw a doctor poison our friend with Mercury to cure syphilis

I'm gonna close voting by this time tomorrow depending on how trends develop! It's a close one -- and consequential!

It's quiet... Lurkers beware, I'm gonna close 'er down sooner unless another vote or two comes in!

Also, I have told some on the GSRP discord, which I tell you all now because it's hilarious: I'm descending into writer-insanity -- I've been having phantom pains in my right thigh for about 24 hours now, and the other night I had a dream I was in cathedral surrounded by Medieval people (not Ren Poland) involving someone who was very sick, my memory is hazy. Think I'm like two updates away from having a Marian apparition.

Anyways, vote or (hopefully not) die!
